  1. how much are jump tickets at byron? gravity brings me down.........
  2. funny, if im not mistaken it was that same attitude back in the 80's that played a part in getting BASE jumping in NPS on the permanently banned list........... i dont know why people can be such disrespectful pricks gravity brings me down.........
  3. not that im a sky or freefly god by any means, but i learned to sitfly before i ever learned to backfly. i learned how to backfly proficiently through sitflying, because you end up rolling all over the place. luckily, i have never corked to my belly on any single occasion. i went out on a few attempted sitfly jumps with a buddy who steered clear of me until i finally was able to sit, and it just got better from there. not to stray off topic, but i got proficient at sitflying without sliding around very quickly, but HD? thats fucking some difficult stuff right there. gravity brings me down.........
  4. im pretty sure i bought this canopy but since the ad is gone im unsure. i bought a 170 stilletto...... i have about 110 jumps on a spectre 150 loaded at 1,4, and i know a spectre isnt fully elliptical but i enjoyed the shit out of it. at my weight im gonna be loading the stilletto at 1.3 but i think im gonna be fine.............i have 170 skydives and 60 BASE jumps as well as 6 months worth of speedflights ........ i hope i didnt make a bad purchase but i consistently stood up my spectre when i was jumping in hawaii and was getting pretty spot on with landing close to where i wanted....... honest thoughts? gravity brings me down.........
  5. so on the subject, the riggers that are participating in this discussion......... how do you guys feel about inexperienced skydivers asking you a bunch of gear questions and being asked to watch you hook up slinks, and probing you with questions about gear setup........?? are you generally happy to help explain stuff to people? after this whole discussion i am definitely gonna take all the components to a rigger here, (i just pieced together a rig with all seperate components) and have him work the magic, but i would like to learn to hook up slinks and i have quite a few questions about how my reserve is packed! i just dont want to be annoying....... gravity brings me down.........
  6. my nephew is turning 15 on april 1st, and though ive mentioned it he has always been scared of the idea until recently. he actually wants to jump now, so when he turns 16 im gonna take him and his mom for their first tandem jumps.......cant wait. have fun man enjoy it gravity brings me down.........

  8. do you have rosy red lips? sometimes you just gotta roll with the unwritten book of the open road............... gravity brings me down.........
  9. how much does it normally cost (ballpark average) to get a canopy relined? say a stilletto 170 for example......................... gravity brings me down.........
  10. i did about 120 jumps at pacific skydiving and i would NEVER get that close to those trees, especially when doing any type of maneuvering (brake turns, etc)......... this isnt the first time theres been a canopy collapse/accident that close to the treeline i dont know what happened exactly besides speculation, but it was clear that the right front portion of the canopy collapsed first. scary shit gravity brings me down.........
  11. i just b ought it but havent played it yet , im more focused on beating red dead redemption gravity brings me down.........
  12. thanks, will do! gravity brings me down.........
  13. are completely impossible to find. i need a pair, NOT with the D-ring but with the actual O-ring to avoid a mini ring snag on a cutaway system for my speedwing............ does anyone have any clue where one might find a pair of RW6's, even if it is through military means? or does anyone happen to have an old pair somewhere? i need the RW6's with removable bar cheers gravity brings me down.........
  14. thanks for the input everyone. ill be calling rigging innovations after the holidays to see exactly what i need to purchase as far as different reserves =) gravity brings me down.........
  15. i have purchased a used talon 2, and it is built to house a 176 reserve. will a 170 suffice as a reserve, or does 6 less square feet make a huge difference? im not gonna purchase a reserve until im sure of this question......... thanks and BS chris gravity brings me down.........
  16. i wish that were true, i have purchased 2 used BASE rigs and a brand new BASE container without so much as a question as to how much experience i had..............just sayin....... gravity brings me down.........
  17. wow, thanks everyone for all the information. i learn somethin every damned day. now that its been put in perspective, i bought the entire rig for 1k, so im not gonna bitch, its got me back in the air again until i get a real skydive rig. i can deal with the right turn and the shit flare. blue skies gravity brings me down.........
  18. howdy. i have a raven 4 as my main. i keep noticing that when i open, and am flying fully inflated, my canopy slowly turns to the right side. this is when both toggles are still stowed. i plan to measure both break lines to ensure that the toggles are equally as far down both lines, but........ any other ideas what would cause this? could the lines on the entire right side be totally out of trim? can a rigger completely reline an older raven? thanks in advance chris gravity brings me down.........
  19. i was going to start a new thread, but since this thread is discussing cutaway cable length, i have a question for the riggers here. upon inspecting my new (93') used skyrig, everything is good with the exception of the length of the cutaway cable on the reserve handle side of my rig. i talked to my rigger and we both felt that it was jumpable, but needed to be adressed as soon as i could. under canopy, the left cutaway cable pops out of the pocket, and is literally only sticking out past the white cloth loop about 2 inches. i have ordered a new cutaway handle/cable system, and i have a question about what to do after i cut the cable to the right length. after i cut the cable to the right length, how do you treat the bitter end of the cable. do you take a brillow pad and smooth around it after you cut it? do you leave it alone? i do not want any jagged edges of the wire or the yellow material anywhere that could potentially snag during a cutaway........ any ideas on the bitter end of the cutaway cable? thanks in advance chris w gravity brings me down.........
