  1. I have a narrow, like jairo mentioned and both my xsi and hc5 fit on the top very comfortable and have about 100 jumps on it and no risers snagging on it at all. I will put a lot of money on that my helmet setup is cheaper then yours and its the same jairo has. Just aluminum instead of carbon fiber plates. Just because the still is mounted vertical does not mean it will cost more.
  2. I have a narrow and I like it a lot! Been using a rebel xsi and a sony hc5 with it, but just got a cx100 and got to use it this weekend and I am loving it.Would def. recommend to a friend
  3. Shaffer* I had one like that, but on my katana, lol!
  4. Does anyone know if it is scott roberts slider or the knock off one?
  5. Well my opinion is we leave the rules as they were at the world meet and just change the score of second and fourth water gate as mentioned in here. This is called accuracy so I believe points need to be given for the accuracy of the pilot! In classic accuracy the pilots get points for distance from the target, not lose points. This is accuracy not water dragging! So, I say we just flip the score of the second and fourth water gate and not take away the importance of the accuracy.
  6. [Like this? (with 100 points on the water) First: 41 Second: 14 Third: 19 Forth: 26 Waaaay better! ] I completely agree! Not directed just at you, but you said you were one who pushed for a change in the zone acc in this direction, so part of it is directed at you. You pushed for a change and this is what came of it...
  7. I would just like to say thank you for making the rules so ridiculous, I will have no personal drive to wanna compete. So, you wanted to make the last water gate more important, why not just make that gate more important and not change up the whole zones? Now there will be even more difference in the scores for zone acc.! Looks like it will be even more important now......Once again I would like to say these new rules are ridiculous!!!
  8. "c) a saftey thing as only your first point of contact counts and you don´t have to stop immediatly at any cost... " Doesnt that defeat the whole point of accuracy if you can just tap a toe in the "highscore" zone and blow through the course? I like the idea Ian has as far as switching the value of gate 2 and gate 4 on the water. What makes accuracy difficult to me is being able to shut down my canopy in zone 5. Being able to blow through the course and just tap the highscore zone defeats the whole idea of accuracy to me......I think this is a bad call for the evolution of canopy piloting competitions.
  9. I have been using scott roberts design and have put several hundred jumps on it with a velo and katana and have even packed it wrong several times testing it out and have had nothing but nice openings with it and pledge by his design. You should contact him if you are interested in getting one or learning more about them and mention the name Shane to him!
  10. I am not looking for anyone to tell me what I should jump, just trying to see how people compare the two canopies. I have never jumped a jvx but have over 200 on velos. I dont like how twitchy the velo is for freestyle, but since there isnt a pst freestyle doesnt matter
  11. Just wanted to see how people compare the velo's flight characteristics to the jvx's. I have heard the jvx seems to be faster but drops out in slow flight because of not having stabalizers and also has a longer recovery arch. Just looking for peoples thoughts since you cant demo a jvx. Thanx
  12. Actually his 10,000th and his birthday is today and yes we are trying to make a form load for his 10,000 jump. HAPPY BIRTHDAY dad!
  13. I think there should be some type of give to the weight rule. I think it should be fair across the board as far as getting wet goes and it should be noted, but as far as how much allowance should be given, I have no clue where to start. Also, I think the weight rule is fine for the people allowed to wear weights, as long as the above is added, but as for the heavier people, I think there should be some allowance so people arent fighting dehydration and we are worrying about more serious consequences. Just my 2 cents from a person allowed to wear weights..... blue skies, julio
  14. I traveled with both of mine in a backpack to colorado from orlando for cp nationals and going there was no problem. On the way back in colorado it took some extra time because the person i was with had an AAD, I dont have an AAD in either of mine. What surprised me is they didnt say anything about either hook knife I had.
  15. I am excited to find out who all made it, just bummed it wont be till next year. Sorry about the bad news mike.
  16. I traveled delta to the canopy piloting nationals in colorado and had by belt in my car on luggage. They questioned me about it when it went threw the xray machine, but after they swabbed it they said i was fine....
  17. i know you are not and I have also send a couple of them messages yesterday
  18. i have a mirage and a micron, but also have used javelins. I am talking about pd canopies and I dont understand why pd would put it on if you would not like it or would wanna do away with it. Why would they put a new one on if you took it off? I am just wondering the questions and would like to hear from pd staff about why that is.
  19. I have been looking and I cant find a reason for the metal ring on the new dbags. Mirage, upt, and javelin all have the kill line/ bridle go threw the dbag metal grommet, so the metal ring does nothing. Also, I have never seen anyone connect there dbag/ kill line to the metal ring.
  20. Funny that this is brought up this week. I was just talking about this last weekend because I wanna remove the metal rings on my pd canopies, but was advised by a person who works a pd that they would just put one back on and give me crap whenever it goes in for a reline. I dont mind the attachment point, it is just the metal ring I dont want considering it does nothing on my canopy except create a snag point for an rds line. Still waiting back to hear back from pd as to if they will sell them without that
  21. I agree as many of my jumps are hopnpops and hp landings, but on the other hand i talk to the other people doing hop n pops and try and work to get what will be the best exit order. There will be jumps tho where you wont be able to do a hp landing because of miscommunication or some of events happening.....I just really replied to get out some facts......if you are respectful to others they will be respectful back, thats all
