    Skydive Miami

I jumped at Z-Hills for three years. I did my AFF there and got my A license there. Great DZ, we all know it, enough said. I found out I was moving to Key Largo and started researching DZ's. I found SkyDive Miami on this site and got a little concerned based on some of the negative reviews. I decided to go visit the DZ for myself and check it out. Those negative reviews (in my opinion) could not be more wrong!! I walked in the door and was greeted by Fred (head honcho). Told him I had my A and just moved nearby. He dropped what he was doing and gave me the grand tour of the place. He got my paperwork squared away and was very disappointed that I wasn jumping that day. I told him I was just checking things out and he understood. I've been jumping there for about 6 months now. Everyone is great. It's a very enthusiastic enviornment that focuses on instruction, safety and fun. They do little events and contests all the time for all skill levels. Yes, you have to take a shuttle back from the LZ to the main building; but it takes all of 30 seconds. If that's what's going to throw you off then I'd suggest that you'd probably find something else to get upset about anyway. And because it's not a high volume DZ you can't alway just show up and get on a load. So I plan better now than I had to at Z-Hills. It's good for me!!! SkyDive Miami is my new home DZ and I'm looking forward to meeting any of you who decide to join us.
  2. That's good stuff! How about: The salesgirl said that tan is slimming! No, she said 'You must be kidding...' Say what you mean, do what you say.
  3. Hi there! I just did my AFF at SkyDive City. I graduated on 07-01-07. Everyone is great there. You don't need to choose an instructor, they more or less choose you. They're all great. Drop me a line when you get settled into town and we'll get together in Z-Hills. My friends and I can introcuce you to everyone. Say what you mean, do what you say.
  4. Does anyone jump using music earplugs; e.g. ipod? Say what you mean, do what you say.
  5. I did my AFF 1-7 here and was impressed with everyone's attitude. I'm new and not experienced, but I remain impressed with the set up.
  6. Hey there. Welcome to the sport! I went to High School and College in VA so I know the area a bit. Keep up your work and we'd love to show you what the DZ's in FL have to offer. I escaped VA............... Say what you mean, do what you say.
  7. Sounds great, thanx! I'll let you break me in at a new DZ
  8. So, if I understand all this correctly, it doesn't matter what kind of helmet you wear; only that you're smart enough to wear one...... I mean, it doesn't have to be "rated" for skydiving or anything, right? Say what you mean, do what you say.
  9. Hey there everyone. Just joined the forum and I want to introduce myself. My name is Brian Dougherty. I live in Sarasota, FL. I'm new to the sport and I just graduated my AFF at Z-hills on Sunday!!!! Thanks to Sally, Eric, Marius, Bill, TK, and Aaron for jumping with me. And thanks to evryone else at Z-hills for all the help and advice. I can't wait to keep at it! I can't make it up to celabrate the 4th today (cookout at my house) but I'll be telling stories about you guys... Say what you mean, do what you say.
