  1. im really not sure those grippers will be big enough for some. do they sell them with models 14" and above? gravity brings me down.........
  2. those arent wingsuits....... the first one is an ORIGINAL set of MC Hammer pants........... the second one is the dress that alice wore in the broadway musical version of alice in wonderland. http://allysoninwonderland.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/6a0120a7c5f0a1970b0133f17fda59970b-800wi.jpg gravity brings me down.........
  3. my curv is hands down the best rig ive ever flown. ive had wings javelin and a talon. comfort level is absolutely amazing, and visually its quite a stunning rig. im keeping mine for my entire skydiving career............no issues with the reserve flap for me. i got a military discount on mine, and it is simply a SEXY ass rig gravity brings me down.........
  4. well id say this thread definitely helped me out in alot of ways. here i am talking about jump numbers, and worrying about bigger suits, etc etc, i need to slow the FUCK down with that train of thought.......... thanks for everyones inputs, ive got alot of work to do with my P3 for a while and ill worry about WS BASE and biggers suits later. first things first, ive got to spend every last penny from now on instead of saving for separating from the military at the end of the year, on WS skydiving!!!!!!!! if i become a bum, at least ill have a SICK array of awesome gear and i can always live out of my car! thanks jarno and everyone else for the .02 gravity brings me down.........
  5. point taken, thanks gravity brings me down.........
  6. ok heres one, i tried to see if anyone had asked but search didnt help, nor did a google search... whats the best way to get myself unstable and preferably tumbling in my P3? i want to start getting myself into highly unstable situations so that i can practice trying to regain stability without closing my leg wings, as in bigger suits you wont have that option. what ive heard is that going headdown and getting into a superfast dive to get out of your tumbling is the best way. correct? any advice? i was thinking maybe i could just forcefully raise one leg and lower the other in hopes of getting into a spin/tumble gravity brings me down.........
  7. my moms rates are steep, but your mouth is cheap buddy! and i refuse to follow the white rabbit!!! not gonna see you until the first weekend in april but lets put on the tracksuits and get wild. i got my sumo and cant wait to fly it gravity brings me down.........
  8. ive got about 50 on my P3 right now and loving it, would you say that after i hit the 100 or more mark on my P3 that i would be able to try out something like an R or S-bird? all the flying i do is fast and steep, and im not interested in the flock skydiving thing, im trying to learn speed and distance for the BASe environment. gravity brings me down.........
  9. trade for a NICE P3 with only about 40 flights? =) gravity brings me down.........
  10. The Katana and Crossfire both dive considerably more than any speedwing will. Most speedwings have a very flat trim and little reinforcement other than in the nose to save weight. Most also have multiple cells, and tiny lines with or without sheathing. I inherited a Gin Bobcat 16.5 last year and am still getting used to it, but I think it's one of the easiest speedwings to learn on. The design and riser system share common points with mini paragliding wings and speedwings, so it functions in a number of different scenarios. In higher winds it's easy to ridge soar when the big paragliders can't, and in lower winds it's great for proximity flying on shallow runs while retaining better glide than smaller more aggressive designs so I can chase my friends on smaller wings from slightly above and watch the mayhem. Skydiving canopies are great, and I'm trying to learn all I can jumping but speedflying is a whole new set of possibilities with some amazing equipment that really puts into perspective how much we sacrifice in performance for openings. agreed, but you would be AMAZED at the glide range of the mirage. with trimmers on its nice and flat and even loading mine the way i do, i get pretty sickening glide ratio. take the trimmers off, and its a ground hungry beast that flies fuckin FAST. i dont really have a base for comparison because all i have flown have been swing spitfires and mirages, but the range on the mirage again is unbeatable........ to the OP, like stated above, soboba has lots of wings for demo, get the best feel and go from there. have fun, be safe, and DONT hold your toggles down for an extended period of time or ever touch your risers. harness input is all you need for slow or sharp turns, toggles should be saved for gaining lift if ever needed. fly safe! gravity brings me down.........

    SUMO

has anyone gotten theirs yet? im dying to know how it compares to tube3 and PTS. mine is scheduled to be complete next week with roughly a week of lead time for shipping so i can post some info and vids towards the end of the month. anyone? gravity brings me down.........
  12. only issue i had was missing two snap buttons on my P3, which i fixed myself by going to home depot to buy a snap fastener kit. easy money. they are pretty overwhelmed with how popular wingsuiting is getting, and im sure theyre doing their best gravity brings me down.........
  13. could you elaborate spot? im not sure at what youre getting at. can an aura not be flown super fast and super steep and agile like say a vampire? gravity brings me down.........
  14. my 11.5 square meter mirage is approximately 120 square feet. smallest canopy ive ever flown. just do a google search for conversion. keep in mind that speedwings, even when compared to a skydiving canopy the same size, are different. a speedwing is a high performance wing that doesnt have to be toned down because of high speed deployments like a sky canopy does. they are solid, but can be prone to collapses in a half second. definitely a different beast but a beautiful one at that. gravity brings me down.........
  15. DAMN, 5' and 100 lbs....is she cute? gravity brings me down.........
  16. i actually got rid of my safire2 129 after about 10 severe line twists and finally a cutaway, all WS deployments. i was loading my safire at 1.65 i now have a pilot 132, and i know thats its virtually the same size, but a safire2 is significantly more elliptical than the pilot. ive had nothing but BUTTERY ass, slow openings with my pilot and zero problems, and it still performs similar....... its just a matter of how good your deployments are, but sometimes shit just happens with wingsuits. gravity brings me down.........
  17. Granted I don't have anything like as many jumps on the Colugo as on my old Vampire but I still think the V-series leg pouch is the quickest way to get rid of a PC. Yes, the Colugo is easy and reliable to reach, but you have to reach further and you have to reach in a certain way. Grab-and-gone from a leg pouch can happen in a eye-blink. For wing suiting I really like a longer container so that you don't need that "up" movement. exactly why i sold my perigee pro and bought a helium, its long and slender as opposed to short and fat gravity brings me down.........
  18. you are NEVERtoo new to take a canopy course. it helps a TON, less computers, more canopy courses. though i appreciate your effort gravity brings me down.........
  19. just do it at elsinore, i grew up about 10 minutes from moorpark in thousand oaks, and elsinore is a pretty easy drive from moorpark. elsinore is a great, extremely friendly dropzone.......... gravity brings me down.........
  20. none yet besides a few barell rolls uncontrollably for a few seconds. im not even considering a new wingsuit right now im just wondering how many people make that jump right from a P3 to a big suit. ive only got about 40 on my P3, so im gonna keep buying blocks of 50 tickets and rock it. maybe after 200 jumps on my P3 ill get into the vampire series for base gravity brings me down.........
  21. how bout P3 to colugo? foolish? jbag i know you fly an aura so im wondering your WS progression is it dumb to go from a P3 to a colugo, if you can fly the SHIT out of your P3? gravity brings me down.........
  22. oh my gosh, that makes so much sense! thank you! gravity brings me down.........
  23. rigged up a brand new collapsible pilot chute by myself, the complete wrong way and i wondered why it was having problems cocking properly, but jumped it anyway. after deployment of my PC, i waited about 5 seconds, grabbed my reserve handle, when it finally popped my main pin and deployed my main. i then learned how to PROPERLY hook up a collapsible pilot chute. been skydiving blackout drunk before. not cool, esepcially when you forget your chest strap while donning your tracking suit. never mixing booze and skydiving again, its pathetic, and a danger to yourself and everyone around you. gravity brings me down.........
  24. beat me to it leon =) not sure if you can fit a 190 into the VC4, but again call and ask them. as i stated, their containers are extremely unforgiving with up/downsizing and are built very specifically for certain sizes. youll see why when you close your curve, it fits together like a smooth white glove, kind of like the one they found during the OJ simpson investigation. maybe youll have to downsize to a 170 ? just kidding. (or am i) RI will know best gravity brings me down.........
  25. i just finally got my new canopy, im so happy!!! its a PD scepter 135! gravity brings me down.........
