  1. Yah and I got a certificate to prove it to haha. But thanks a lot for the name calling, it shows how mature you are. According to my DZ, your first jump your a skydiver. So I am a jumper now, deal with it. I paid a lot of money like everyone else to get where I/we are now. But back to the topic at hand. I seen more tandems as I am spectating slide in, that looks like fun! Not sure why, but it looks effective for sure.
  2. Who cares how many jumps I have. What has that got to do with that, when I was on the end of it and nearly didn't go back to skydiving because of that. I am just saying what happened when we did the ass plant, err butt slide. Granted I seen a lot of people do it really efficiently and I done one jumping solo. Very effective indeed when done right as mentioned earlier.
  3. I did a butt landing for my very first tandem. My butt hit the ground so hard I wasn't even able to stand up. I don't recommend landing on your butt during landing. To this day I have little respect for that TM. I'm glad that was my first and last tandem. Jumping solo, I never have to worry about that gain. If I do something stupid then its my own fault.
  4. Today i jumped 2x today. i completed my level 2 and 3. Next Sunday i go up for level 4. Should be fun, I start doing 90 degree and 360 turns. With no one holding on to me. Should go well. I'll let everyone know how it goes next Sunday. In the meanwhile. Blue Skies!
  5. LOL, that's how I feel right now. Counting down the days, before I can jump out of the plane again. Getting the butterflies to as the days get closer. Btw, congrats on passing your AFF 1 as well!!
  6. Thanks all! I appreciate it. I will keep everyone up to date on my progress through my AFF jumps. I got a couple suggestions for the leg strap digging in. Does anyone else have some suggestions that I can try?
  7. Hehe. I am pretty stiff from today's jumps. But I can't wait to go up again.... Yup, damn... Can't wait! YEEHAW :D
  8. Man I had one of the best days of my life. I started the day with my first solo jump, holy crap was that awesome. hanging onto the wing strut was intense. Looked up and my JM and let go. What a ride, the chute opened and enjoyed a excellent ride down to my landing. I then continued my day with my AFF level 1. The nerves hit into high gear. I did my ground school, then suited up for my jump. Went up to 12,500ft, closed my eyes to focus and run through what I needed to do. I was given the go ahead to get into position at the door. Stuck my head outside the door, breathed and relaxed. Went up and down and gone, woohoo!! Holy crap this is awesome. I did everything I was taught to. I did a good arch, I felt so stable. I asked my instructors how my arch was. They said they were hardly holding on and if they let go they felt confident I would not be going anywhere. Big confidence booster for sure! Checked my altimeter, saw 6000ft. My eyes were glued to the altimeter. I saw 5000ft, reached and pulled. Everything went perfect, the chute opened and enjoyed a very nice ride down back to mother earth. I passed my AFF level 1 perfectly. Next Sunday, AFF level 2. Same thing pretty much, but with some turns in it. I was grinning ear to ear, what a rush, felt like I was dreaming. One thing I noticed is when I pull the chute is the lag straps dig into my inner thigh. Kind of making it uncomfortable. Is there anything I can do to make it easier to bare? Loosening the straps or some padding?
  9. Wow, I gotta say that skydiving is an amazing rush and experience. Yesterday I went for my first tandem jump with my sister. I wasn't nervous about it, until we were about to jump. the reality sunk in. WHAT A RUSH! I jumped from 13,000ft, the view was amazing to say the least. Once the door opened when we reach altitude, I got one hell of a adrenaline rush. The instructor pushed us forward towards the exit, he counted 1, 2, 3. Holy crap, i couldn't believe I was actually skydiving. The chute deployed, I was handed the toggles. That was another rush, feeling the turns and gently glidding to earth. Ohh oh, now the landing, I was wondering how it would turn out. It was a bit rough, hit my butt on the ground pretty good and sprained my finger. Now, like many others. I find myself hooked, so what the landing wasn't perfect. But the image I had of freefalling was pretty good. This Sunday I signed up for a IAD, I'm actually more nervous about that, then the tandem jump. Sure the chute is deployed once i leave the plain. But its the whatifs that are kinda racking my nerves. Like; - what if the primary doesn't open properly - how do i spot the DZ There is a 5hr course with this, so I am sure everything will be EXCELLENT! I'd like to thank the Eden North Club in Canada, Alberta for being so great. You guys made my expeirence one that I will not forget in my lifetime. I plan on getting my AFF in the future as well. Blue skies! James Anderson
