  1. i wouldnt barely eat ANYTHING as a kid. it wasnt until i went to culinary school at age 23 that i started opening my pallette up. the only reason ive eaten some weird shit (pig eyeball/brain, fish eyes, bird-salivary-gland extract) is because ill try just about everything ONCE.

i still have some funky eating habits though, and things like store bought mac' salad, canned vegetables/fruits, canned tuna, and giant tomato chunks will bring me to damn near puking.

i make sushi at home though for myself and friends once a month or so. its absolutely to die for

  2. i left my logbook at the end of april, sitting on that long, brown rectangular bench thingy by where everyone packs in the main hangar, just right when you walk in straight ahead and to the right...........its got a grey cover, my names chris w.

i have been gone for a month back east, and im gonna be gone another week and a half before i can come back up. i called bill and he hasnt seen anything.............

if anybody has seen/heard, could you please shoot me a PM and hang on to it or see that someone does? im not really tripping too hard, my jumps are in the computer and i can always start a new logbook...........

    thanks in advance
    cheers

  3. im planning on selling it and probably getting a phantom 3............

and yes, my first flight on the skyflyer kicked the shit out of me, i was sideswiping and was all over the place like a maniac right into severe line twists (Raven IV as a main so it was manageable).............scared the shit out of me and i went home for the day.

the next 9 jumps on it were good. i found that when i was feeling a bit out of control i curled my knees then went back into full flight and it was fine. but still, i dont like the cable routing system and would rather get a phoenix fly

and yes, my jump numbers are correct, i know as far as lodi goes they want me to get up to 200 jumps and take a class with one of the experienced birds up there, which im definitely gonna do. i had previously been mentored by my buddy who was a birdman instructor and i got about 5 flights on a birdman classic before the skyflyer

  4. ok i have tried the search function for the last 10 minutes to no avail on my particular question............

i have a shock cord PC on my rig.

i have a skyflyer 1 wingsuit (old school i know)

could there potentially be any type of problem with towing my PC during a wingsuit deployment? i mean i know that the skyflyer is no apache, and probably doesnt get towards the very low end of airspeeds as far as its flight characteristics go, but this is something ive definitely been thinking about.

my pilot chute is ZP, and my bridle is standard length
    cheers

  5. first thing i noticed was that her left shoulder strap was hanging halfway off her shoulder. im no TI, so i dont know if this is common practice when gearing up for exit......

2:05 she cleary says the word NO (but im no lip reader)

2:24 she starts screaming for her life.....

    this was painful to watch

  6. its unbelievable how slow those apaches can get, he was flying but then a few moments before impact , or landing, i should say, you can see his AOA get steep and the wingsuit stalls out, it looked like he was only going about the speed of a car on a highway............

i was unbelievably impressed. whats to stop someone from landing on one of those giant, inflatable bouncy things that they put under suicide jumpers? (on a much larger scale of course)

  7. alright well im SURE that if you posted this on the beginners forum on BJ.com, you have been violently attacked (and for good reason) so now you are asking here................

i wont be a hipocrate, because after my first BASE trip i sold my skyrig and bought BASE gear, but i wish i hadnt. i would have rather sold my brand new skyrig, and gotten a used, old main container and a raven IV or similar 7 cell F-111 canopy, this way not only could you still skydive and gain the important experience, but youd then have a bigboy container that you could always put a BASE canopy into at any point and not be facing the situation you face now..........

id sell the BASE rig (or dont purchase it if you havent yet) and get the aboved mentioned skydive container.

you can ALWAYS find smoking deals on a used mojo or ace BASE canopy and a used 2-pin container for pretty cheap thats more than airworthy..........a rig like that will be quite suitable until you start getting comfortable in the BASE environment

  8. not sure, but well see. mines a 150 as well loaded at 1.46.................

i am just gonna talk to my rigger about the pocket slider, how could it really hurt..........?

  9. why is it that sabre1's have been known to crack the shit out of you? what are the specific characteristics of this canopy that can cause painful, if not injurous openings?

ive got one now that i bought for wingsuiting. now besides the ovbious, flaking and folding properly, and making SURE that the slider is quartered and all the way at the top of the lines and packed deep inside the packjob, do you recommend rolling the nose?

and if you do roll the nose in what manner? (outer 4 cells on each side of the center cell, then bury the center cell)>>>??

my girl got her new infinity and loves it....

im sorry i cant quite see the mudflaps, would you mind removing that black bar please??!!

the mudflaps are really a make or break deal on my possible infinity purchase, so its necessary!

    =)

  11. thank you guys, thats what i thought......

ill order a d-bag and PC from RI............

do they have different sized d-bags for different sized canopies, or do the stock d-bags fit a pretty decent range of sizes of canopy?

  12. disclaimer: yes, of course i will clear everything with my rigger before jumping any new gear or configuration.........
just curious how this works though

lets say you buy a used canopy that comes with only the canopy and links....... assuming that you purchase the correct size pilot chute and d-bag for the size of canopy that you bought, will any generic collapsible pilot chute and d-bag combo work, or do you need to order one specifically from the makers of your container?

im getting a used sabre1 as my wingsuit canopy, and it only comes with risers and links.......

    thank you
    chris

  13. i dont know man, i have jumped regularly at 4 dropzones now, and particulary one of them was quite hard to break into as it was in the middle of the pacific ocean and you really had to earn peoples trust.

i have never had anyone come running at me with open arms, i had to hang around, talk to people even when it seemed i was annoying them, invite myself to after parties at the dropzone (armed with plenty of beer), and to be honest i have had a fuckin BLAST skydiving everywhere i have. some people are a little weird, but most skydivers are some of the coolest people ive ever met.

try jumping at another dropzone, and if maybe you feel like some people are being rude or leaving you out, go out of your way to try to break in with them. its all about attitude and perception. good luck man

It looks like she is flying in 1/2 or more brakes shortly before landing. She then lets up just before flaring. Essentially she caused the canopy to surge right before trying to get it to plane out.

The lesson is let the canopy fly on final.

im inexperienced myself but that was the biggest thing i saw. she was flying her damned reserve in almost deep brakes and sinking in. luckily i have jumped ravens more than a few times, so i have felt the difference between a decent main and a sluggish, slow-flaring 7 cell................

the poor thing pounded in when she let up on brakes and had ZILCH for flare left........

Heard on the radio today that Zimmerman had evidence of facial trauma. No details. Maybe the kid attacked him.

i remember the same scene in fight club, when edward norton gets "attacked" by his boss.................

  16. TI's...........

how many times have you been puked on by a woozy, motion sick tandem student? does it normally spill on you or does it get diflected off the side by the relative wind?

i know this may sound so stupid, but as a kid i got scarred by being thrown up on by my friend and i have a complete puke phobia now..............

not sure if i could ever become a tandem instructor because of this fear
