  1. lol.... and theres a whole other thread about how each dz awards one every year...... Flopped thread...... I guess it just wasent as interesting as a post about good 'ol Bill Dause....
  2. if the OP had not written and had instead written "Bill Dause, DZO of the Parachute Center, Lodi, Ca. Recieved the a Chesley H. Judy USPA safety award 2 weeks ago at our Parachute Center Awards ceramony:" it would have been less misleading. Misleading my Ass...... "A" or "The" in that sentence makes little diference in how people take the information..... The sad thing is everyone is always so ready to bash lodi, because we do shit our own way..... its funny how more than 3/4 of lodi jumpers are uspa members, and 1/2 of them are world championship skydivers...... even Bill is a uspa member he just isnt a dzo uspa member wich keeps our jump tickets low.... someone do the math and tell me its all about money at lodi?
  3. Bill Dause, DZO of the Parachute Center, Lodi, Ca. Recieved the Chesley H. Judy USPA safety award 2 weeks ago at our Parachute Center Awards ceramony: This award is given to the skydiver who, through example, deed, training, or innovation, had promoted safe skydiving in a substantive way. Congrats Bill on keeping the sport safe and fun for all of us.....
  4. When you make a decision.... you have to live with it..... jumping from anything is a decision....... when shit dosent go as planned you have to deal and live with it........ Hey i feel for the guy, could have been any one of us..... but we all know the risk in this sport...... live with your decision.....
  5. Thanks for the info, was looking forward to this boogie, guess ill have to wait and see what happens.
  6. Anyone know why this boogie was cancelled?
  7. I'll be there for sure, wingsuit and all...... Strong possibility that me and the old lady are going to do the skydive wedding at the boggie, since Cate is Ordained....... but I havent drank enough beer yet to be sure about that idea......
  8. the science part of wingsuiting is great, but the landing a wingsuit without a parachute is not!!! Im honestly hoping that Jeb DOSENT attempt it (He said he'd have a base rig on incase the approach wasent right if he decides to try it...) Its stupid! and I don't want to read or hear about how he went in trying... an idea that shouldnt be published in any magazine... we have parachutes on our back for a reason, they are proven to work!! people go to airshows to see planes crash people go to car races to see cars crash..... people will watch a person try to land a wingsuit, why? to see him crash!! sorry if im coming off wrong but im just sick of hearing about landing the wingsuit we dont need anymore bad publicity, Im a very current wingsuiter (not saying im the best or anything), so i feel like I can give my 2 cents.... I understand what your trying to do with your article, and can respect it, but think the landing idea should be left out...
  9. The closest DZ to San Jose, ca Would be Byron, ive never jumped there but have heard that wind is a regular problem there, Again Just what ive heard, you could go to parachute center in lodi, usually pretty busy on weekends and jumps are damn cheap out of excellent aircraft... its about 1:45 mins from san jose but well worth the drive... hope that helps....
  10. now thats funny...... question: what actually made you watch this video while surfing youtube? you must have been looking for pointers for your next street dance battle royal...
  11. at least Brian Drake wasent there this weekend to film it and put whitney houstin music in the back ground......
  12. Where else would I be on a weekend?? See ya there...
  13. 1-209-369-1128 heres the number, speak with bill (hes the only guy who answers the phone) don't be alarmed if he says just come on out, were open 365 days planes are running, weather is great... its just the way bill is you will never get a straight answer from him.. bunkhouses arent to bad...the va jj should be safe unless you veture out with the beer goggles on....
  14. Looked on the skydive oregon website and there is no information on registering, the dates for the boggie are on the calander but no info on registration...
  15. Lodi has bunkhouses, and bill usually lets paying skydivers stay in them free... or if you have a tent bring it with you.. plenty of places to camp out... there are a few hotels but none within walking distance, Comfort inn and suites in Galt (about 10-15 min drive) is my favorite with cont. breakfast but its about $90 a night... hope this helps.... have you been to the lodi dz before?
  16. this is why this site is useless....... you can't even ask a damn question without some asshole talking smack..... but ill help you, im 6'4" 258lbs not fat, built. Come to Lodi in california we can accomidate you.....The person I recived instruction from a while back had no problems with my size or weight and they even have rental gear in your size.. (and most of it is for sale) you will want to buy your own gear eventually though.... Pm me if you want more info....
  17. Ive feel lucky that i have been able to have lodi as my home dz, $13 jumps to 13k , $5 hop'n'pop's $25 jumps at another dz already feels to high, but i guess i would pay whatever the cost to jump but maybe just have to cut back a bit, maybe when the prices skyrocket (hopefully not) I will have to learn how to base jump...... Im interested in seeing if the electric powered planes make it into our sport, hopefully the cost is cheaper....
  18. I have been more than willing since the day i met the OP to help him out, He has Offered many times to buy me Beer and pay for jumps but I always Decline.. Im Helping because I want to see him become a great skydiver, my compensation is a new friend and somebody to jump with, cant go wrong there, Maybe I was a little strong on my first post, but reaching is his problem, so im trying to break that habbit until he learns to compensate for it.... I never said kirk didnt know what he was talking about I belive he does, I just dissagreed with the reaching at the op's stage... Jeff, im around and willing to help as usuall, But you already new that......
  19. Take my post how you want.... But if you want to start with the PA b.s you should re-read your post where you pa about cleaning up some sand...... dont start it if your not willing to get it in return.. funny how you compare your jump experience to mine, if you did your homework you would have checked my profile a little closer and found that I am A rated Uspa Coach..... looks like i got 1 up on ya!! i dont need to BRAG about how im better than you...
  20. Wow!!! a BIG deal at your drop zone.... Kinda hard to belive with all the comments posted already.. and anyone who has to brag "im kinda a big deal at my Dz" is just sad inside, because really THERE NOT.. but it feels sooooo good inside when you say it... dosent it?? its okay man, dont cry...... you strike me as the kind of guy who walks around the dz like youve been in the sport 25 years and tries to organize exit order just as the plane loads up.... so sad.... You realy should think about your "big deal attitude" mentality like that will only end up bad in this sport... loose the shades buddy there not cool......
  21. BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...., all I hear, Funny everyone wants to chime in an put in there two cents, but I actually jump with the original poster and have been helping him along the way..... For somebody so "Expert" as Kirk Who-ever.... he should know not to tell a STUDENT to reach while trying to dock, I can understand a jumper with some experience reaching and being okay but a jumper with 25 jumps needs to be taught to fly his body not reach And Skittles-of-dc Id watch your sarcasim,.... I can remember reading your newb posts not less than a 8 months ago.. so who are you?? perfect example of somebody who has a license but no skill and walks around the dz telling everyone how to jump....
  22. I Have a New Mirage G4.1 and its sweet very comfortable and very flashy... packing is pretty easy, the D-bag has a split where the first band goes (kinda a pain in the ass for brand new canopies) but i love it Ive jumped a voodo about 12 times and cant see much diference compared to the mirage except price and a few small things..... the way is see it is... if it functions properly every time its a good rig......
  23. Sweet!! I liked the end when he says: " All I can say is... If you Know of anything better, please let me know."
