Questions about AFF with no experience
RIGGER160 replied to boomerang's topic in Safety and Training
It is a dz policy. They can do whatever they want. Absolutley correct. They can do whatever they want. So like I said. Scamming students for more money than they actually need to spend... That is simply your opinion. Others do not agree. And thats why the USA kicks ass! America! Fuck Yeah! -

Questions about AFF with no experience
RIGGER160 replied to boomerang's topic in Safety and Training
There is a difference between recomending a tandem and actually requiring one. Nowhere in the rule book does it say you have to do a tandem skydive before you can do AFF. I wonder how hard their stance really is on that position? -
What do you have to deal with at your airport?

Call it fighting fire with fire, but at least the guy behind the alert isn't trying to scam some poor schmuck, or running thousands of websites (actually a few dozen with geo-locations built in) and trying to get in between the customer and all the real DZs trying to earn an honest buck! Um yes Jeff is. How is he not scamming people? He tells them that if they go to waverly they ont find anything there. Don't like it? Too hot in the kitchen? Go jump somewhere else with no ties to Skyride. I've been told quite a few staff members have done exactly that lately. You want to stay there, fine. You deserve it. Yes I will stay there as I love seeing people enjoy themselves after an exilerating tandem skydive and just because staff members may jump elswhere doesnt mean anything (we are allowed to have fun when we travel Mr. Fun Nazi) -

Jeff, what he is trying to say is that there is no scam at waverly. Your anti skyride websites are one thing but your website that says there is no jumping in Waverly is just absurd. We jump every weekend. No scam there. -
Once they are packed you can and should lock the pin in place similar to how a rigger does with your reserve. The thread should be easy to break when you yank on the lanyard to deploy them.. BUT not so strong as to keep it sewn in place. Thats what happened to me today on a water jump. The B-7s had FF thread on them instead of a lighter ticket. Luckily one of us found the mistake and quickly fixed it.

In all fairness to me? Come on dude really? I wasnt the TI. I was just pointing out the flaws in the thread... Maybe an apology to the TI for all the bashing, oh wait that cant happen cuz he works at ASC...come on people grow up.

Who's living in fear? Having a look around my good old Europe, I deally doubt we're living in fear, unarmed and such. I feel safe, our policy and police is working quite good - so why do I have to be armed in daily life? Safe in Europe? Yeah tell it to this guy...
