  1. I got mine from Jim Cazer in Alabama. Brand new, great price, priority insured shipping. He basically starts making them while on the phone with you! (256) 268-9843 "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  2. It was actually the 2nd hard opening on this setup. The first one was from pulling in a track (30ish jumps) and it ended up ripping the canopy. The rightmost cell blew up on opening. Come to think of it, that opening could have very possibly started this tear or damaged the stitching enough that this one just finished the job. Otherwise, 99% of the openings on it are absolutely perfect! I couldnt ask for a slower opening. I have never talked to Tom but have heard nothing but good things about him, and all 3 riggers here brought his name up immediately after seeing what happened. I guess the worst part of the situation was the lack of control. I mean I practice emergency procedures religiously, and I believe I can handle a typical malfunction fine. But the harness and container system you just expect to not fail, and in many cases when it does there are few, if any, options. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" 3. I believe it is going to Tom Dolphin for repairs. I will support any decision he makes since he is the expert, but the rig is in excellent condition for its age........well........besides some minor stitches that might have a purpose "Are you coming to the party? 4. First off, I apologize for having no pics of it but my rigger took the rig to send off to get repaired. Yesterday morning I had an unusually hard opening. Not being the first time, it didn't suprise me too much and once I cleared my airspace I inspected the canopy and lines for any breaks or tears. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed my right 3 ring sitting a little higher than usual. Also, I could see my reserve toggles (still stowed) on the back of my shoulder. I figured that the reserve risers were just yanked out a little on opening. After getting down and back to the hangar, I was looking my rig over (a '92 Vetor 2) and saw that the rsl on the right riser was pretty tight. Lifting the reserve flap up you could see the pin almost out. It was about 1/4" still in. Damn close to a 2-out situation! I grabbed a rigger to check it out. Apparently the harness strap that connects the large ring of the 3-ring to the container is sewn to the rig in 2 spots, right behind the shoulder and down at the lateral behind the back. It had completely ripped out behind my shoulder which allowed the 3-ring to rise up like it did. After some debating we figured that if the bottom ripped off it would have been pretty nasty since the main would basically be a streamer, only connected on the left side, and the rsl would have fired the reserve into the mess. Has anyone seen or heard of this happening before? "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  5. Is Jimmy from France? I have been practicing to try in in freefall as well. I think I'm gonna attempt it at Couch Freaks this year. To be honest I'm kind of disappointed that it's been done before in solo freefall. I thought the only person was Dan Knight who did it during a tandem jump. Ah well, maybe I'll be the first from the U.S.! "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  6. I have been a "professional" installer for almost 3 years now. There's nothin like diagnosing car audio problems!....Nothing as frustrating atleast. Sounds to me like everyone else is right, its the internal amplifier. They all have a protect mode in which the amp will shut off if the unit gets to hot, a speaker grounds out, etc etc, anything that could damage the amp. Rarely will it stay in protect when the unit is turned off then on again, it takes a little bit for it to switch over and shut off again. Nowadays it will cost almost as much if not more to fix the radio than buy a new one. Just do some shopping around and find one that fits you. There are obvious brands to stay away from but you probably know those. Good luck! "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  7. I bought my Spectre 210 (1.1:1) used from the classifieds section in april. I absolutely love it! The openings have been extremely consistent: straight on-heading and soft as can be. The long snivel bothers some people at first but just remember it is designed to do it. Sure beats getting spanked though! At my experience level (74 jumps) and wing loading it is the perfect mix of agility and forgiveness. Highly recommended to everyone!

  9. I took an inflatable whale about the same size as that shark up sunday afternoon! We got some pretty good footage with 2 different guys running video. Damn thing was absolutely impossible to control! Eventually it stayed upside down and spun in one direction so I got off. I talked to an S&TA for awhile about it and decided to keep it on opening. Very tricky getting stable enough but it is possible if you wait a few seconds. Very fun! To clarify, I DID NOT deploy while riding it. I got off and held it in my left hand, fully extended to my side to keep it away from everything. "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Flying Hellfish #828 Dudist #52
  10. I know how that goes! I started static line at the end of september. Then bad weather/surgery/bad weather/annual plane maintenance/bad weather. Slow 20 jumps but its coming together now! I also have found that having fun leads to better jumps. I tend to do better on the jumps I yell "wooohooo" most of the time "Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!"
