Thanks for the info Padraig! That's a shame but sort of what I expected. I'm not positive when I'm going to be there, probably August 24th-30th. It's through trektravel.com so they provide all the routes and make all the lodging plans. Just easier that way. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll look into that for the future. If it's as pretty as I hear it is, I'm sure I'll be back!

Anyone know if there are any around? I'm going to be going on a cycling tour through county Cork this summer but I can probably sneak away to make a jump as long as the DZ isn't too far. Worth getting current if I can make an Ireland jump happen. I didn't see any DZs listed near there in the "Dropzones" section, but heres to hoping.

Heard there was was some Skittles talk. You folks are correct. Finished school in March, moved back to Chicago. I did sell both my main and reserve simply because of the wing loadings after losing all the weight I have. Went to summerfest to hang out but no jumping. I set skydiving to the side for now. I'm focusing on finishing my triathlon training strong. Just don't have the time to be on DZ.com all the time anymore. I'm also searching for jobs and hoping to buy new canopies and get back in the sky once I have a job that I feel has a decent amount of security. So it's not a permanent thing. I'd call it an "involuntary layoff due to lack of time and funding". Stay safe kids. I'm outtie 5000.

Thank you for the offer. That's very kind of you. I love our community. However, I should have been more specific about my route. I'll be on I-75 all the way through GA then I get on I-24 to transfer from I-75 to I-65. So I'm not actually on I-65 until I reach Nashville. I have a feeling I'll be driving all the way through anyway. This was more of a just in case.

That's a good idea. I didn't even think of that. I'm not sure if it's on our coverage but I do know we have very good coverage. Definitely something I will do before leaving just in case. Thanks for the suggestion.

I leave FL to head back to IL in 1-2 days. I am going to try driving straight through but in the event that I can't make that happen I would appreciate advice on where I can stay without having to fear my car being broken into. I have literally the last year of my life in the back of my car. I think the earliest I'd stop is Nashville, TN. After that I'd be looking to make it to big milestones in my drive before stopping. Milestones such as Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN. In which areas around these cities can I be fairly confident my stuff will be safe? Thanks. Edit: to fix some atrocious grammar.

I was gonna ask my old man these questions because he's been on both sides of the interview table but it has been to no avail as of yet. And I don't think I'll get him before my interview in a few hours. So, I will ask them here in hopes there has been someone on the interviewer side as well as the interviewee side. First is it rude for an interviewee to take notes during the interview? Second, what are some important questions to ask that you think I may not have considered asking? Thanks

The consensus seems to be that the brilliance of colors you get with Velvia cannot be beat for landscapes but that it is overly saturated for portraits. Film isn't dead just yet. This will be my first medium format camera and I'm excited to start shooting film again (first time in 4ish years). Instant is back too just in case you were wondering. The Impossible Project makes some nice Polaroid films. I picked myself up an SX-70 for this purpose.

What is you favorite 120 color negative or slide film? I picked up a couple rolls of Ektar 100 that I will be shooting this weekend and I'm going to try getting a roll of portra 400VC as well. I hear excellent things about Velvia 50 and 100 in the slide film category and I intend to give that a try as well. Are there any other color films I should try out before I pick one of these as my go to film?

This is the worst link of them all! Wikipedia doesn't go into enough technical detail and google is worthless on this one. I'm hoping someone knows of a book I can read or videos I can watch. Or a hidden gem somewhere on the interwebz.

Nice try, tool. I was talking about professionals in the industry or people extremely knowledgeable on the subject that can recommend sources from any form of media. They still make books and videos. The internet isn't the only source of information...

I'm not trying to become the next MMA world champion. I just want to have fun while I get in shape. I don't enjoy running the way I used to. I guess the question for those in the know is actually which one would give me a better weight loss workout? Please note: It's pretty much limited to these 2, based on gyms in my area.

Yes I found that offensive because of how disrespectful she was earlier in the day. It was a tiny little thing but it was the straw that broke the camel's back the saying goes. She pulled me and my roommates into her office and belittled us for 5 minutes because she checked the housing and the trash hadn't been taken out. Yup she yelled at us and insulted us because the trash wasn't taken out. And I would and will say it to her face but I couldn't wait until tomorrow to get it off my chest.
