  1. That's awesome about Thanksgiving. You know I'll be there because, hey, it's where I live. And Somebody and the Something Somethings absolutely rocks. Is there a collection at manifest or do we give our money to Mike W.? Karen- Sometimes Melinda, Mary, Margot, Margaret, Martin () and I do some pretty cool 6 way head down stuff when no one else is around. Everyone has pink hair now, but we might change it for this weekend. It all started when Eric called me Marilyn for a day. Downhill from there.
  2. I'll be there later than the regular FF Friday time- probably just for sunset. I have to make up time at work because I'm moving out there (mattress, cat, more books...) this afternoon. Mike- I'd love to be on your 100th. I'm not going to Bridge Day, so I'll be there. It seems like we're pieing someone every weekend! -Maureen/Mallory Edited to add: David- you'll like my nail polish this week. Sort of a thank you for wearing the neon shirt on Sunday. Maybe now I can be the speed star base for the BK number jump? BB?
  3. BB- There's no way I could do that again even if I tried. I fruit looped the entire formation! David and Joe- See you Wednesday! Randy- Come back soon to finish watching the next 2 hours of Jackass episodes, and bring some Chester freaks with you, but keep Jason away from the spicy foods before you visit. Cynci- I'd love to go down to the Keys, but I'm short on $$$ right now. I think a bunch of CSSers will be in Florida at the end of December, so we'll definitely have to meet up somewhere warm and sunny.
  4. Martin? Dude, I thought we were sticking with girls' names. That was a really good pieing. I just pulled a glob of Hershey's syrup out of the corner of my eye. Are you still planning on being out there on Wednesday? If you are, I'll probably see you there (if only for sunset).
  5. Sorry you're sick, Dawn. We had ANOTHER freeflyer show up yesterday (Jason from Chester). Friday just brings all the freaks out, I guess. Jason, David, and I had a fun upside down casa load-before-sunset. You missed a pretty funny scene as there were only four slots available on one of the King Air loads- two went to Jason and David, because they hadn't jumped yet, and we picked numbers to see who would get the other two. (Eric and I won ) Speaking of David, he wore this crazy navy blue and white swirly jumpsuit! Watch out, dude, or you'll get your BK number revoked. Oh, and I'm pretty sure you can blame my kick ass trailer with the electric slide out for any after hours fun.
  6. Mike, you crack me up. -Milinda/Margret/Marilyn/Marion
  7. Probably not Wednesday, because it's my brother's birthday. -Margret/Marilyn/Marion/whatever
  8. Dude. Please don't crash my new trailer. I'll be out there sometime during the week with black and white fake fur and a staple gun. Probably Thursday. Eric- if I paint the trailer like Optimus Prime, do you think I could make the electric slideout part of the transforming mechanism? Black Knights- y'all should check out David's gear. All black and white. Maybe he could grab the #3 slot? (I've already been denied membership because I'm too colorful.)
  9. It's really not the trailer that's dangerous- it's the race to get there first.
  10. Eric Miller: [email protected] Joseph Kwon: [email protected] David Jennings: [email protected] Ellis Lopez: [email protected]/[email protected] Marion Grabarek-Matthews: [email protected] David- It was cool to get some jumps in with you yesterday. You don't match the gear color scheme, but you'll blend in just fine in the trailer! See you next weekend. Joe- You have to admit that was just about the most graceful face plant in the mud you've ever seen. I finally cut my shoelaces shorter this morning! A friend at work just gave me a little grill, so lets have a FF Friday cookout!
  11. Hurricane party in a trailer- sounds fun. I'll be out there around 5 because I have to do some laundry and pick up some stuff at my apartment (tv, sheets, hurricane party supplies...)
  12. Joe- awesome show. I'll be at the DZ this afternoon, but late because I took a lot of time off yesterday. (Sorry Ellis.) Tonight will be my FIRST night in the trailer! Looks like good trailer weather: "Rain, becoming heavy at times with isolated tornadoes." At least I'll know right away whether there are any leaks. Is anyone else going to be out there?
  13. I might be there too- depends on how long I can tear myself away from my NEW TRAILER!!!!!!
  14. The last one left us alone, so maybe Ivan will too. (Just try to find in depth weather analysis like that from NOAA ) Even if it rains, this is going to be a fun weekend. Check out my new trailer! Arriving in time for Freefly Friday, of course. Justin- will you be jumping on Friday?
  15. I'll be there Friday-Sunday. And Ellis: I promise to be there by 2 on Friday. Is that ok? Marion
  16. "Assuming there will be a group." Justin! There's always a group on Freefly Friday
  17. I met Kuske at Cross Keys one weekend and kept bumping into him all over the east coast. My first day at Sebastian, he was the first person I saw in the parking lot, and it was great to see a familiar face. He told me some story about not being allowed to drive on the landing area anymore- something about broken glass and car parts all over the place one morning.
  18. I took the rigging course at Eloy in January and it was great. I was amazed by how much they taught me about rigging in a couple of weeks. (I had no sewing experience before I got there and I left with a rigger's tool kit that I put together myself!) If you decide to go for the course, it's a good idea to hang out with your rigger beforehand to get a feel for the basics of packing etc. And, like Lisa said, the study guide and Poynter manuals are a great resource.

    Triathlon

I have a Trithlon with the same loading (1.1) and I love it. I've put about 200 jumps on it and it has never really whacked me on opening- if anything, it tends to snivel. I pro pack it, tuck the nose in slightly, and roll the tail a little. I used to fly a Sabre and I definitely don't roll the Tri's tail as tight. Also, I haven't had any problems with off heading openings. It's a really good all around canopy.

    New House!!!

That's awesome, Stacy! I'll definitely have to take a Cross Keys road trip this spring to check it out.
