I'm looking for a 20M skydiver I met at Skydive AZ during Easter Boogie, possibly based out of Albuquerque NM. Can't remember your real name but we called you Smuckers. Your crazy buddies from CO are looking for you. Where you at?? Lauren "Pogo" Newbie with HEART!!

Huge DZ with lots of amenities, great team bunkhouses, and lifts up leaving just about every hour. The main landing area is a bit scary with all the swoopers, but the student area is much calmer, just as well maintained, and not so heavy on the rules. A member of our team had a bad experience with a DZ Napolean who gave him a real hassle, and we ran into more than a few Sky Gods. One of our team got ripped off - someone stole money and stuff from his wallet. Not Cool!! The wind tunnel was AMAZING and took my jumping to a whole new level. Bartender in the DZ bar is a total WITCH. Oh, and SKYVAN. SKYVAN WAS AWESOME!!!

Hey folks! I'm a newbie to the sport and completely in love. I've made one jump and I'm jonesin' for more already. I'm trying to get oriented, though, and was wondering if someone might be willing to explain gear to me. The straight dope, the lowdown as it were, on what gear is right for a starting point, what all the crazy acronyms on the classifieds mean, and just what gear is really most important to pick up first. Keep in mind that I'm in a parachuting club so I have access to the club's gear as far as the chute goes (read:big ticket items covered for now). So who wants to tutor me in skydiving equipment??? Just had my first jump yesterday and I'm HOOKED thanks to Skip and his crew. Skip keeps a really tight ship, with a great atmosphere but a big emphasis on safety while having fun. Everyone made me feel welcome immediately and it was very easy to learn in such a good atmosphere. The instructors and jumpmasters are great and no one goes without Skip's approval. The price was very reasonable and being able to make my first jump on a static line instead of tandem made it even more fun and exciting. I feel like I learned a lot and I'm officially in love with the sport. All in all, the best first time experience I could possibly have hoped for. I'll be back for sure!!
