  1. Giselle, Even though I'm a huge noob here, I have one honest general advice for you - if you want to see things change, go do something about it, instead of screaming a lot at everyone. I'm not going to completely dismiss you, hell, most awesome inventions were invented accidentally by crazy people so you never know really.. It's good to be open minded and you talk a lot about that, so open your mind please! Listen (just listen for a second) to some of the most revered people here and think (THINK!) about what they say, because you're not going to go far if you're gonna dismiss every single person that disagrees with you or your ideas.. (yeh I know, sounds ironic coming from me) We all have our differences, but we also have one huge common thing - love for flight (whatever flight it may be), so just go out there and do your thing! You never know.. Honestly, best of luck to you, pursue your dream, but never completely push aside other people and their knowledge, it might help you one day.
  2. Speed gliding looks beautiful and thrilling. If I had the money and time I'd gladly pick up hang gliding, it really does look like pure flight.. Here, let me answer your question with your own words: "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  3. Glad you enjoyed, the first one is always the one that stucks in your mind the most. It's gonna be a lot more interesting further down.. Goodluck

  10. I did my first tandem when I was 17 (April, 2007) and a week later started AFF. Now I'm 21 and 146, which sucks ass. Money / seasonal jumping is the main reason for such low numbers. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  11. And that's where you're horribly wrong, you'll have no idea how it actually feels and if you're going to be scared or not until you try the real deal. Think we had a fatality in my country (not DK) because someone thought the same thing. You'll soon realize everything is way more complicated and scary than you think. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  12. Nah I'm not, just saying that in general americans have it easier, because you have EVERYTHING in one place..

  14. Flies for those who has shit loads of money to achieve that much in 1 year, lives in Cali or Florida and just basically has everything they will ever need in their hands reach.. Ain't the same for everybody.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  15. Aaaah, good ol' Shaan Kaya, brings back good memories
  16. I dunno, when I jumped the pilot just waited for the balloon air to cool off so it would stop gaining altitude and stay in one place (not descend) and then he would allow us to jump.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  17. Balloon jumps are awesome! I did only one, but it was fuckin intense.. So much better than the normal terminal exit from an aircraft.. Now I know how dead air exits feel and they are honestly the best shit ever. I exited on my back, fell for about 3-4 seconds, flipped on my belly, tracked a bit and pulled (jump was from 1500m, pulled at ~1000m). Landing in somekind of farming field in between some electricity wires, but there was plenty enough space, got picked up by the balloon crew with a car almost instantly no probs. Have fun, I know you will!

  20. There's always people willing to teach. And BPA ain't gonna find out nothing when you're thousands of miles away if you keep it to yourself... Rules schmools "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  21. I assume it's because the suit is specifically designed for aerobatics / artistic flying which this competition was all about.. As Jarno would say - "Dress for success." "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  22. Belly is lame "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  23. Yes, ripcord is sooooo 70's (the fossil age!). And the ear thing should pass, I had some painful times myself but it passes and gets better.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
  24. I started dreaming of skydiving (as in my sleep), falling through the sky with that gut feeling all the way.. After I had quite a few of those dreams I decided maybe I should try the real thing and looked up for a local DZ through the net.. Called them, booked a tandem, got hooked, started AFF a week later and the rest is history...
