If the cutaway is intentional you must have a third parachute on your person. So no matter what you call the system, there has to be a tertiary canopy. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251

what's your record of jumps in one week?

UPT does have a Tert rig, and I've jumped it before. I believe they required a minumum of 100 jumps, and then there is a period of training on the new system. The system is more complicated than a regular rig (obviously), but they kept the handles in the same places with a few additions. Let me see if I can remember how it went: Regular handles on the rig with the addition of a cutaway handle for the "reserve" parachute immediately behind the reserve deployment handle. The tert canopy that cannot be cutway is a bellymount reserve with a ripcord handle. I hope that made sense. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. I usually have to clear mine under canopy on the first jump. Waiting to get to the ground is not an option. Just beware that continuing to jump when you can tell your ear is stopped up can cause some pretty serious problems. My ear drum kept building up pressure until it ruptured and the fluid came out about a month ago. Now I'm about to have skydiving related Ear Tube number two put in. This one ear has given me problems all my life so it's not exactly unexpected. However, just be aware that there are consequnces to continuing to jump when your ear is seriously bothering you. Memorial Day Boogie-Emerald Coast

Damn, Adam...RTFT. Post 23 from Timber: "We will have Two Cessna Caravans and a C-182 with a brand new 300 Hp motor. Or we will have a Caravan and a Super Otter from Spaceland. " SDA jumpers...gotta love 'em. Bah, I hardly ever jump at SDA anymore. I'm more of a dropzone whore/Farmie these days Thanks for the links to floatation gear. Browsing now.... Hey Andy, do you use two PFD's? One for the rig and one for yourself? Or just the one for yourself? I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. I wonder if the vibrating plane had anything to do with that? I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251

What deos it mean to flip through your risers? Like he actually did a flip right over them? Why would someone do something like that? What would be the point? Yes. Watch the video again. You see the horizon, then canopy, then ground, then horizon again as he rotates around. Right afterwords his canopy malfunctions. As to why..... I guess Harmless already covered that one. It looked like he was playing with a yo-yo there were so many lines floating around. Lesson: Don't be a jackass and flip through your risers. But if you do, be ready for some shit because it just might happen. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251

Working with a forestry company I see snakes several times a month. We usually only kill the poisonous ones that are in our way, and let the non-poisonous ones go about their business. Anyone have details on this emergency bailout video?

The pilot can get out of a mid-sized plane if they have to... but even with a rig on no one said it was easy. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3592741;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread In that thread is a link to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCyt-sIMym0 go to 5:35 and the pilot is talking about why he was wearing a rig. He certainly wouldn't have surived if he hadn't had it on pre-incident. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251 -

And the best part? The next year you get to be on the giving end of the ceremony. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251 -
What a great boogie. Once again Spence nailed it. I had an amazing time, and easily had some of the best skydives of my short career. I'll never forget my pre-second multiple plane formation exit out of an otter to see 69 other skydivers in the air at the same time. Simply amazing. It was good to see everyone again. I don't think I could have been any happier with this weekend.... unless I was the Indian guy that ran the package store. That guy just loves skydivers, let me tell you I'll definitely be back next year. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon. Thanks for all your support! *bows* SCS #8251

On the second to last jump it was indeed only one person that went low, but he was the connector for two or three other outside wackers. So the wackers were linked with each other, but not linked with the rest of the formation. It might be more accurate to say we were one grip short of the record. I had a great time and learned a TON. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work! There's no doubt in my mind we'll nail it next year if we get the opportunity to attempt again. I will be kissing hands and shaking babies all afternoon.
