  1. Yes, in alberta from 12-17-20 to "you're on contract to work/packf" So if you do one, then the pay is good, if you do lots, maybe not as good :P
  2. Lol, late reply! I got the main out yes. Canola I would think is like beans... thicker than grass and thinner than corn. (4' high). Nice yellow added to my blue/white tie dye jumpsuit.
  3. Hello Darcy, I am Adam. Its too bad that you couldn't be in on the Canopy Camp at Eden this spring. I had 500 jumps before I took Doug's course and found that I still had a lot to learn. In this sport its easy to focus on the freefall and the fun that we have. Unfortunately, canopy control is the BIGGEST area that we lose focus on. Yet, stats will show that it is by FAR the #1 killer in our sport. This is why I've organized Doug to come up this spring. First and foremost, to involve as many as I can, and also to provide a coaching aspect so we can bring skills back to our DZ. What does it mean to you? According to the poll, overwhelmingly, stay on your current canopy. Nate raised several good points. We're here to guide you, not hinder you. I've seen your canopy control last year, if you can show good control this year, we can work to downsize you safely. As other have said, canopy collisions only take 2. It doesn't matter if its an Otter, Caravan, C206, C182 DZ.... all you need is one person making a small mistake and colliding with ONE other person for it to become really bad. I know you've seen a lot of feedback, and I hope that I'm coming across as being a friend/coach not someone to hold you back.
  4. I had an "oh shit" on Saturday. It started with pilot chute in tow. Unfortunately, the camera is on my left and I do the check over my right shoulder. Next came a line twist with a slight diving spiral. To top it off, I was 20' short of the cut landing area. I ended up in 4' high canola. From where my toe first went in to where I tumbled at the end, was about 30'. Good times!
  5. Thanks for this site! I found a lot of great music. You can search by genre (tag) and by music that can be used commercially. Plus there is an option to support the artist. Since we do make some cash with our vids, I think it is great that this site provides an option to donate to the artist.
  6. Look up Swear Kick out of line twists Check for other traffic Undo handloops and leg clips Turn off cameras (the line twists, swearing, and possibly a riser strike are always best caught on video ) Kill/stow the slider Unstow the brakes
  7. I had the same issue. I use the "DV" video mode. If I tried using MPEG, the editing options were not available. Hope that helps...
