  1. well im really not sure as I moved cross country shortly after that. I never asked why at the time due to the shock of him saying NO Jumping..... I guess I should talk to my new ENT and see what he has to say about it. The presure I get can be intense and LOUD. LOL The worst is when I deploy below 5K. A normal deployment around 3k and my ears are so tight and then they start what I can only describe as Screaming for the deployment and a few seconds after. The sound is horrible and sometimes Painful. I have at times even had to be real mellow with turns under Canopy due to getting very dizzy with just a single 360 from my ears being so damn clogged. Well I assume it has to do with that since thats really the only time I have that issue. Guess I'll have to go talk to the ENT... Silly me took the word of 1 doc and just didnt want to get confirmation I guess if he was actually right LOL.
  2. I just ask people ...Do you think you want to become a Skydiver? or Are you unsure if this is for you? Depending on their answer I give them my suggestion. If they say they want to be a skydiver and understand the dangers involved then they should do a Real FJC. Be it AFF, S/L, IAD. If they are on the fence or are just there for a ride I say Do a Tandem. Thats what I told My nephew this month when I took him out to the DZ. He said He wasnt sure if it was something he wanted to do more than once but he had to do it atleast once. So he did a Tandem..... Now he Wants to be a Skydiver... I knew when I headed out to the DZ I did not want to be strapped to anyone else. I wanted to be incharge of my life. I had jumped SL in the Army but that is for real comparing Apples and Handgrenades. BTw I told my Recruiter that I wouldnt Sign until I saw on paper that I was going to MP School, Jump School, and would be stationed at Ft. Bragg. I knew I wanted to jump outta Air Planes.
  3. but then again the Lic Requirements have changed as far as Jump #'s :) Hmm is that a 500 Jump D-Lic you got or a 200 Jump D-Lic Like I have:) OK Im going away again:)
  4. ever try using a simple saline type of nasal spray? Not to be confused with something like Afrin...DONT USE AFRIN! they make sevral types of simple saline nasal sprays that will help with keeping your sinus moist and this may help with the nose bleed deal... OK Any of you Docs are free to chime in here:) I went through Major sinus issues b4, during and even now with skydiving. but more now I have issues with my ears rather than my nose... It took my ears like a month to clear after 3 jumps in aug. then I jumped this month and didnt have a single problem for about a week but then started having issues again. so While I know Sky diving doesnt cause all my problems I know it can comlicate them. I have trouble with what seems to be a lack of drainage from my ears. Had one ear doc tell me he was going to put tubes in my ears...I asked can I still Skydive? He told me NO!... I said then Ill let them burst and Ill be deaf but Ill still Skydive.. Never got a second on his No SKydiving. Any of you jumping Docs got any info on if you can or cannot jump with ear tubes? Ok back to the nose thing Ask a doc about a Saline nasal spray:)
  5. http://www.uspa.org/about/images/memsurvey06.pdf has some of the stats your looking for
  6. YOu see TK's avatar... LOL I started jumping in the AFF Program at Zhills when TK was still walking around with hardware from that:) If TK could get back in the air after that lovely pond swoop LOL anyone can... :) I envy you in the fact that you know you can deal with a MAL where as I have yet to Chop one and that kinda bugs me... Get back in the plane and JUMP! Hey TK.... Rosy says HI:)
  7. LOL I did that for my first 100 jumps and a little beyond.. I was always fascinated by how fast things get as your falling towards them:) MAkes for crappy openings and some that slam to crap out of you! especially with a canopy that has any tendancy to open brisk or slam you dont want to be in a slightly head down when it decides to slam!
  8. ok now ya gotta post the video!:)
  9. Anychance we could go back to not bashing the Military folks? It's really getting old. Argue the facts involved with the individuals not where they came from as not everyone in the military or served in the military is as mindless as you are trying to point out. Let go of Old Shit and Move the Fuck on already!
  10. LOL then they need to learn to look back at them and present a GREAT 1 Finger Salute. I am sure that turning back and looking at them might take a couple more seconds :)
  11. Again I would really like to focus on my jump not sit there and do math for everyone on the plane. As far as this goes...If you are trained to count in a Cadence, as we were in Army jump School, it is pretty easy to get an accurate count and be fairly consistent. Example: I asked my wife to run a stop watch and not tell me the times until we were done with 5 attempts. Using the cadence I was trained with in the Army, I counted from 1 thousand, 2 thousand…up to 10 thousand. These are the times she reported. 10.30 seconds 9.89 seconds 10.21 seconds 10.20 seconds 9.80 seconds That’s an Average of 10.08 seconds with only a variance of .50 seconds over 5 attempts. That seems pretty damn consistent to me. I just don’t understand why something so simple has to become some long drawn out Math Class. Most people understand the risk involved in skydiving. If they don’t then they shouldn’t be skydiving. I really dont see a need to make this all so damn technical and scientific for the average jumper. Just seems to me that if you set a basic base time between groups then adjust from there for changing conditions and groups the world will be right. Teach that in FJC's. Teach a Cadence before they jump. Hand them a stop watch and have them practice during class breaks. Seems pretty simple to me..
  12. I am by no means a Moron...But you guys just gave me a Freakin headache.... I think ill just go back to guessing at what time seems sort of safe and go with that..... You know and with what jump pilots seem to make for wages and it seems that alot of them are just there to get hours so they can go on to a better flying Career how many of them do you think are reallubg going to do all that math plus do the other stuff they are doing and be accurate... Maybe we should require all jump Planes to have a second seater who is a Math guy and thats his entire job, to do the MATH. I bet that would do wonders for jump ticket prices... So can we get a "Jump run Seperation for Dummies" version of all this mumbojumbo? Thanx. I mean after all, WE JUMP OUT OF AIRPLANES, there is Risk. What I want is something that works for , NOT REMOVING ALL the Risk but something that gives me some slightly better odds for seperation with out a headache.
  13. dont some DZ do AFF at 16 with Parents Consent?..Seems I have seen some DZ's listing that
