Mine is not because i'm full of smarts. I have a brain airbrushed on top of my full face helmet so that it looks as if my helmet has come open and you can see the brain inside. Ditto quade. Some of the students at our dz are taught a long slow flare as opposed to a "two stage" flare. Think of it more as flying your canopy all the way to the end, even as you are flaring. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

What Dave said seems to be echoe'd among staff packers that i have met/used. There is a packer at our dz who literally runs out to the landing area if there is a cutaway to see if the person is ok and is genuinely concerned if someone has a bad opening. I bought my first main (used) through square1 so i felt pretty comfortable doing it. They sent it cod and i got it in like 5 days. I thought the brain thing would be funny to students (tandems) that were sitting behind me on the plane. Gives them something to smile at and helps to relax, imo. It also gives swoopers something to positively identify me in formations, cause i regularly change rigs and jumpsuits. Hello everyone. I have been lurking the forums for some time and recently got road runner at work so now i can be online all day. I enjoy reading the threads for both information and entertainment. My user name is not meant to be self describing, my helmet has a brain airbrushed on the top of it. Just thought i would clarify that. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

I have about 150 jumps on cobalts. I know that is relatively little experience but after demo'ing one i ordered a brand new 135. My dzo was kind enough to let me jump his 135 untill mine came in. I have had a few strange openings but, like stated before, i knew it was going to be bad as soon as i threw out. There are approx 8-10 cobalts at my home dz and everyone loves them. I am planning on buying another one for my second rig. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

We used to have a Farmer McNasty. One day the DZO was riding up and down the fencline that divides the dz and McNasty's land FIXING the fence here and there. McNasty asked him what he was doing and he said, "From time to time skydivers land on your land and they have to climb over. I just wanted to make sure that there weren't any holes for your cattle to get out." From then on, no more problems with Farmer McNasty. If we have a cutaway and loose a freebag or something, the DZ will actually call him and let him know we will be out there looking for it. No more problems, just a little give and take.
