  1. I'm no pro but here's my 2 cents about my experience with slv. I have 2 tandem jumps and 6 solo jumps, my first tandem jump was in my hometown and my second was at Skydive Las Vegas cause my gf at the time and I went to vegas and she wanted to skydive. So I went with her. That place has nice people but it was a total tandem factory. Even my gf didn't like how they rushed us into a load and told us not to touch anything. As we were exiting I touched the handle in pac 750xl and the instructor said "don't touch that!" I felt like an inconvenience more than anything. I know they have rules and are keen on safety, but they should talk to us, not down to us. I know touching my Harness is a BIG NO NO, but I didn't know touching the door track by accident was a big no no either. ( no I wasn't snooping around intentionally trying to tamper with things either) Then I performed a perfect arch in freefall, when we landed the tandem master raved about how easy of a tandem passenger I was and he hadn't had a tandem jump like that in a long time. The landing area was off the airport and it was dirty and dusty, which is understandable, it being in a dessert and all. Getting up to altitude was super fast. Over all I give SLV 3/5 as a tandem passenger. But if I were a licensed skydiver visiting them, i'd probably give them a 4/5 or even a 5/5 cause the people there were nice, Just treated tandem passengers like cattle. But they were just doing there jobs, trying to put food on the table. No harm in that....... so long story short, SLV should be good for you to get tons of jumps in cause they load fast. LOL
  2. I just had my wisdoms taken out yesterday, 3 of them one was impacted, they stopped bleeding hard after 3 hours, they are just trickling blood now here and there.... my gf says hers stopped bleeding after 3 days completely. so probably 2-5 days it's totally true, the dentist gave me 3 prescriptions, 2 weeks supply of tylenol 3 with codene, anti-inflamitories with pain relief, and amoxicillan. I haven't taken any pain killers yet they don't hurt at all. It's crazy how fast you get knocked out you are talking to them one minute and the next all of a sudden you wake up and want a big glass of water. Then tryto ask the nurse lady for one with gauze in your mouth hahaha
  3. Yeah these Anon's have little to no blind spots and are great for peripheral vision.... But I don't think i'll use them, Just thought i'd run it by you experts and get a second opinion. So what are good goggles to get?
  4. Yeah i'd like to use them, or give them a try one jump, but maybe I should ask my jump master first...
  5. Hey DZ, I am a fairly new skydiver with only 7 jumps under my wing and I was wondering if my Anon snowboarding goggles would make good skydiving goggles. They just sit there collecting dust and I would like to put them to use. So I was wondering if anyone has ever did a jump with ski/snowboarding goggles. I tried searching in the forums for a possible old thread about this question, but I only got a thread about if skydiving goggles would work as ski goggles.... funny,
  6. Hey, I'm pretty new to skydiving too, i've only had a few jumps. 1 tandem, and 1 solo. I found that Skydiving is the most independent sport any man/woman can ever do. It's up to you to get yourself safely to the ground. So what I say you should do is, save up enough money to do a tandem, and if you fall in love with the sport as hard as I did, money, parent's, and school would not get in the way. you'll just make it happen. Money is tight for me, so i've been sacrificing, and i've been content since. Hopefully i'm doing my second IAD jump tomorrow, i've been postponed so many times to jump because of my work schedule, and the local dz is so busy. plus weather has not been permitting lately up in Canada.
