  1. I guess there is other stuff in Kansas but how would I know that when I'm spending all my weekend time in Martin's hanger. When the weather is bad, those liquor stores come in handy. 2. Being a KS jumper, I know there is no DZ in Topeka and the 3 DZs here (Wamego, Osage City, & Rose Hill) don't roll with 1-800-eat shit. I looked up those numbers and they return to a Balloon Adventure operation out of Louisburg, KS. Guess who I won't be calling for a balloon jump. It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. 3. It's true. The bill that did away with it was called the BUBBA Bill, as in Bubba can't beer no more on the way home from work. It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough. That's fucked up. Watermelons do not grow on trees! ~Skymama

  5. 2:5:0 Jumped through some sleet on Saturday when we couldn't get to altitude but it was not hitting the ground. Sunday was still Kansas cold but the sky was much friendlier.
  6. Somebody check the Bonfire list for NEEDS A SPANKING. Spitzer might have signed up! It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough. That's fucked up. Watermelons do not grow on trees! ~Skymama
  7. Add beer and you pretty much have it covered. A hippie stopping by would be cool though. Open invitation stands.
  8. Come to Kansas!!! We need some Hippies tripping through here. There are way to many uptight white folks running around. I'll even give you a lift to the DZ here in the 'Ta. 9. I ran into my 1st one of these guys last night. A little place by my house where I went to get a powerball tix & a beer. So the bartender tells some guy I jump from planes and this guy come over all, "hey man I jump too!" I think I said that's cool and then just waited.... "I got 643 jumps but my knees can't take it anymore." "My last jump was 10 year ago in the Gulf War." Um yea I was ARMY ATC during that pal & I don't remember any combat drops. "My old lady wants me to take her on a tandem but my knees again." I didn't try to call the guy out or anything, I just sat there kind of dumbfounded and let him ramble and then gave him a card to the DZ here in Wichita. I guess I won't see him there. 10. I'm jumping a factory diver and have not had it fog up yet. I agree on the breathing out the mouth to prevent it though. One thing that has happened is (gross part comming ladies) that I've had sinus drip and snot has frozen to the inside. It was pretty annonying toward the end of the day but did not obscure visibility to where it was a problem. I'm prepared to pop the lid at anytime if it fogs where I can't see. FF I'd just let it go. I tried different gloves before I found some that were thin and worked okay. A pair of surgical or latex exam gloves work well as a liner but don't put the gloves on until you need to as to prevent moisture inside. That will keep them dry the whole day. 11. Here in Kansas, we've been jumping all winter and only use normal clothing. Matter of fact, I moved up here from southeast Texas 6 months ago and was worried about freezing my johnson off because of the cold weather and high winds. Not a problem though. On cold days, ground temps 30 and below, I just wear a base of Under Armour and then my fall fast jump suit with a very thin bacclava and a full face. Thin neoprene gloves on the hands. Have not been chilled yet. ElJosh even did a full nude jump back in December and I think the ground temp was 29 F. (There is video) A bunch of us from ICT went to Dallas the last week in Jan and the first jump Sat morning they said the temp at altitude with wind chill would be -29 F. Did not have any problems. In fact there was someone on that load from Alaska who left for a hot tub after that & never came back. Great weekend b/c the Kansas crew had the whole place to ourselves really because of the temps Saturday. I think a thin good heat retaining base layer is the key. Six months ago I would have told you, "You're crazy if you think I'm jumping out of a plane when the temp is 40 F." Mind over matter & modern fabric is all it takes to jump in the cold. 12. Jesus did anybody look at his profile? Houston defense attorney! I'd just run thru my A/R file and find a couple or three "clients" who do good work and are behind in payments. You should get quality work, the job is complete, and you won't have to read the voluminous saftey warnings that came with your tools Please remember to wear your impact resistant glasses when chipping that tile. I would hate to have you put your eye out then sue the manufacturer of the $10.00 chisel thus driving the price of said tool up to $20.00 by the time I need to purchase one. 14. I've read the responses above and am wondering if I need to be worried about anything as my weight has increased by 10# in the last couple of months. I jumped on an accurate scale today and holly crap I'm 184 without gear. So that is going to put my WL at 1.2 if our A/C is flying this weekend. I went down to Dallas for a weekend three weeks ago and didn't notice anything different under canopy but I know I didn't gain 10 pounds in 3 weeks either. I'm jumping a Sabre 170 and my profile numbers are accurate. Not swooping or doing anything other than keeping up on RW jumps. No swooping or anything but have played with front risers way up high. My transition was from a Triathalon 190 to my 170. The big difference I noticed from a 7 to 9 cell was the lift of the 9. The tri was pretty old and I could never really get it to "keep flying". So am I missing something in a .1 change in WL? It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough. That's fucked up. Watermelons do not grow on trees! ~Skymama

  16. So how does that work? Are the jumpers contracted or is a vidiot that you hire to shoot you turn around and sell good footage to this place? I would not think it was legal unless you signed a "model release". Just wondering. It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough. That's fucked up. 17. I need a new pc as my F-111 one is about done. My current pc measures 29" for a 170 Sabre I main and I'd like to get a ZP pc with a kill-line but I'm having trouble finding where to buy one. Square 1 does not have any on it's website and Paragear does not have a 29". Would a 27" work for a 170? (My rigger is out of town for the month). Anybody have any other places to suggest trying? 18. I recently purchased a '97 Sabre I that had 50 jumps on it; still snot slick and have not had anything but sweet openings. I read all the negative stuff here before purchasing and decided to pay my monies and take my chances. I think it has the larger non-modified slider on it and I don't think it even opens briskly. I pro-pack it the same way I always packed every canopy I've jumped; quarter the slider and make sure it is up against the stops. With the Sabre, I pull the slider out a bit over the nose but not so much that the rear clears any lines. I've been playing with it a bit to get a 'brisker' opening but no luck so far. I've split the nose like PD says and rolled each side and I've just droped the nose and wrapped the tail. Same openings. I have not dumped in a track-bad things I've heard. I always come out of my track and get big then deploy stable with my chin up and a little chest high. Good openings. That's my experience thus far. I does open quicker than the Triathalon 190 I flew before downsizing. That thing would snivel forever. I'm loading my Sabre 170 at 1.16 right now. YMMV. It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. 19. Hey Ruby the answer is no! Willie can find you a round tho and I'll cut up your pan and make you some silver wings and we can have a pinning ceremony just for you. That way you don't have to call BS and you get a set of wings, albiet fake ones. It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough. That's fucked up.
