the farm was the 17th dropzone i traveled to since i started skydiving, and despite having been to some of the so called best dz's in the country, i still call the farm my home and favorite place to jump. when i arrived on a wednesday afternoon i was greeted by the staff with open arms and was encouraged to get my gear ready and start jumping immediately. i made one solo skydive because i fly a wingsuit, but it only took that one solo before i had people coming up to me inviting me to join them on a jump. the family atmosphere at this dz is almost unrivaled, and no matter what your experience level you are guaranteed to find people to learn from and have fun with. the professionalism of the staff is top notch and i was immediately inclined to return and join the staff for the latter part of the season. i moved up from florida to the dz to work for a month as a packer, and that month became 4 followed by a severe depression when i had to finally leave. hans paulsen has stated in parachutist magazine that people come to the farm and stay for years, and you really have to experience the place for yourself to fully understand how accurate that statement is. whether you are coming out for a tandem, aff, or just to make new friends to jump with you will find no better place in the entire state, and it is more than worth traveling from out of state to be apart of the magic that makes the farm one of the highest rated dz's in the country (courtesy of dz.com) CAN"T WAIT TO RETURN!

perhaps you are misunderstanding what i have said. first, i do not own a katana (have only demoed one) and based on that experience i know exactly how the canopy flies. second, i only offered my opinion because he is progressing very quckly like i am and i dont want him to make the vewry common mistake of becoming over confident. finally, i don't encourage fear at all, i simply want to make it clear that the Katana WILL hurt you if you are not ready for it and the margin for error is much more slim than the sabre2 or similiar platform. aside from that, the only subjective "feeling" i have stated is the "several dozen jumps" which is merely meant to be a suggestion not a statement of fact. PLEASE take your time learning on a sabre2 before even thinking of a katana of the same size. the katana has extremely high harness input and dives very deeply with a long recovery arc...if you don't take it easy for the first several dozen jumps on one you will find yourself in the hospital and then buying another sabre2 when you get back into the sport. thanks for the information, i was wondering why my hc5 kept going back to auto focus and ruining my best jumps! will remember to reset focus every time. and what is the "blurb" ? Blue Skies Filled with Birdies, Jeremy R. Marston

just wait till you are averaging 44mph like i do (yes, average, not just hitting 44 @ 6g), and you have to get the sm1 so you can attempt to go even slower...my goal....to have my dives be in the lower 30's for the whole dive. Blue Skies Filled with Birdies, Jeremy R. Marston

hi everyone, my name is jeremy and im an ADDICT. i have had to purchase 3 ws this year and still own 2 of them and i don't think i can bring myself to sell either of them. in the end, you will continue to put money into nylon crack until you are a wingsuit instructor and own enough suits to fit everyone that may be interested in getting training at your dz. and even, then you will probably still put money into it. btw, why the hell do you want a classic? tony is the only way to fly! so, i have more ws jumps and total jumps then you do now eh? can't wait to fly with you again though! hope you are enjoying that sm1 too! Blue Skies Filled with Birdies, Jeremy R. Marston

mach 1, 185ish jumps, sabre2 170 @ 1.3, i pull at 3000 on most occasions unless i am really flying for a long time and then i might burn a few more hundred feet, lowest pull ever was 2k on my first 3+ min flight. also, i pack to open fast and deploy in about 1/2 to full flight. Some may consider this spamming, and i will remove it if necessary, but i just got back from a 10 dropzone vacation and have some amazing video footage to share...you may even see your home dz! had a great time flocking with birdies from many states and i look forward to more time n the great blue! youtube.com/hurrikanejae please let me know what you think! oh yeah and having 178 wingsuit flights feels great! indeed, i got training from randy the bird guy at palatka and there are about 3-4 regs there every weekend flocking together. as for the intro suit, everyone is right on when they say how great it is, and the value is second to none! Blue Skies Filled with Birdies, Jeremy R. Marston

everything has been said, but i think the sabre2 offers everything a novice-intermediate pilot is looking for, and even a beginner if flying conservatively. this canopy offers great flaring capabilities for soft landings and also lets more aggressive pilots to swoop it when loading. i know that from the first flight on this canopy i would never go back to aerodyne's pilot..and the same will be apparent to you if you demo the two before purchasing.

Just got my pro-track that i just "HAD" to buy so i could "upgrade" from my gfx and have a way to mount on the outside of my helmet. Unfortunatley what i got was a smaller but less user friendly device than i had really wanted to deal with. the initial programming you do for setting up any new audible/computer was impossible without the instructions and the device shut itself off at least 10 times while setting things up. after the intial shock of "clunky user interface", i was happy to know it beeped at 1k feet to confirm it's on and remind me to take off my seatbelt. the warnings are loud and distinct and always on time even on the outside of my hurricane helmet. the other major reason why i miss the skytronic gfx is because this audible does not have any canopy warning sirens. this is a major turn off when you are comfortable with at least 1 siren telling you not to turn or manuever below a chosen altitude. overall, i would say if you have to go with an outside mount, the purchase is a must...if not go with the gfx or neptune..both are more bang for your buck.

i have a hurricane side mount setup with a hc20 and was wondering what type of lens i should add. i narrowed my cost options down to a .45 lens for now, and saw this one on ebay. is this the kind of lens i should look for or what is a better option in this price range? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=200189715838&Category=64327&_trksid=p3907.m29 thanks in advance, and no im not jumping it this season... As a weekly jumper I have to be fair in beginning this review by saying I jump here several weekends a month. To explain further, I do like living near this DZ; however of the 5 I have been to in Florida this is THE worst. Besides the few pros I mentioned, it would take a lot of thinking to come up with more. Ironically though, on any given weekend I can add to the cons list. Such as: this is the worst DZ for learning to skydive due to the understaffed conditions. While almost every DZ offers AFF with two instructors, this one only has 1 AFF instructor and between waiting on her and the plane, you are better off traveling to learn how to skydive. Once you get trained up and solo, the DZ is okay "IF" there are a lot people (usually only saturdays) AND you need absolutely no services. I come out on saturdays and as long as I keep to myself and do nothing but jump, i generally leave in a good mood. To wrap things up; this DZ just meets the requirements for "okay" if you live relatively close by; but if not, don't waste your time driving 2+ hours like some of the junkies at this DZ do. Oh yeah, lately the manifest guy has been doing a pretty good job of organizing loads so you don't have to be solo; however, this hardly makes up for all the lack of other services... p.s. there is no on-site rigging services offered, you must leave your gear with the owner to attend to at her own leisure!

Just like all the other reviewers and opinions, the pilot is the ultimate 9-cell canopy for any beginner to intermediate canopy pilots wanting to learn new techniques, and master new skills before moving onto to an expert eliptical canopy. The pilot has allowed me the opportunity to actually watch my parachute open while I'm in a comfortable sitting position. That view however, comes at the cost of 1,000 feet of opening time, so be prepared to adjust your deployment height. The pilot 210 I am flying is loaded at 1.18 and it falls noticeably faster than my previous F1-11 PD230; however, it does have an excellent input to output ratio; that is it takes very little toggle input to get a great response. The cons are self explanatory, and the pilot is a great investment.
