  1. If I had to choose; I'd get a Micron. I own a Mirage G4, and it's so similar to a Micron, except that the laterals on the G4 are sowed onto the hip rings instead of the MLW. This causes the G4 to lift off the back considerably when in a sit position. Although, I think the G3 does have the laterals sowed onto MLW.
  2. As someone who works in the medical industry... A physicians practice is his private business. He is responsible to to keep it afloat and turn a profit just like any other small business owner. Many physicians don't take patients that are apart of the state funded program medicaid. Why? Too much paperwork and too little reimbursement; if they even get reimbursed.
  3. so true. yeah you're right, I would totally buy a video like that. Great idea!
  4. yeah they're dumb...waste of money. Anyone can say keep your head back and legs down when flying a sit. Want to learn? go fly in the tunnel and/or get coaching. But if you do want to watch some videos for free...look up Niklas Daniel @ expert village. your welcome.
  5. Stop acting like a girl...shut up...and stop fishing for attention.
  6. Love how someone mentioned how blacks might have an increased perception of danger, haha. That is definitely a stereotype manifested by movies. I don't think we need to psychoanalyze this one. People like to stick with what they know. A large majority of skydivers are white. Until more and more blacks participate, what black guy would want to be the only black guy on the DZ? While not a big deal, that person would probably enjoy, say, basketball because there are more black people participating. How would you feel if you went to a dropzone...and everyone was black? would probably feel a little uncomfortable with where you fit in and not feel like you culturally had much in common with the people.
  7. about 79 at z-hills ... 737 goes under dc-3 ........ removed for environmental reasons... conserve pixels !!! ...... One occurrence for you from 1979? yep ... 1 in 79 ... course with 42 (counting pilots) on 40 tango and approx 110 (guess here) on 737 .. had we been 150 ft closer.... that would have been 162 dead .... that would average 5.58 per year up to current ... of course jumping would be different because i'm sure they would have slapped a 100 mi buffer out from every commercial airport ... bye bye Perris, Elsinore, Z-hills, Deland and Eloy and probably just about any drop zone of any size whatsoever.... Sorry, I guess you missed my point. You personally only having one incident in 30 years would not make me believe (in your case) that it is a major problem. Also 42+110=152. sorry.... you missed my point(s)... A. it will take one MAJOR incident to change skydiving forever... B. it will take 1 minor incident to change YOUR life forever (forever being the next 3 to 90 seconds, depending) ... so if someone sees something (and they dam well better be looking as soon as the door goes up) ... then a go-around is totally justified (and this from someone who asked for a go-around ONCE in approx 1000 spots, pre GPS) .. go arounds are cheap.... collisions aren't ... the whole point was a reply to things like this : "Id venture one in a billion chance. Its a pretty big sky. " and "I'd venture there have been at least a billion jumps in history. How many jumpers have ever impacted a lower flying plane? " and "Dude, a lot of people on here are going to inflate the significance of events or risk because they are dorkzoners (internet skygods). I have never even come close to this type of situation and neither has anyone I know." (if you ever do... hope you don't die either) and "Exactly, so jump f$%k out and PRAY that you don't get struck by a plane. That's what I'm thinking every jump. " and "Don't forget, we're talking about near misses, and indirectly referring to people getting hit because why else would we care about near misses? And my original response was refering to that type of situation being a problem. It's not. Jut skim through the fatality lists... " and "ok...so that's 2 skydivers total, right? And what year did this happen? It's significant when people die, but come on man!!!! seriously? " and "However, I have seen far too many go-arounds on jump because someone saw an airplane directly below. A practice that is completely ridiculous. " if you look down, see something, and go around ... you have totally controlled the situation .... chance of collision = 0%.... if you ignore it (it'll be gone when we get there, or DON'T even look) you now have a finite probability of collision ... might be small... but IT IS NOT 0% if people stop looking, or start ignoring ... there will be a catastrophic collision ... the only question is when ?? for the sake of all the quoted people here... hope it doesn't happen on their watch... and they are not branded as the careless douches that cripple skydiving forever ... ummm...no shit. i never said first person shouldn't spot.
  8. Yeah, and I heard about a guy from the 40's that hit an airplane in GERMANY! To make it easier, please scan back the past 5 years and see how many people you can come up with that nailed a plane in mid-air... I don't even know why I'm still in this thread. This crap is hardly in your control. You can scan before exit, but really with a plane traveling at a high speed, you're probably not going to see it any way. Might as well discuss things that are a significant problem and in your control....outta here. Can I be on your ash dive? Sparky What a moronic statement. You're basically saying that I have an increased chance of hitting a plane (uncontrollable event), even though I take the same precautions as anyone else IF exiting first (scan for planes). Are you actively scanning for airplanes during freefall? Lol. classic example of a dorkzoner. Arguing about insignificant events that are mainly out of your control, and treating it like it's the #1 danger we face and can control.
  9. Completely depends on the girls body frame. No guy likes "booby-do's!" That's where the stomach sticks out further than the boobies do! Slender girl with a full A or B cup is heaven, and they know they don't need bigger boobs usually. Now, take an attention whore slightly over weight and she'll go straight for the fake boobs to take your attention off the result of her impulsive eating habits and lack of motivation to exercise :-)
  10. omg, don't even start about the false advertisement in the US.
  11. It's true. You don't have to move that much, it seems. Simply touch and retouch 45 times. God knows why it takes so many years of jumping and hours in the tunnel to learn that little fact :) I've been spicing up my own skydives with a lot of unnecessary movement for years, maybe this is where I have been going wrong... :-s Bloody boring world records, it aint fun unless you are GEEKING OR FUNNELLING, everyone knows that. You should have a point docked if you fail to pull a face on exit. (And while we're at it, what's with the boring black or navy suits and predictable white gloves? Where are the go-faster stripes, and Hawaiian or cow-print suits? How about some flames or bikini babes on the helmets? Dull, imagination-free, athletic purist, competitive ba$tards!) ;-) I'm not talking about uncontrolled movements, I'm talking about more challenging draws in a more challenging orientation (i.e. Arsenal) And don't start about stereotypes...
  12. I doubt you ever got past a novice expectation on your belly (you probably call it the 'deployment position'). So how could I expect you to understand it? There's a whole other level of body control beyond grasping at someone and trying to geek the camera. I have more FF jumps than you have total - and 3x that many RW and competing. Other than the total energy in FF being much higher (higher wind velocities require smaller movements, but also give opportunity for more power to use) I find them to be identical in overall concept - for that matter, I'm a better FFer because of the RW time - and vice versa. It's all just pushing air to make your body do what it takes. If you really want to be a total body pilot, you have to get over this beginner ego thing and learn from everything in the sport. If you want to call that an insult or a slam, that's up to you - most people take that as just good advice. But expect to get slammed when you come over to someone else's house and put down their best. What did you expect? Wow....again with more credibility and personal attacks. I saw on other threads guys clearly presenting a better argument against you with the whole RW vs. FF. You continually resort back to I HAVE MORE JUMPS and YOU DON"T KNOW SQUAT. Congrats.
  13. Anyone see Arsenal's 35 points? All 4 team members were constantly turning 360 degrees, rotating the piece, and one member was designated to transition orientations; Now that's impressive!!!! Who was it that was saying VFS has even less movement....yeah you were wrong. Check out the video.
  14. freeflying is the future, but RW will never be extinct. Seems just like surfing. In the 60's and 70's, long board surfing was very popular. When short board surfing was introduced, newer surfers entering the sport chose that "discipline" because it was more challenging and expressive. Now today, more surfers are on short boards and that will continue to rise as the older guys retire from the sport.
  15. Actually, I was saying the VRW must be easier because they move even less (that was tongue in cheek to make the point) - I'd seriously align most with equivalence in ability to be a top contender. And the top RW and top VRW flyers agree with that. The only exceptions are most stunted egos that assume whichever discipline they are in MUST be harder. The pro level of these sports is so far beyond what any 2 or 3 hundred jump wonder can imagine, that it's pretty pointless to discuss it with you. If you can't appreciate all the disciplines for what they are, then you don't really understand the whole sport. Pretty pointless discussing anything with you....once again with the personal attacks: "The pro level of these sports is so far beyond what any 2 or 3 hundred jump wonder can imagine, that it's pretty pointless to discuss it with you." "I'd seriously align most with equivalence in ability to be a top contender." And I wouldn't. Freeflying encompasses 4 orientations (2 for a majority of the time) where RW only includes 1. The difference with the other 3 orientations is that your body doesn't naturally orient itself to that position. The equivalent is taking docks while standing on a rocker-board. From personal experience in surfing, I compare the two like short board and long board surfing. We're still surfing the same wave, but in very different manners. And yes, one is more challenging than the other due to the amount of balance needed.
  16. And everyone who says that probably couldn't get 10 points out of that draw. Just because they make it look easy doesn't mean it's actually easy. What draw? Is my point. The formation seemed to never change shape. only two of the guys ever came close to turning 90 degrees. the other two were completely stationary.
  17. this is typical from people who can't dock in control in any orientation (belly, head up, or head down) - I suspect your idea of fun is a trash dive where everyone 'attempts' to get in front of a camera guy for the 2 or 3 seconds to stick tongue out at him And you are a typical forum writer; if all else fails and you don't know what you're talking about, attack the other persons credibility.
  18. and the world record VRW dives are even more boring as they are even closer to each other..... - so that must be even easier to do I agree that it's almost as boring to watch 4-way VRW, but what a leap by saying it must be just as easy to do...I don't think anyone would believe that statement. Nationals is so boring to watch, except for 2-way freefly. I would hope that nationals transforms into something more exciting to watch in the future, similar to how surfing competitions transformed.
  19. yeah...45 touch and retouches. Looked SUPER difficult, lol.
  20. 45 points, lol. Yeah those points looked SUPER difficult. So difficult you don't even have to move...you just touch and retouch 45 times :-) Everyone I have talked to says the same thing...most boring thing I have ever seen.
  21. 2 points for Lucky. 0 points for DougH. DougH is a typical forum writer; if all else fails and you don't know what you're talking about, resort to personal attacks against the other person.
  22. The one and ONLY person I buy all of my gear from.
  23. I'd love to get this bitch's number and prank call her all day. Which would make you, in your own way, just as bad as she is. How so?
