    Looking.....
  1. loli-75

    Do you smoke?

Whoa!! Hold on a second. Did you just call your mom and aunt "fucking idiots"? I'll admit - I'm seriously sleep deprived so I'm hoping I misunderstood that. I did get the fact that you were trying to insult millions of people who you know nothing about. I'm sorry for your situation - but calling family members who are dying or who have died of cancer "fucking idiots" just seems a little harsh. Unfortunately, addiction doesn't play by the rules of common sense and logic. Addicts don't think - "Well this is bad for me and could kill me so I'm just not going to do it." I wish it were that easy. Oh, and no - I don't smoke.
  2. Congratulations on your license! Has your ear pain gone away totally when you jump yet - or do you still have it? Also, I've heard about people having ear pain while jumping - but I've never heard of nosebleeds before. Do you know why that happend? Do you tend to get nosebleeds when you're having sinus/allergy problems when you're not jumping too? Sorry for all the questions!! I've had a lot of sinus & allergy problems ever since I moved to Texas. I still don't know why - I came from Louisiana which has really bad air - amongst other things!
  3. I reallllly hope you're right!!! Especially about the puking part! I've read on here that some TI's carry a plastic bag with them in case a student gets sick? Does it happen that often? And I've read that you definitely should eat something that day before going - which I had NOT planned on doing at all. I was thinking: nothing in my stomach = nothing to projectile vomit onto anyone else! Guess I was wrong. I'm trying to think of something really bland and inoffensive to eat that day. Any suggestions? Maybe grits? Over the last week, I've even started having dreams about jumping! I can't even get it out of my head when I'm sleeping!
  4. This may be a little late - but I just saw this thread for the first time. First let me say, I'm happy your friend got clean and is doing well. I hope he stays strong.
  5. Oh my Lord! I haven't slept for the past 2 days and when I read that - for some reason I read "It will be the LAST thing you have ever done"!!! I was !!! Okay, yeah, nevermind. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement!!
  6. You actually look pretty calm! Granted - not anywhere near as calm as the guy behind you looks (is he awake? or maybe the pic just got him mid-blink?) - but you don't look too scared. Were you freaking out on the inside though? And was it pure terror when you were in the door?
  7. Unfortunately, I haven't got to do it yet. Grandma & Mom each had a trip to the emergency room within a week of each other. That + various other assorted family drama = no fun/terror for me. But I do have to say that sometimes being around my family makes me want to jump out of a plane soooooo much worse than I already do!!! Too bad we couldn't have 'em all go up in the plane with me -I wouldn't have to worry about the tandem instructor pushing me or not cause I'd be pulling his ass out of that plane as fast as I could!!!! Seriously though, I have decided 100% that I AM going to go no matter what! And I'm actually really getting almost as excited about it as I am scared - and I am REEEAAALLLLLYYYY scared!!!!!
  8. LMAO!! Ear plugs is a good idea! I guess that way they can avoid any verbal abuse, loud, gut-wrenching sobs (probably going to me), and/or begging for them not to jump that a tandem could throw their way. I could see some people getting pretty verbally abusive. On the other hand, it seems pretty stupid to say ANYTHING negative at all to someone who you're jumping out a plane with and the ONLY one with a parachute.
  9. Oh my Lord!!!! You're supposed to look UP? I guess that's a good idea. I'm sure it has more to do with your body position than for your psychological state -but it probably would help with my terror too. But I'm thinking my eyes are going to refuse to be peeled away from the ground thousands of feet below!
  10. Holy crap!! You mean it's even more scary the second time??!! I can't imagine being more scared than I am now!!! Too bad you can't do AFF with a tandem instructor strapped to your back! Isn't AFF where you have two instructors on your sides holding onto the grips on your suit? I think I've seen video of it. It made me REALLY nervous. Isn't it easy for their hands to slip off? Instead of just holding on, couldn't they use some handcuffs or something??! A shoe lace?A twisty-tie at least?
  11. WHOA!!!! Wait a minute!!! You mean I have to try to remember to do stuff BESIDES not puking or peeing, on myself and/or tandem instructor??!!! To all of yall who didn't do a tandem for your first jump- I can NOT even imagine how brave you would have to be to do that. I CAN imagine that I would have to be in a really big plane though - cause they would need a bulldozer in it it to push my ass out!!!
  12. I wasn't sure about what DZ to go to at first, but after the responses I've gotten, it's definitely going to be Skydive Spaceland!!
  13. Thank y'all so much for replying! I was scared everyone was going to just laugh at me and tell me not to bother going. To all of yall who have been on a tandem already - do you feel like you want to throw up? And did any of yall exit the plane backwards like on that video? I had never seen that before. In all the videos I watched, they all seem to go the same way.
  14. I'm seriously crying right now after watching that!!! I feel bad - but I'm laughing so hard I literally have tears streaming down my face!!! When I first heard the screaming I thought it was the lady who had just jumped. Then when I saw it was the NEXT lady to jump - I knew there was going to be a problem! The look on the tandem instructor's face is priceless!!! Poor guy!! I shouldn't laugh too hard - my video might end up being worse and show up on there one day!! I've watched a lot of videos of tandems lately (trying to get my courage up) and I've never seen them go out backwards like that. Is that common?
