  1. I too LOVE skydive Utah. They have always been fabulous to me, even when I wanted to jump still on student status. Excellent dz and it's beautiful! I went a few weeks ago and my sister did her first tandem with Fish. Sergio did her video and it was one of the best tandem videos I have ever seen.
  2. I'm thinking Great Britain.
  3. I'm going to have to agree too.
  4. I love to log. I write down what kind of exit I did, names of jumpers, all kinds of random stuff. It's fun to look back and read them. Plus, since I'm still new, it's nice to see how I have progressed. And I like logging special things, like when friends/family do tandems, new rig, that kind of stuff. My mom loves to read through it too to see what kind of stuff I'm doing.
  5. I just got my own gear about two months ago and it made all the difference. You'll notice a HUGE difference then. I just had to deal with it until then.
  6. 0:1:0 Got one awesome jump in at Skydive Utah with my sister on her first tandem. I LOVE Skydive Utah, they are an awesome dz with a great view. Unfortunately my family wouldn't wait around for me to get anymore jumps in. Guess it's not as fun hanging around the dz when you don't jump.
  7. congratulations on completing your level 1! I hope you can make it to next week to get to jump again.
  8. I completely agree. It gets easier to focus the more you do it, and once you go uncurrent it backtracks and gets a little harder to focus again.
  9. That's awesome. I had a similar experience a month ago. I got pulled over after work at like 2am, I was going about 65 in a 40, i ran a red light, and my registration wasn't current (I just hadn't put the current tag on). I got pulled over, and thankfully let go.
  10. LongWayToFall's thoughts exactly! Micah...when are we getting on that?! Lodi doesn't have anymore full on "boogies" it seems like, but we were thinking get a few kegs, pick a weekend, and let everyone know. Who's down!!
  11. YAY BULLDOGS!!!! I went to Fresno State, it's sooo good to hear positive publicity about a sports team there. Those guys are awesome and deserve it so much! I think softball and now baseball are the only two collegiate sports programs there to go all the way. Aside from the club women's waterpolo team that won national championships the last two years...but of course it was cause I was on that team. Haha...jk.
  12. Awesome first boogie! I had a million firsts at that thing. I think the most memorable first I had though was my first time in a bad spot landing out. I picked a sheep pen to land in, and I hit a fence. Thankfully it just resulted in a few scratches, nothing major.
  13. So I just bought my first rig and my rigger did a repack and altered a few things for me. Aside from the fee I owe him, is it normal to tip him or give him something as a thanks? I have no idea what is the common practice.
  14. I had a very similar feeling too. After my first tandem I was hooked. I thought about it pretty much every day for a year and a half before I took AFF. And taking AFF is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
  15. Go crotch rocket for sure. There is just something about a man on a crotch rocket that is very hot...
  16. any themed parties at this boogie that I should prepare for?
  17. I jumped at skydive Utah last summer in Toole and had an awesome time. It was my 16th jump so I was a little nervous, and they helped me out, talked to me about landing pattern and it was an awesome jump. Plus the view was amazing. :)
  18. Hey Tommy! I'm glad you're back in it! I was there Saturday but had to work Sunday and I'm so sad I missed you. I finally bought a rig and I've been going on most of my days off...so hopefully I'll run into you soon! And I agree, Lodi fucking rocks. :)
  19. Wrong if I find this video absolutely HILARIOUS? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBlgSz8sSM Seriously, I could watch it over and over and still laugh till I cry.
  20. I'm going! Hopefully I'll have a rig by then, and hopefully they can make my jumpsuit by then. :) It will be my first boogie and my first time jumping at skydance. I will owe lots of beer. Do a lot of people stay the night, how exactly does that all work?
  21. I would say they are all addicting in their own different ways. Benzodiazepines for example are mentally addicting. When you start taking these to help with anxiety, or depression, or whatever it may be it becomes nearly impossible for you to try and deal with those issues without the aid of the drugs. And then you become used to having their aid, so when you get even remotely anxious you want something more to stop it immediately instead of dealing.
  22. I'm completely obsessed too. I prefer Ambre, just because she seems more normal out of the two, but I bet he picks Daisy. And I can't wait for season 3 either.
  23. Registered on Jul 8, 2007 Then: Just graduated college, 22 years old, just moved out of my parents house for the first time to a different city, spent my summer skydiving like crazy and spending my savings account on it. Single, just loving life and my dog. Now: 23 years old, working full time, just got recurrent and hoping to skydiving once a week if possible. Life is not as pleasant as it was when all I worried about was jumping. :)
