Overall, my nutrition/hydration strategy when cycling is: - Any ride 1 hour or less: nothing but water - Rides of about 2 hours: 1 Gu and/or 1 Gatorade water bottle (+1 water) - My 3 hour hammerfest saturday AM ride: 1 Cliff bar for bfast with a large coffee 1/2 hour before the ride; 1 small costo nut bar 5 minute before the ride; 2-3 Gu's during the ride; 1 Gatorade bottle and 1-2 water bottles - Centuries: Gu's every 1/2 hour; 1/2 a Cliff bar every hour; 2-3 gatorade bottles; as much water as I can get.
