  1. Garbage - Stupid Girl You don't have to outrun the bear.
  2. It's possible because of lazy cops, corrupt judges, and a public who still try to be civil. It's this sort of government corruption that keeps the Taliban in business in Afghanistan. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  3. Probably a reflection on the window glass that made you look black. After he pulled you over, the cop was too embarrassed to admit his mistake. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  4. You might have just highlighted the difference between working with people who want to solve problems and working with Congress. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  5. Recurve bow, 30 yards, no sights. As you can see from the target, they don't usually get that close. That's why I took the picture. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  6. There's a Youtube video by Tyler Goshawk showing a jump at Edmonton. There's also this on Barrel Horse World There's no way the above was written by a native Canadian speaker, so I imagine the real Tyler has been unfairly maligned by someone from somewhere else (maybe Nigeria, since "Grace Daniels" is also called out in a 419 scam in a thread on another website) by the way, barrel racers are the bomb You don't have to outrun the bear.
  7. What you describe is already rape under existing law because the "dead drunk" woman is not capable of consent. In fact, the California law is really a requirement for state funded schools to have a policy in place. It doesn't really say people must change their behavior; just that there has to be a policy that says they should. Kind of like a warning label. I'm still trying to think of ways to prove consent, so how about this. What if the partners have to agree on a certain payment for certain sex acts, followed by money changing hands. Wouldn't that prove consent? Problem solved. You're welcome, California. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  8. Another technical point: This still boils down to one person saying "of course my partner said yes", and the other saying "uh, no I didn't". I'm pretty sure the next step will be a requirement for either video proof or an eyewitness to consent. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  9. One option would be for the President to ask Congress for a declaration of war against ISIL. At least then, the lame-ass, spineless congressmen could put their money where their mouth is. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  10. I'm pretty sure Leslie Irvin would have hired Tiny Broadwick. They were contemporaries. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  11. ...local authorities high on political correctness. There's a little more to it than this. If you'll go over all the information that's been made public (read BBC news or the Guardian e.g.) you'll see that physical evidence (victim's clothing) was provided to police, and the police "lost" the evidence. Victims' families asked police for protection. The police told them they could not provide any. The cops were in on this. And they're white. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  12. I've got something to say about it, but you ain't gonna to like it. You can vote and protest all you want to, but the way to get laws changed is to take a congressman to lunch. Unless you can afford to do that, you're stuck. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  13. I think I've said this on here before, but vets put dogs, horses, etc. to sleep all the time - quickly, humanely, effectively. Are our elected officials too goddamn stupid to ask a veterinarian what he uses to put down a 1200 pound horse? You don't have to outrun the bear.
  14. I can understand how a guy drives a car into a tree, but I'm sure neither of us condones things that shouldn't be done. I'd break this down into two cases: The student is getting it but slowly. Spend more time on the ground, even if he has to come back tomorrow (or later) to actually jump. The student will never get it. Yes, this happens. Not everybody can or should skydive. I generally find that going over the exercise slowly and carefully with positive corrections will eventually let the student see that he's not getting it. More often than not, the student will say something like, "I don't know if I'm ready for this" or "I didn't know it would be this hard". At that point, I say "Why not do a tandem for your first jump? There's less pressure and they're lots of fun." By this time, the student is usually looking for a way out, so they agree immediately. If they've already done a tandem, I suggest a second tandem. If they just aren't getting it and don't realize they aren't, I'll tell them something like "When you jump out of a plane and the adrenaline hits, you're going to revert to habit. Whatever you're doing on the ground is what you're going to do in the air. If you can't go thru the exercises here on the ground, I can't let you get on that plane." It's rare that things get to that point, but that usually does it. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  15. It's usually not the reserve that fails, but the decision making by the wearer. I doubt if that one-in-a-billion scenario would be realized. and Likestojump: my hat's off to the guy who photographed that jump. Those are cool pictures. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  16. There was way more social unrest in the '60s than now. The conflict between radical Islam and the western democracies began a long time before BHO came on the scene. Some of you guys are giving Obama too much credit for his influence on world affairs. If you want to argue that he should be doing something differently, make that argument and I'm pretty sure I'll agree with you, but don't blame him for stuff he didn't start. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  17. ...appropriate for bonfire... that's pretty funny right there. That guy has a great sense of humor. He really brightens the day. Thanks for sharing. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  18. "At what number of military does it actually become Boots on the ground? " Sorry, I spoke too soon. Looks like you need more than 600 personnel to actually have boots on the ground. Stay tuned for further updates. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  19. Hi Jerry, True story from the Johnny Carson show. (Some of you might have seen this). Jane Fonda was a guest on Johnny's show. She sat in the chair next to Johnny holding a cat in her lap. As she was petting the cat, she said to Johnny, "Would you like to pet my pussy?" Johnny replied, "I would ... if you would move that damn cat." You don't have to outrun the bear.
  20. 5 years behind. Yeah, probably. At one time in the not too distant past, Social Security had a computer system that took more than a month to run a monthly report. (that's not a joke) But what do you think the IRS would say if they called you in for an audit and you told them you only keep records for 6 months? You don't have to outrun the bear.
  21. What's the point of staying dry on the beach if you can't see beautiful fish? What's the point of breakfast without sausage? You don't have to outrun the bear.
  22. The F-4 was supposed to be all things to all people. It didn't need a gun. By the time it's reign was over, we had the F-14, the F-15, the F-16. the F/A-18, and the A-10. They all had guns, and the F-4 had a gun pod. The reason this keeps happening has nothing to do with stealth or armament and everything to do with who took a Congressman to lunch. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  23. Apparently he never heard about that impeachment thing that Congress can do if the President doesn't follow the law. You don't have to outrun the bear.
  24. "At what number of military does it actually become Boots on the ground? " Apparently somewhere north of 270. "Statement from Pentagon Press Secretary RADM John Kirby on DoD Support to US Embassy Baghdad At the request of the U.S. State Department, the Department of Defense continues to provide security assistance for embassy personnel inside Iraq. Over the weekend, a number of teams totaling approximately 170 U.S. personnel began arriving in Baghdad from within the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility. We have also moved approximately 100 personnel into the region to provide airfield management, security, and logistics support, if required." You don't have to outrun the bear.
  25. 1. American soldiers need to know that their country will do what it takes to get them home. That's worth a lot under any circumstances. 2. Congress can't do anything without attaching a bill to repeal Obamacare. Mitch McConnell is still trying to make Obama a one-term president. I've gotta cut the Administration some slack when it comes to notifying or working with Congress. 3. Obama has never shown negotiating skill or a particular reliance on facts, so it's entirely believable that his administration had all the facts and still made the decision they did. 4. Getting accused by the FBI (Richard Jewell, et. al.) is a lot different than getting accused by your own squad members. 5. The prisoners who were traded can make the Taliban marginally more effective. A drone strike can make them marginally less effective. Don't worry about it. 6. B's activities need to be investigated. We would all be better off if the news media and the administration would be guided more by facts and less by politics and opinions. I know; that last sentence comes from a fantasy world. OK, gotta go feed the Unicorn. Carry on. You don't have to outrun the bear.
