I thought I heard that the new Sabre 2 was also a 9 cell instead of a 7 cell. If so it would have all the attenuated advantages therein. Drewfus McDoofus

"just want to be friends" - the five words of death. It would be ok if women had the same definition of a friend of the opposite sex. For men a woman friend is a female you haven't had sex with YET. As far as I am concerned, I can have sex with my female friends. Actually al lthe better. I can burp, fart, scratch, and leave at 3:30 am on them. Too bad they don't see it that way, huh? I have had it. My timing stinks, all the women I meet and like are either crazy, heartbroken, or have serious issues. From now on I am only worrying about head down, bottoms up, and falling over. Are you with me brothers?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Drewfus McDoofus -
I have a vest, as others have said I hardly use it anymore. It makes my reserve ripcord pillow stick out kind of funny but is otherwise fine. Have never tried a belt, so no info there. I think as others have said that you should try both and see what's more comfy. I know skydivers with 1000's of skydives who can fly their bodies just fine but still wear weigths. Drewfus McDoofus

How long before you felt video proficient?
airdrew20012001 replied to SniperCJ's topic in Photography and Video
It toook me a while before I felt I was worth the money they were paying me to shoot tandems. One thing that helps is too look at the video other people shoot and compare that way. Four way is a lot tougher than people give it credit for so don't feel bad. As far as funnelling the four way, that has to happen. The idea is to get tight and steep on the formation so no grips are missed. At the same time you are supposed to keep the heading so the team can see if they are spinning, tough stuff. One person told me to not wear gloves so you can feel the edge of the burble with your fingers to keep from pancaking them. Even then, I have seen video of Arizona Airspeed and the Golden Knights where the videographer has come through the team. I have booties on my wing suit but not on the freefly suit I use to shoot tandems, PM if you want a longer description of why I do that. As far as a number, closer to 50 to 100 for me, but that's just me. i am pretty damn critical of my own stuff. Hope that helps, keep clicking. Drewfus McDoofus -
I got a Connon Rebel EOS G with Velbon Quick release plate: http://www02.bhphotovideo.com/default.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ProductActivator__Aproductlist_html___139210___VEQRA635___REG___CatID=0___SID=EDDD5439B20 Works like a charm for me. Drewfus McDoofus

Make sure it has a lanc jack and a firewire jack as well. If you don't, you will regret it. I had a JVC and it was ok but I wish I had spent the money on a good sony instead. Also want to check to see if you can make digital still with it. If you can't, you'll wish you could. Drewfus McDoofus

I shot video of my roomates mom about a week. She enjoyed it but said she never wanted to do it again. I also saw a lady land unconcious in California. When she came to all she could say was, "That certainly sucked". Drewfus McDoofus

I don't know shit about cameras...Help!!
airdrew20012001 replied to freeflir29's topic in Photography and Video
Gots to stand up and give props for the TRV 17 as well. It does everything just as well as the PC style video cameras. You can put them in a d-box top mounted on something like an aviator or optik and they'll do everything that a pc side mounted will do. Drewfus McDoofus -
I have been doing a lot of both and here's what I think: I like an agressive carve over a snapping hook turn and can generate the same amount, if not more, ground speed. The snapping hook turn is dangerous as hell too because you have a lower margin of error and must really commit to the turn. If you don't have exactly the right altitude on a carve you can over carve then come back if you are too high or stop a little short and use a little harness input to straighten yourself out if too low. If you are too low on a snapper then you have to panic stab and pray for the best results. This is doubly true during the learning phase. If you are concerned about taking up too much airspace with a carve then you might think about opening higher, staying in brakes longer, landing further away or what have you. I wouldn't recommend snapping a hook turn in heavy traffic for the same reasons of commitment and lower margin of error. But hey, that's just what I think. Drewfus McDoofus

So many canopies, so little credit line...
airdrew20012001 replied to GrumpySmurf's topic in Gear and Rigging
I agree, that's what I did. I went from a triathalon 160 that I had totally maxed the performance out on to a stilletto 135. Just be really cognizant that you are in a whole new ball game and have to start over from scratch. I went beck to striaght in landings with a little double front riser. I am now back to 90s but was cranking pretty agressive 270's before I made the change. Drewfus McDoofus -
When does age difference become an issue?
airdrew20012001 replied to wceviper's topic in The Bonfire
I once heard that the youngest you should date is half your age plus seven. I am 34 and dated someone who was 23 for a very short time, it was cool and all but the age difference, plus the fact that she quickly lost interest in me, turned out to be too much. Drewfus McDoofus -
If you can find a stilletto that would let you jump it at a lighter wing loading than 1.5:1 I would suggest you try that. I jump one loaded at 1.35:1 and love it. The openings are a bit squirly but they are fun as heck to fly. Whatever you do, if you change to a fully or highly eliptical canopy try stepping down slowly. As a friend once said, small canopies bite hard. Drewfus McDoofus

What flight characteristics are important to you??
airdrew20012001 replied to rhino's topic in The Bonfire
Really fast whipper openings at least 180 off heading. Overly twitchy turning with tons of oversteer, really heavy rear riser preasure, almost no flare, dangerously bad landings. A rainbow of non-matching colors with different colors on every cell (top and bottom) as well as the ribs. Frequent bad locks are nice too. Drewfus McDoofus -
No, but I am going to call and ask them as well as that dingbat Lisa at S1 and if I get the wrong answer they are all jerkoffs! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Drewfus McDoofus

A) that's what I did at first and it did help B) make sure it doesn't cover your cutaway handles I agree that going with a full FF suit is best, I would go with that. Drewfus McDoofus
