  1. Have fun , Never , Never foget your first jump or your first skydive too . Keep jumping all winter . It get a bit cold here in Wisconsin your a bit south of us but you will have fun . Remember safty on every skydive . And come March or so " safty day " ? Ask , learn , enjoy.
  2. Once your licensed it's not so bad . Start with used rig. Is there any work at the DZ . (packing , cleaning ,cutting lawn ? Anything that they might remburst or trade for jumps ? Ask. Give it some time . Have fun hangging out too. One step at a time you will get what you what.
  3. Don't get down on yourself . Everyone proble did that too . Relax ! Turn slow . If you start spinning, relax check aliuded every 5 seconds , check the SIMS pull at right altiude is #1, so your spinning , you might for sure have line twist so what. Did you learn from your last jump ? Do it again and you just might have fun. Do you know what happened on that jump"right and wrong ?" Pull at the correct altuide , the ground wins. You do have a AAD . But You do have your handle to open your main first, the aad is a back up.
  4. Have your landing videoed , then YOU can see and make changes . In the past I have seen that to some people . Are you flarinf to early or to late ? Mabye flare in stagges. come down half way , then as your canopy starts to plane out finsish your flare. Get it videoed
  5. Every DZ is a bit differnt . The student want to be part of "the group" . They want to learn , meet new freinds , have fun and be safe . Remember yourself when you started . And remember the 3 part of a skydive . 1-freefall 2-canopy 3- campfire And if they do that they will have fun , thats why they skydive, to have fun.
  6. Mine is 2000ft. But I ralley open my main that low. If you have a malfunction at say 3000 you can lose 1000ft in seconds and if there is any other problem with cutting your main away you might be geting very low.
  7. Depends on the aircraft . Tailgate, ok . Any side door air plane the droug all the pinsare in the relative wind . If there is any closing loop or bridle exposed and worst case of thing to happen , a closing loop brakes or bridle is out . And your chute comes out . It's going to be bad . As far as stablity the TI just needs to fly there body and get control of the wind .Remember...every student is going to kill you and it your job to figure out how . And you wil be on your toes thinking safty on every skydive.Quote
  8. There is a time to party , a time to get sober. You EARN respet in the sport by being safe. The hot doggers maybe good and fun to watch , but people remember and trust the ones who are safe . I have being on a skydive (solo) not all sobered up , it's not good. I did not get hurt but it's best after a night of partying not to jump. Take yourself of the load . There should be stuff to do on the ground . Clean the beer frig, do stuff on the computer. Look at dropzones forums ..Quote
