  1. When i first started jumping i couldnt get over how loud it was......now i cant even remember the last time i noticed the noise. But thats probably because im concentrating hard not to get killed by the loons i jump with
  2. Ive got a Silhouette and it is awesome. Nice strong flare and you can really throw it about the sky. Im looking to downsize from a 210 to a 190 and was considering going for a Sabre 2 but may just stick with another Silhouette. Mines got about 500 jumps on it so im guessing that a brand new one would be even more fun
  3. I took my braces off with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver when i was 16, the only difficult part is the bands on the very back teeth. They're still straight but they were covered in cement/glue for years
  4. If i recall correctly Photons only have zero rest mass. You and everything else in the universe increases in mass as you increase velocity, up to infinite mass at the speed of light. Gravity does affect photons too, or at least it bends space time so that they follow a straight path through curved space. Black holes can evaporate because beyond the event horizon there is still a possibility that a particle can escape the black holes gravity. When a particle and an anti particle come into existence they usually anhilliate each other immediately but should they come into existance either side of the event horizon, one will be pulled into the singularity but the other can escape the black hole. The one that escapes is seen as hawking radiation. I think thats right but i may not be 100%
  5. Im sure i read somewhere on here yesterday that you can buy blocks of 50 at Lodi for 13$ a jump. If thats true i know where id be spending 3 months
  6. because apparently some of them keep firing when they shouldnt
  7. There was an incident in the uk on a tandem jump where the drogue got caught around the TI's neck making them unconscious. The camguy - Ronnie O'Brian - rescued them in mid air. The TI woke up under canopy....the passenger thought it was all part of the jump
  8. When i was on AFF i used to look up at cloudy skies with joy knowing i wasnt going to have to get in that plane again let alone jump out......On AFF1 the walk to the plane felt like the walk to my own death. How things change
  9. This is from another board..... All the ops manual has is that jumpers must have a B licence, balloon pilots need 60 hrs PIC of a balloon and a brief from a CSI who has at least 1 balloon jump or a balloon pilot who has dropped people before. And thats it. Hope it helps.
  10. I bought the container and it looks awesome.
