  1. Two quick issues: RobertMBlevins, 1st: The FBI doesn’t respond to ALL others as they do to you and your HC buddies. Some researchers can talk to officials for hours on end. Have you considered that it may be something you say, something you do, or someone you associate with? 2nd: The Bremerton Sun article you posted has several GLARING ERRORS in it. The hijack occurred on 11/24 NOT 11/23. The hijacker gave his name as Dan Cooper; he DIDN’T sign a passenger list or anything else, certainly not as DB Cooper. He ordered the pilot to fly to Mexico NOT Reno (that was NWA’s idea). So this newspaper thinks a photo outside of a wig-shop means the HJ wore a toupee, well it’s a damn good thing the photo wasn’t outside a stable surely it would mean he was a horse! I hope I have made you see the fallacy of your thinking… OR… you could just continue finding the data points along the curve you plotted over a year ago. Sluggo shakes head from side-to-side and sighs; "Sad... sooooo sad" Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  2. Just some rambling thoughts from Sluggo’s head: I spent Thanksgiving Day with my dysfunctional family of origin, and now I return to my dysfunctional virtual family. I have absolutely no idea why quade banned georger (for one month), but, then again, I have no need to understand it. sangiro needs to understand it, quade needs to understand it, and georger needs to understand it. sangiro owns this site, quade acts as his agent, georger is a poster that evidently did a bad, bad thing. All of them need to understand it. Notice that sluggo and many other frequent posters are not included in the “needs to understand” list! None of us see the PMs between posters and/or to quade. None of us see unedited versions of edited posts. I do not have nearly as much time to spend in my Norjak pursuits as I did when I was a contractor. I always try to spend a little time on this forum each week to keep up with what’s happening in the “definitive” DB Cooper online community. The long-time and/or frequent posters here have a better understanding of Norjak than any other online forum… BUT… damn don’t we waste a lot of energy trashing each other? On each visit, it seems the signal/noise ratio drops. 67%4IN7^3%&FACT)$*&^@#IT $%)&#@IS*&$$%#@&&SO(*&^&^%$)LOW&^%^*NOW(*&%^ %$#THAT(@!(*&^%$)(IT*&^%(&^HARDLY*&^%$^&#$SEEMS(*&^%#)(*&%^$WORTH*&^%$#(*&IT! I have known skyjack71 for several years, I’ve been invited into her home, and I believe I know what is (or at least was) in her heart. I personally think Duane Weber (aka John C. Collins) was a VERY interesting person (maybe because I have little or no history of exposure to criminals) and, in my mind, he is still one of the more likely suspects as far as “having involvement” in Norjak. I don’t think Jo “intends” to hurt people, but she remains so self-absorbed that she harms by benign ignorance. Saying she hurt Ckret’s career is a bit much, but she did cause him some grief… and why… because he wasn’t playing the role of her “personal FBI Agent”. In fact, her anger was really due to the fact that the FBI wasn’t playing the role of her “personal investigative agency”. Jo should have quit posting here in 2008 and spent her energy in Washington two years earlier. If you measure the success of this thread by the total number of posts and/or the rate of posts (#/day), then the engine driving this thread to success is Jo Weber. Of course that makes the now banned snowmman, georger, and the not (yet) banned RobertMBlevins the other driving forces. Posts from others just can’t seem to generate the rage required to precipitate endless posts about minute and trivial drivel and points of fact. You know… like this post.
  3. All, I while trying to figure out what Jo has been carrying-on about I finally came to a startling conclusion: Everyone who has both smokejumper and CIA experience is named "Peterson"! Now... isn't that odd? Peterson, Richard A. "Paperlegs" (McCall 1947) posted: January 01, 2002 The long-time (47-62) McCall jumper and CIA employee was felled by a heart attack and died peacefully at his home in Weiser, ID on Oct. 19, 1999. Richard was born March 3, 1927, at Gannett, Idaho, the son of Martin and Madge Leazenby Peterson. He attended elementary school in Gannett and began high school at Hailey. He left during his senior year in 1945 to join the U.S. Army and trained as a paratrooper at Fort Benning, Ga., with the 82nd Airborne. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and returned to graduate from Salmon High School in 1947. Paperlegs became a smokejumper with the U.S. Forest Service the summer of 1947. From then until 1954 he spent summers as a smokejumper and winters in mining. He went full-time with the Forest Service in 1955 and made over 200 parachute jumps throughout the western United States. He was a member of the National Smokejumper Association, and is fondly recalled as "Paperlegs." From 1962-1973 he worked as a parachute dispatch officer for Intermountain Aviation involved with special operations in Tibet, Laos, Vietnam, Cuba, India and Peru. He met and married Ridgely Chapline in 1964. The couple lived in Tucson, Ariz. They moved to Lander, Wyo., in 1973, where he worked as a miner. In 1982 they returned to Salmon, and resided there until moving to Weiser in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Ridgely. 4. Farflung, I am now “Seriously” “Worried About You”. 377 says he’s “He's Concerned About You" too! You’re getting “More Like Me, Less Like You”. This music kick you’re on… well, you need to “Drop It Like It's Hot”! “As Time Goes By”, “It Seems Like You're Ready”, to “Fall Again” “Into a Dream”. “I Can Help”, “I've Been There Before”. “If You Leave” now, you can make “Amarillo By Morning” and get you “What You Need”. "There's a Place for Us" at the “Crazy House” in Amarillo, and “I'll Pay For It”. “I'll Be Waiting” … “I Want To Hear What You Have Got To Say”. “Sluggo” PS: I'll bet that I have more MP3s than you! 5. My real name is Harold McKraken. I’m a drag-line operator from Jasper, AL. I have a PhD in Animal Husbandry with a minor in Music Composition. I spent 4 years in prison for breaking a man’s back (he was “forcing himself” on a woman who didn’t know him). The court (jury) just didn’t see it my way so I got 8 to 10. In 1988, I was taken aboard a UFO and examined (in a very personal way). In 1996, I was rear-ended in a fender-bender accident. This sent me into a post traumatic episode which caused be to be incarcerated in a Behavioral Health Clinic. The reason I was so traumatized was that it was a Ford Probe. No one wants to be rear-ended by one of those. Oh yeah… I almost forgot… In High-School I dated Karen Silkwood (that was before she was radioactive). Do you feel better now Jo/Robert B. 7. Jo, July 29th article says "..Weber also may be charged with impersonating a peace officer and violating parole." Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  8. Arrested previously (in 1949)? Escaped prison? A number of varied identification papers? $113.35 in cash? That's almost enough to buy the GE Automatic Defrost Refrigerator on page for $189.70. Whooooaaa Duane/John has been a verwy, verwy, baad boy. Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  9. Man... I missed that one too! I wonder when it was added to the archive. smokin99, Maybe next week I'll blow my horn REAL LOUD when I come by your town. Jo, What say you (about smokin99's newspapper article about Duane from 1957)? You wanted to know about that era of his life. California, Ohio, Missouri, and Florida! Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum

  12. Every article or book that I have ever seen stating that DB used the word "Interphone" was so full of other obviousll inaccurate statements, I cannot give credence to it. I wish it was "provable" that he did say; "Interphone," then the military connection would be solid. If I say; "intercom" and you are military, when you make a witness statement you might say; "interphone" not realizing you have changed the words. You know you have conveyed the meaning, so it might not be all that important. But 40 years later, geeks (like us) will pick it apart six ways to Sunday. The same is true about; "Flaps to 15-degrees". Did he say; "flaps down" , and Rataczak set the flaps to 15-degrees. Then stated that as a witness? I just don't know! Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  13. Question: Did Thomas K. Worcester write NORJAK: The Investigation of D. B. Cooper or did Ralph P. Himmelsbach? If your answer is Worcester... good for you. If your answer Himmelsbach... then you win two (bonus) questions. Bonus Questions: #1 What other books, novellas, short-stories, and magazine articles has Worcester written? #2 What other books, novellas, short-stories, and magazine articles has Himmelsbach written? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Some things to ponder: Thomas K. Worcester: Thomas K. Worcester received his B.A. in journalism and his M.A. in Educational Administration from the University of Colorado. He served as a journalism instructor and Director of Public Relations at Pueblo College (Pueblo, Colo.), from 1954 to 1957. From 1957-59, he was Director of Public Information at The Colorado College. And from 1959 to 1970, he was the Public Information Officer, Alumni Editor and Director of Information Services at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Since 1970, Thomas K. Worcester has worked as a freelance writer and editor. He is the editor of Mel Hansen's Indian Heaven, Back Country (Touchstone Press, 1977), Don and Roberta Lowe's Thirty-Three Hiking Trails: Southern Washington Cascades (Touchstone Press, 1985), and two books by Oral Bullard, Konapee's Eden Historic and Scenic Handbook (Touchstone Press, 1985) and Lancaster's Road (1982). Thomas K. Worcester also wrote or co-wrote Washington D.C. (Graphic Arts Center), A Portrait of Oregon (OMSI Press), A Portrait of Colorado (OMSI Press), NORJAK: The Investigation of D.B. Cooper (NORJAK Project), Bunco Kelly and Other Yarns of Portland and NW Oregon (Touchstone Press, 1983) and The State of Jefferson and Other Yarns (1982). Worcester has written numerous articles for regional and national magazines. He wrote more than 640 radio scripts during an 8-year period for Pacific Power & Light's "Stories of Pacific Powerland" series. In addition to his membership in WWA, he is a member of The Authors Guild, The National Writers Club, and the Northwest Association of Book Publishers. Ralph P. Himmelsbach: Other than NORJAK: The Investigation of D. B. Cooper, Himmelsbach has written no other books, poems, magazine articles, short-stories, or essays. He has written some FBI Reports about counterfeiting activities, but those aren't public or for profit. And for all you conspiracy theorist out there; Ralph's father (Jesse R Himmelsbach) was born in Minnesota circa 1893, the home of NWA and Rataczak. {Oh my!} +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now... let me ask again... Who wrote NORJAK: The Investigation of D. B. Cooper? Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum

  16. I haven’t had time to read the recent post but I did want to get this out to you guys. My copy of “The D. B. Cooper Story – Vanishing Act by Kay Melchisedech Olson came today. It has “Library Binding” so it will last for a million years. I read it in about 10 minutes. The Content Advisors were: Larry Carr, DB Cooper Case Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Seattle, Washington and Philip Edney, Public Affairs Specialist, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington, D.C. [Sluggo Note: I wonder who in the FBI needs to make their affairs public? Shouldn’t you keep that stuff private?] The Reading Advisor was Alexa L. Sandmann, EdD, Professor of Literacy, College and Graduate School of Education, Health and Human Services, Kent State University. Now why would you need a “Reading Advisor,” unless the book was a “Children’s Book”???? Hmmmm. It is published by Compass Point Books… I wonder…..? From their website: Compass Point Books publishes award-winning nonfiction, grades 5-12. From history to science and biography to careers, these titles inform and inspire through sophisticated and engaging formats. Oh well… Now we know! Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  17. Robert B. Two quick questions: Are you aware that Wikipedia entries are tracked by IP? Do you know Bruce Christiansen? This is my travel weekend so I may not see your response until Monday night. Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  18. I've been thinking about the “jumping” discussion, and now I have a question. Is there some sort of simulator (no matter how crude) that would allow me to PROGRESSIVELY add stress to test my ability to withstand chute deployment and landing (not necessarily at the same time)? That way, I could see how much the mass of lower-legs inertia stresses the fake joint during deployment in slow steps. Ditto, for the shoulder stress, and mobility. I’m not sure I have the range of motion and strength to manage the basic mechanics. Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  19. No way Sluggo. If you were excluded I would be all over you to do AFF and rejoin. You are a pilot, you are a Cooper fanatic, what is holding you back from participating in the aero sport that has the highest ratio of thrill to dollar of anything short of controlled substances? Sugar, if you are reading this I have an idea for your husband's Christmas present. Sluggo, do you think this love fest for Quade is hard on Snow? I actually don't. He probably views us as weak and obsequeous though. 377 I never had considered jumping before spending so much time with you guys. Last year, I gave it some serious thought. I've already had my fill of adrenaline producing activities, however, I do enjoy new experiences. My big fear is getting (seriously) injured in the process of a NORMAL jump. I have an artificial knee, artificial thumb-joint, really f%$&ed-up shoulders (screws, wires, pins and plates) and a prostetic scrotum/penis assembly. (Just joking about the scrotum and penis).
  20. You know, I'm one of those whuffos previously mentioned. I have wondered (at times) why a skydiving website (forum) would have such an "open-door" policy. In fact, I sent an inquiry to establish if it was okay for a non-jumper to register here before I did so. If I were excluded (as opposed to banned) tomorrow, I would bear no hard feelings. Which brings me to Quade... I sometimes wonder why he does what he does (Serve as moderator for the bottom-feeders forum). He is either; tremendously loyal to the Powers That Be (TPTB, Sangrio I believe), loves skydiving so much that he will do whatever is necessary to support it, thinks that this thread keeps the other threads from being contaminated with 100 DB posts a day (sort of quarentine), or he is a sick-minded individual. At any rate, I have seen him display the patience of Job in situations where I would have gone super critical and melted down. Some even involving me. I think none of us can even imagine the # of PMs he gets a day. It's probably more like running a daycare than moderating a forum. So, hats off to Quade and hats off th TPTB. 22. Oh! Okay Mr. Smarty-pants. So you and that Farflung creature that follows you around everywhere you go like the details… huh? (Hey Bunghole377, is that your butt-ugly dog? No, it’s Farflung… he just followed me home one day, and I decided to keep him.) Okay genius, I have a news-flash for your combined small brains. The cretins at the FBI got it all wrong. Look at the file below (FBI’s Dan Cooper.jpg) and tell me if you think it would inspire a weak-minded (in you two’s case, like minded) Kenny Boy to hijack NWA 305. Got an answer, Jack-wagon? I guess not! Now look at the file (Obviously Correct Dan Cooper.jpg). What do you numbskulls see? See the rain? See the night? See the storm? See the plane with gear-down? Now… THAT would inspire an ambitious, shovel-faced boy like Kenny-C to “Do the deal”! And the third picture… that’s not Greece numbnuts, that’s Hiroshima after the bombing. It’s that cover that inspired Ken and his Barbie-doll girlfriend to try to cheer up the bomb victims by doing free-fall demo-jumps. Geeez. If I put both your brains in a Jay-bird, it would fly backwards and its head would rattle. NexusOfSluggovilty
  23. Jo, I stand corrected. I just recognized the name and linked it to the "Private Duty Nurse" or helper or whatever. As you said, the infrequently mentioned name with the correct spelling indicates she did her homework. She came "out-of-the-blue" for me, which hasn't been the case in the past. Oh well, it's a free country. Sluggo Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
  24. I read the 37-pages available in the preview and noticed a few things: She was the most accurate of any account of the actual hijacking to date. (My definition of “accurate” means she told the story the way I understand it (i.e. she agrees with me).
  25. Jo, About the pants… This article describes them as “tattered gray plaid pants in a tree.” [Read Article] In this article Himmelsbach implies; “… the pants, believed to have been worn by Cooper, found hanging from a tree limb a few years back” were false or phony. [NOTE: I’m not really sure what “false or phony” means.] [Read Article] That’s really all I can find. BTW: Was anyone aware of the new book “The D.B. Cooper Hijacking: Vanishing Act” By Kay Melchisedech Olson? It has a 2011 copyright date. [Preview Book] Web Page Blog NORJAK Forum
