  3. Hey guys, like I will be in the Moab Utah area for the next 10 days. Talk to the Arner of the drop Zone today just trying to find a rafting buddy... Mine bailed out and I have to raft while I'm there!!!! I plan on jumping this coming Sunday 8 AM to 11 AM... maybe more if fun jumpers will meet me there. Just throwing this out there to see if I can find any adventure buddies :-). Peace "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  4. Ohara Jane Callahan named after John O'hara, born May 30, 2009. July 2008, Adam teaching me how to skydive. "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  5. +1 sheeesh, some of these guys are always looking for a fight of ANY kind. When I saw the words "45 degree angle" I thought to myself "oh shit.....here it comes." You haven't lost any credibility in my book and I've been lurking these forums for many moons now. thanks for all you've done for the sport Brian. 6. I only jumped with Scarey on my AFF level 1 jump. He was a great swooper and skydiver! Condolences to his friends and family we lost a great skydiver and he will be missed by many. Fly Free Sean. "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  7. I actually agree with this part hey we are all human and if we'll just start treating others like WE prefer to be treated then eventually it would all equal out (in a perfect world only of course) but why not try being the better person and just rise above the average "who cares" or "they are just being too sensitive" humans out there. Maybe just a little more caring would go a long way. When I receive criticism, so matter who it comes from, I will spend some time internalizing it and evaluating it....sometimes, I find that I do need some minor correction in this area or that. And you know, I was called fat at one point in life (after my first child) know what I did?! I proved them wrong, now I kick ass in just about every kind of racing there is. There is a special quality in those who can see the beauty in everything and everyone they encounter....and let me just say, life is much more pleasant with that perspective. as far as the op...well the writer of the article is entitled to her opinion just as you are entitled to yours....she just has a broad platform and yours....well, you have dizzy.com so keep on keeping on, but I do lurk here often enough to know that maybe after all your "theraputic" posting online here you might be ready for another relationship someday and I wish you the very best
  8. Just another skydiving-related incident? absolutely!! "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  9. Skip, You will be missed! I never had the pleasure of jumping with you but I enjoyed your stories and your video genius! Blue skies forever! -jess "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  10. While I have not had an injury I did have an unexpected pregnancy (haha) around jump 36, so I had to put jumping on hold and that was NOT what I wanted to do. But I worked manifest out at the dz and spent as much time out there as possible during that 9 months. I was "paid" in jumps so by the time I did get back into the air I had many many jumps saved up.....being at the dz will be the best place for you to decide whether or not to continue in this sport. It is dangerous, It can kill you or injure you horribly. Sitting around packing gear and learning everything you can about the gear, the people, the stories and the dangers....Good luck to you!!! and like billvon said, the sky will always be there! 11. awesome!!! If skydiving wasn't so exspensive I would spend way more time rafting! I heart rafting!
  12. Oh yeah, like anybody's ever done that. I did. I felt like I could have taught my FJC. and I will have to say that it was refreshing to those who taught me how to skydive. I visited three different dz within my area and I went to the one I decided to jump at every weekend for a month leading up to my FJC, I watched the students land and briefing etc. It was well worth it. 15. very cool that you have video of your entire student progression! Thanks for sharing! BLUE SKIES!
  16. FUNNY. I run, bike and swim way more often than I skydive.
  17. I drive 250 miles to the closest dz. (one way:) that is almost exactly 3:45 each way not to mention the cost of gas plus the cost of skydiving. the last drive I made out was weathered out....but it was borderline, I stayed at the dz during the weekend, and made sure the winds didn't level off...but let me tell you, it was borderline and was a difficult decision not to jump but better to live to jump another day, can't let the drive influence my safety margins. -jess "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  18. TRIATHLON!! I am doing that now but if I had to stop skydiving, I'd have more money and time for more racing "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
  19. Very cool Martin!! how much for the fun jumpers!? "A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen

  23. guess I need to work on my C license now I figured as much though as I know the landing area is crowded there...plus I do enjoy my home dz sdsd. you can beat SR a their game, need to do some serious serious work on website building etc. you'll have all the marines in your backyard
  24. I vaguely knew julien, and I will say that he was always a very friendly face at the dz. I watched that news clip, I didn't know him well enough to know all he had done, but he was a "bright light". Blue skies Julien!
