  1. THE BIG WAY CAMP is a no fault training camp for big way enthusiasts to improve and refine your skills to participate in the larger big way events. The event will challenge you in all slots, diving, dive floater, and base experience. The camp will include information on exits, approach strategies, stadium, radial discipline, docking technique, fall rate control, break off and tracking, and canopy pattern discipline for larger groups. Bring various jumpsuits and weight as the line up will be rotated every day.

The plan is to do 14 jumps over three days. The camp will begin with 20 way formations and build up to 40 way’s. The camp format allows for quicker builds and the possibility of repetition for quicker skill acquisition. Success on these dives will place you on invitation lists for larger formations, 60+.

The big way camps are an opportunity to get ranked on the World Team database for future invitations to World Team Sequential and Big Way record events.

You must have been in 20 way formations to qualify.

    “Larger is not necessarily better!”

The Dives: 14 jumps are scheduled

    Date / DZ: October 21 – 23, 2011 at Skydive DeLand, Florida

Organizers: Rob Laidlaw and Robert Chromy

  3. Skydive University would like to introduce our new coach Katie Woods.

Katie was most recently part of the British 4way skydiving team that represented the UK at the 2010 World Meet in Russia. Here they set a new British record of 47 points in time, and finished with a 22 average.

In 2005 Katie started working as an instructor at the Bodyflight Wind tunnel. She worked there for 2 years. During this time she also worked as a tunnel coach, AFF instructor, formation skydiving, and 4way coach, and completed a degree in sports and exercise science.

Kaite is now based in DeLand with Skydive University and is available for 4 way coaching, basic body flight and basic freefly coaching, both in air and in the tunnel. She is also looking at setting up some player coach teams for 2011.
