I'm sure the effect will be as immense as what we saw after Laura Croft Cradle of Life. Remster

Yeah. I'm sure you dont... Remster

The team TT is pretty short... I dont expect a lot of time differences between Leopard, Saxo, Shack, and BMC... But yeah, the race is already very different. It'll be 3 weeks of aggression I think! All those EPO vials would have been useful! lol Remster

I wont post any spoilers for those who Tivo, but wow... Talk about an eventful first day! One of the favorite has really to push hard now... And what about that stupid spectator.... Remster

And the current gold rush could (probably should) collapse at any minute. What, exactly, is the intrinsic value of gold anyway? It's only "valuable" because people say it is. Same as paper money. It's a bit more difficult to extract from the ground than paper money is to print, but if the zombie-apocalypse ever came to pass, it would be less valuable than a clean cup of drinking water. Commercial applications. And it takes huge industries to extract and make it useful efficiently. Ah.. No. Gold's use is mostly for cosmetic dentistry and jewelry. Industrial applications is pittance. But then again, you could say you were right, since jewelery is a commercial application . And of course huge industries extract it! With fools willing to pay $1,500 /oz for it! lol Remster

The "45 degree rule" for exit separation DOES NOT WORK
Remster replied to kallend's topic in Safety and Training
We're not defensive... Really.. Now STFU!!!!! Seriously, you are right. As long as people are people, some guy or gall may slip through the cracks when it comes to making sure they really understand something. What worries me if "the lot at Eloy" part of his statement. One bad apple is one thing, a basket full of them another... I'll have a chat with Ian and Brian next weekend, and see if we can have another pass at educating people. Maybe we think it's a dead matter since this was explained and institutionalized se well a few years ago, but, it may be time for a refresher... Remster -
Some very ugly IAD technique... I havent tossed students out in a few years, but the technique that guy uses scares the shit out of me... I don't think he would have passed any CSPA rating classes... Remster

Benefits to being a bigger jumper?
Remster replied to charlie5's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I just said that you're not that big for your height.... You shouldn't need a very baggy jumpsuit. In fact, if you were to do 4way in my team, you'd want a tight nylon comp suit. I'm 6'2" 225, and I normally jump a poly-cotton comp type suit: I find it's the right combination for 4way and larger ways with a fast fall rate. I also have a pretty baggy poly-cotton one when I do "fun jumps" when the fall rate is usually much slower. But really, dont worry about this too much yet. Do your AFF, and then worry about it. At 6'4" and 219 i wouldn't call the OP that big tho.... He's pretty tall, so his fall rate shouldn't be ballistic. Remster -
The "45 degree rule" for exit separation DOES NOT WORK
Remster replied to kallend's topic in Safety and Training
Not to take this into dz bashing (Im pretty sure it's not your intent) but what freaking lot at Eloy told him that?????? We've been using time based delays based on ground speeds and group sizes for a few years, with posted guidelines in the planes and the hangar.... Sigh in deed... Remster -
A few years ago, I traveled with my kids to Barcelona and unwittingly took them to a topless beach. After a few minutes of taking in the atmosphere my teenage son said, "why is it that the only women who are topless are the ones that you really don't want to see naked?" At least, that's how it was on that day. Andrea, dear, there is no such thing as a topless beach over there. It's just [I]a[/] beach lol... Remster

The "45 degree rule" for exit separation DOES NOT WORK
Remster replied to kallend's topic in Safety and Training
That's why, normally, you want belly jumper out 1st, followed by freeflyers. This adds to the separation, as opposed to taking away from it if you went FFer, then RW. Remster -
Considering all these locked threads are really her fault, she should get a few days ban out of this! Remster

Have you ever met anyone who believes in the 2012 end of the world

Sacrifice a few hundred virgins, and pass some rope through your tongue, and you may get close to the credibility they have... Remster -

But these go to 11! On a totally treker geek level, that's just what Star Trek did with TNG... 10 became the max theoretical max level. And yes, there's a formula behind it... Remster

What if a self-professed psychic witnesses an actual murder, and she tells the police about it. Should the police then ignore her simply because she's a psychic? yes JR... this is EXACTLY what JC is saying... Remster

Yep. That no one who reads this thread has the money / financial backing to open one. Tunnels don't just happen: someone puts cash behind it. Remster

The "45 degree rule" for exit separation DOES NOT WORK
Remster replied to kallend's topic in Safety and Training
Did you slap him across the back of the head? Or maybe even better, tell the newbie the real deal? By the way, props for posting your mistake. As you said, fortunately, no one died, and it would have been easy to make this a non issue by checking the spot/speed looking out the door. We all can be reminded of that once in a while... Remster
