  1. Replying to the thread as a whole. I wanted to add to the conversation bc this is something I have really changed my thoughts on. I think this is best done by sharing a great article written on a conservative site: https://www.redstate.com/sarahquinlan/2018/03/20/republicans-seek-end-death-penalty-not-expand/ Some strong quotes from the article: "Capital punishment is therefore yet another government program that is both expensive and ineffective — while also pertaining to literal life or death situations." "If we are to err, shouldn’t it be on the side of life?" -Ronald Reagan -R Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. 3. Freeflyers also do a lot of tracking/angle jumps and transition a lot during those jumps. I agree with you on the belly and ff skills overall but I think there is a reason that FF's transition to WS better. We are more used to dynamic flight as a whole and that includes tracking jumps. Many tracking jumps I see that are not freeflyer heavy are just flat tracking and not much else. Great advice to the "baby bird" you just got me thinking... (Sleep Number) Since I have focused this way I have some days that are stiff with mild pain but overall have been doing really well. (2 years) There are some advances in artificial disks. 11. I was thinking about this last night. I am thinking he will not concede. So, I thought, 'What happens then?' I am guessing it would be up to the RNC to concede. Anyone??????? Jerry Baumchen It was interesting today at the Pence rally, where a Trump supporter said she was willing to start a revolution if Clinton wins. (Although later she clarified that she would only be able to revolt if her hip gets done by January.) Pence looked like he would rather be anyplace else on the planet than where he was. The GOP only has itself to blame. The primary voters themselves were warned by many to no avail. The irony here is that Clinton is weak and unliked. The Dems have no bench and can only muster very old white candidates. That is still the case really... their bench moving forward is terrible while the GOP bench is great, full of young and diverse people. This should have been an easy election for the right and they blew it bc of stupidity. The party elites screwed up by throwing all money behind Jeb!. What a shit show....... I think Hillary is really a moderate and this rhetoric was forced on her by first Obama and then Bernie. She will be staus quo with some damage. I think she is a terrible human being but not as scary as Cheeto boy. I still will not vote for either. Then please, please, please vote your heart and your conscious for a third party that fits your ideals. No, they will not win. However, if a party breaks 5% in a general presidential election they become eligible for federal campaign funding which immediately puts them about $90 Million in the black. If everyone who said 'I really like XYZ but they're just not going to win' actually voted for XYZ, XYZ then becomes a contender. That is the way I have been voting since Trump got the nod. I am voting for something I believe in... a 3rd party getting 5% + so they get funding next cycle. 12. As far as Hillary being a 'moderate,' look at her track record in College - before going under the radar after graduation. Again, I equate being an avowed Marxist/Communist as being on a par with sexual attraction to barnyard animals. If either EVER seemed appealing, claims to have 'gotten over it' fall on deaf ears. When I read Marx, Lenin et al. those many years ago, I concluded that anyone who could buy into this has something severely wrong with them. Going to various Socialist Workers' Paradises thereafter only strengthened that conviction. You could call Hillary a variety of things, but 'moderate' would be one of the least accurate. Based on leaked private speeches I think she is more moderate than you think. It doesn't matter at this point. As soon as the GOP put Trump in it was a lock that we would get HRC as prez. 14. Yup.... a year when people cared more about someone "telling it like it is" and screaming about one issue won out. There were of course other factors that led to the cheeto winning. It was a perfect storm of Fu@#! Hoping that real conservatives/GOP leaders and the younger generation learn from this because it gave us President Hillary Clinton. Primaries are a very different thing as compared to a general. The GOP "base" doesn't get that I guess. It's kind of funny. Given what happened during the 12 primaries, the primaries this time shouldn't be that big of a surprise (Hindsight being 20/20, of course). Romney was a fairly well qualified candidate. Former governor, lots of experience. But he was from a 'political family', and was a 'rich, out of touch' Republican. And a Mormon. So the blue collar, conservative, religious base (you know, the ones 'bitterly clinging to their guns and religion') didn't like him much. So every time any new candidate popped up (Cruz, Perry, Bachman, Cain, ect) they'd have a big surge in the polls, until the base figured out that they were no better, and actually worse than Romney. And they'd fade in a week or so. So along comes Trump. And he tells that base exactly what they want to hear. No matter that it often goes directly against positions he stated prior to entering the race (guns and abortion are the two biggies). Not "political royalty" like Bush, not even an established politician like Cruz or Kaisch. So add up the "exactly what the bigots and xenophobes want to hear", along with the "Anyone but Hillary" crowd, thrown in with the fools and idiots that fall for his con job (Ryoder's comment about psycho/narcissist is dead on) and you have what we have. And while Yogi Berra was right... It ain't over 'til it's over. It's definitely swinging to HRC. She's even seeing rising numbers in Texas. Where a democrat hasn't won in a long, long time. And while it offends me rather deeply to see her take the WH, it doesn't scare me the way a Trump presidency would. Agree to a point but I don't like it when people say the "base" nominated him. The reality is... the guy could not break 50% in most states and more voted for someone else so a great number didn't want Trump. That means the "base" was not for him in a majority. There were too many freaking people running. Too many people that stayed in when they shouldn't have. Clearly the base still rejects Trump which is why he is doing so poorly. He is going to get his clock cleaned as my grandfather used to say. Five Thirty Eight now has Hillary at just under 80% win probability. That's a much stronger lead than Obama had at this point vs Romney. 324 to 213.9 in the electoral college with current projections. That's an a$$ whoopin! http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/?ex_cid=rrpromo That said, clearly there is an element of the party that likes him and it is a shocking amount of them. There is a large number of Union dems that are for Trump also though for probably the same reasons. 16. I think a decent amount though I would probably not be one of them. I live in Ohio so I am close to In. He has a 40% approval rating there for a reason. 17. It's pretty damn close to being over. Fun Fact: Trump is underperforming Romney with white voters. He will do worse with indy's, minorities, etc. His whole "plan" was to turn out the white vote.... oops. 19. I like mine a lot. NOt snag free but less "snaggy" than the stock setup. Super easy to use and great for quick angle changes for different jumps. I was jumping the Cookie roller mount but that thing does not want to stay tight. ON angle jumps or transitions at high speeds it was always moving. 21. iFly say this, *** AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In oral proceedings, the European Patent Office has upheld iFLY's European patent 2287073 as modified. Indoor Skydiving Germany's (ISG's) latest attempt to invalidate iFLY's patents has failed. iFLY's patents covering the key technologies which make vertical wind tunnels safe, cost effective entertainment remain valid and enforceable in Europe, as they are in dozens of other countries around the world. The company confirms that it will continue to aggressively protect its industry-changing technology anywhere it is challenged. The EU Opposition division rejected ISG's novelty arguments and found that iFLY's claims were inventive over the prior art. "This determination by the European Patent Office shows that iFLY's foundational patents are valid and can withstand significant challenges not only in the US but also in the EU," said Alan Metni, CEO of iFLY. "We are gratified that the European Patent Office confirmed that our innovations were both novel and inventive." Metni added, "We will continue to pursue complete protection over the full scope of our invention in every jurisdiction where we operate and will continue to add to our claims through the open applications we have pending around the world, including in Europe." ISG's latest efforts to avoid iFLY's patents come on the heels of iFLY's recent decisive win in the US in which ISG agreed to terminate sales of all vertical wind tunnels in the United States during the duration of iFLY's patents. In 2014, iFLY initiated litigation against ISG for selling a wind tunnel for installation in Phoenix, Arizona. Throughout that litigation, ISG attacked the validity of the SkyVenture patents in both the District Court and the US Patent Office. Those attacks were unsuccessful. On the eve of trial, ISG conceded the validity and enforceability of two of iFLY's patents (U.S. Patents RE43,028 and 7,156,744) and agreed not to attack their validity in the future. As a direct result of the settlement, ISG terminated its Phoenix project, and agreed not to sell any vertical wind tunnel in the US through the duration of those patents - until September 22, 2024. "Based on iFLY's necessary and legitimate enforcement of its patent rights to date, ISG and its principals are precluded from selling vertical wind tunnels of any kind for at least the next eight years in over 40 countries," said Kevin Fiur, iFLY's General Counsel. Fiur added, "Together with outside counsel, David Weaver of Baker Botts, LLP, iFLY will continue to build upon our existing portfolio and take a strong stand wherever we feel others are borrowing our technologies rather than creating on their own." About iFLY Indoor Skydiving: Austin-based iFLY Holdings, LLC is the world leader in design, manufacturing, sales and operations of wind tunnel systems for indoor skydiving. Currently iFLY Holdings holds more than 32 issued and 31 pending patents that cover the US and 54 countries around the world. Under the brand names iFLY, SkyVenture, and Airkix (recently re-branded as iFLY), the Company has flown more than 7,000,000 people in a dozen countries since launching the modern vertical wind tunnel industry in 1998. iFLY has 55 facilities operating, with an additional 21 in various stages of construction. iFLY is continually searching for new locations in the USA and around the globe. iFly lost. Their recent patent is an attempt to extend their original patent that is getting ready to expire. I doubt they will have much luck with that but patents are not about what they say. They are about the money behind them and the willingness to fight. It seems iFly is very willing to fight so that may work out for them. ISG seems willing to fight also though and in this case..... ISG won. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Muff Brother #4382 Dudeist Skydiver #000 www.fundraiseadventure.com
