  1. If you had a chance to enhale turbine exhaust for a longer period than normal you can get some irritation. Skyvans can be a culprit in this case otters not so much.
  2. Shaun, some jumpers don't even stow their lines after the locking stows on regular bags with good results. I've experimented with it myself and got fine deployments. So whether your lines are loose on the bottom of your container or laced in pocket in the Lazy bag it makes no difference. Remember as long as your locking stows are tight or in the case of the lazy bag ( and for lack of proper nomenclature ) your locking - straps or loops (?) are holding everything in the bag until line stretch, you should be just dandy. I want one myself. There are two schools of thought that I run into. Some guys say that rubber bands are just fine and are actually mil speced. They claim they can change them in no time. Hence no benefit to them. Plus the tabs on the lazy bag will soften in time and require replacement sooner than the standard bag will need a patch or restitch. Although I've never been late to a load because of a stow replacement. I see advantages in the system and it warrants further investigation.
  3. Cobalt 120 or 135. They open very nice. If I have a second camera on the helmet ( only20% of the time) though by the end of the day it does take its toll. The 120 just came back from getting an H-mod and I can't believe how slow it opens. This will be my new cam-canopy for the long term.
  4. Miko from the crash test dummies surfed a Perris based buddy a couple of years back. Both had video. Can't wait for the wingsuit boogie season for more playmates eh? Until then keep up with the Bikinis and we'll see you in two weeks. Did the tandem cuttaway for fear from a wingsuit collision? Not everyone likes gettin zoomed.
  5. The new Matter does not have this problem as there are straps and tabs that keep the main lift web out. Hell, I bet the old matter didn't even have that problem.
  6. The Gunner is cheekyer and for some people more comfy. The new Pimp is bad ass I love mine more than my long lost old style pimp ( secure those fastex buckles peeps). The gunner will have a small advantage in being able to hold an audible in each side and still be comfy, this gets tight for some people like myself. I like the audible inside. believe it or not they are easier to get to and better protected. I heard of a whisper of a rumour that there might be a few double sided new pimp prototypes floating about. If this is something you may like Email Bonehead. The more we beg the more they make.
  7. Guys what if the suspect program is write protected and keeps you from deleting it unless you go to that company's web page and get their program which keeps reinfecting your computer? Ezula is the program name.
  8. Out where I jump new bridles are cheaper than reserve repacks!
  9. Deuce you are out of control! Whats next porno pokie cam?............But I love ya man!
  10. I would if I had too. They conform to the shape of the container anyway. I've even rotated my D-bag 90 degrees up for birdman deployments. I would also be willing to use the berger bag in most rigs. Be carefull this may not work with every bag in every container. Get some rigger help.
  11. You are thinking too much, just go and have fun and be safe.
  12. I won't jump a reserve smaller than I have actually test flown and I doubt I will ever load a reserve above 1.4. I don't have these reservations on the main.
  13. I know several people and have myself face-planted hard vertical into the pond. No cracks, no brakes just a compression in most of the above cases. Seems taking at least two weeks off was the way to go. I was still sore during a single jump after the two weeks and took another two weeks before resuming.
  14. If this beach has got life guards I would let their organization know ahead so that they don't put the K-bosh on your post jump festivities. There is nothing like having to stand around getting "talked" to while somebody else searches for any possible violated regulation as they grumpy facing your guests and or ground crew.
  15. I've paid in the 65 to 75 dollar range for my handfull. I am planning to do more. Burner in Arizona comes highly recommended. I wish we had something like his service out here. Do a jump you will love the balloon. You won't get his level service from a company that would rather make their money from wuffo tourists at lower altitudes.
  16. Quote Anyways, my question is this. Are you really ready to exit an aircraft that is going down at 1000 feet? Quote Probably more than accepting a crash in an aircraft loaded with jet fuel while wearing a whole bunch of nylon.
  17. QuoteI've been doing a lot of thinking lately about the amount of good advice that is ignored in skydiving, mostly related to canopy flight but that's my passion so my thoughts naturally drift there. Quote Just like there are many bad sources of advice to push you forward aggressivley into something you are not ready for there are very conservative jumpers out there who are giving conservative ( or ultra conservative ) advice which may not work for the situation. Just because something worked for you at X-numbers does not mean it will work for everyone. And just because something still isn't working for someone with thousands of jumps doesn't mean that someone with a few hundred can't do it safely and accurately. Its really hard for some hardheaded low experience jumper to realise that to do what they want to do they need what they don't currently posses, experience. Its equally hard to have much time in this sport and many jumps and watch someone with a fraction of the jumps and experience see someone doing something that took us much longer to even try let alone get good or safe at without saying something about it.
  18. Where can we see it? Or do we first have to be blindfolded, then placed in the trunk of a car and driven to a discrete location and interviewed first?
  19. Well that explains the "chupacabra" a bunch of kids with artistic talents and neato computers file sharing across puerto rico and south america under a message board titled " wanna mess with ranchers, amigo".
  20. Bonehead uses quality two part polyurethanes to paint or clearcoat their helmets. Anybody that paints custom bikes or helmets for moto-cross should be able to do you up dandy. You may be able get more options on artwork if you seek this localy yourself.
  21. On final speed is your friend. If you feel you are having trouble with the last bit of the flight you may need to seek coaching on just your approach and flare. Coming down into the flare in half brakes robs your canopy of a lot of its performance. Using half brakes the slowly letting up at the last moment to flare completely again may cause your wing to surge forward when letting up and make things even worse and this is dangerous if you haven't mastered regular no-wind landings. If you fixate on the ground directly below you the sensation you are getting will be worse. You need to develope a scan that includes looking farther forward. More so in lighter winds. If after all this and If you still really want to slow things down you may need to upsize your canopy until you are comfortable.
  22. I did a handfull of belly jumps in the early eighties in a military club. For many reasons I stopped jumping when I got out of the service.I always thought I'd be back eventually. Fast forward 16 years and seeing what the freeflyers were doing really drew me back to the sport. Its were my heart is.
  23. Only on arakis, in so central they just bust a cap.
  24. A complete reline or an extra stitch on some line attachments?
