  2. We have confirmed 2 182's for the weekend and possibly a 206 for Sunday. Saturday's meal will be prime rib, vegetable lasagna, and sides for $10 per person. This is a $25 per person meal. We are getting ready for a fun weekend with friends old and new. Hope to see you there. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  3. We regret to announce that the scheduled Otter for this year’s boogie has mechanical problems, and despite the anticipation of being repaired by now, the part needed has still not been fabricated. I have been in contact with many other sources, but have not come up with another available turbine for the event. We are still having the reunion, meal and any jumping we can accomplish. We are sorry for any inconvenience, but we look forward to making the best of having more time to spend with old friends. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  4. So who is planning to attend? I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  5. Dave, Not that I would put money on it, but I think the 30 was a stretch. I had talked to the TI once I realized it was happening. They were lurks at a distance. To my knowledge anyway, he hasn't actually videoed a tandem. I agree, and so did the TI after we talked, that he should not have let me lurk. That said, he has done and seen what he has done and seen. He has started videoing 2 and 3 ways and some canopy flight. RWS answered me a couple of years ago that if a TI renews with USPA they did not have to renew with them and could follow USPA's video recommendations. He should have all of them done prior to their even being an opening. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  6. Not yet. I know he is getting close. He is an ambitious young jumper and trying to be ready if he can. He bought a camera setup before I would let him jump it. After much discussion, he started jumping a camera. He should be qualified by USPA recommendations by the end of March, but he still has another ahead of him for the slot. As far as his skills, he is progressing very well. I would like to see him get a little more air time with me or another experienced jumper, but nothing he could not accomplish in two months of jumping. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  7. Let me ask this: If the manufacturer doesn't want you to RENEW with them, would you not only need to follow USPA recommendations? I will also clarify that this jumpers sees a slot coming available at the end of March and is trying to be prepared for an opportunity. He is also battling a more experienced jumper that may take the slot and a TI that is considering Handycam. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  8. Sounds good.... No where we can find any swoopers? I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  9. We do have a helicopter scheduled for an 8 am arrival. You may Pre-purchase jumps through manifest now. Todd Bell want to bring the Otter up when they are done at Skydive Houston. There is no promise, but if they get everything done, they will fly it up and hang around fro the party. 1 slight update. We are still grilling burgers, but we changed the hot dogs to sausage. We already have the beer on tap. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
  10. From: Todd Spillers [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, September 22, 2008 8:18 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: AOT Memorial Boogie 2008 Minimized Due to Hurricane Ike and its aftermath of continued power outages and personal loss, we at Skydive Aggieland have come to the difficult decision to minimize the 9th Annual AOT Memorial Boogie. We will honor the memories of our skydiving friends and family, both those who have gone before us, as well as those serving our great country in the armed services, by focusing our attentions on helping Ike’s victims in and around our area. We have requested that our usual catered meal as well as our donated lunches be used to help the victims of Hurricane Ike. Skydive Aggieland will still be open for jumping October 3-5, and we plan to have several 182’s available for formation loads and SCR jumps! We will also have burgers and hot dogs for the grill and the usual kegs for a party Saturday night for any and all. We hope to see you then. Please add your name to the list on the 9th Annual AOT Memorial Boogie page on FaceBook: http://www.new.facebook.com/event.php?eid=51471885252&ref=ts. The 10th Annual AOT Memorial Boogie will be October 2-4, 2009. A group of local AOTers, led by Kay Choate, Angie Morehead and Jan Richards are planning a “BIG” AOT reunion to coincide with AOTMB 2009, so please watch for updates through the Skydive Aggieland forums, FaceBook, and our email newsletters! 15. Still compiling. DZO's and Instructors - feel free to call me at Skydive Aggieland for what I have been told. As I do not have first hand knowledge or proof in hand, I don't feel comfortable posting. I do have multiple trusted sources however, so I believe the information to be accurate. I may have my own chapter to add soon. I am not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.
