Drew and Steven are both tunnel instructors at ifly Hollywood and are great coaches too! Of course, it does kind of depend on what you want to focus on , they work in freefly, but I am not sure about RW.

Is there a certain number of minutes for warmup as part of each registration -- to determine wind speds etc? Please let me know (could not find any info on th website). If so, is that the "Friday" practice time?

I would recommend SkyVenture Colorado for a variety of reasons: Colorado has a great climate and is very pleasant in the summer. There is tons to do in the summer in Colorado other than skydiving (if you stay extra days ) such as white water rafting. The staff/coaching in Colorado is AWESOME, if needed, their instructors/coaches can assist you with everything (Dan Perry and Rusty Lewis are on a team that does 4 way VRW, 2 Way VRW and 4 Way FS) Cost of hotels/other costs are very reasonable in Colorado. The tunnel is very conveniently located and competitively priced.

UPDATE 1/21/2009 A note to all of the Summit Challenge competitors - There has been some queries about the specifics of a rule posted about the competition regarding entrance procedure for 2 way VFS and 4 way VFS. As with other similar wind tunnel competitions utilizing the same rules as these I would like to clarify the following for all competitors; For the 2-way VFS competition in both the PRO and INTERMEDIATE Category, all teams will begin each round from the entrance door of the tunnel, the time starts the moment a team members feet leave the floor and enter into the wind. For the 4-way VFS competition in both PRO and INTERMEDIATE Category, all teams will begin each round with all team members standing on the net inside the tunnel, the time starts the moment a team members feet leaves the net. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused, and I hope this clarifies the specifics of the rules. UPDATE January 16th, 2009 JUST TWO DAYS LEFT TO REGISTER! With 42 teams registered, we are nearly at capacity for this event, so we will be closing registrations for all events on Sunday January 18th at 10pm. WARMUP TIMES WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY JANUARY 30TH FROM 8PM TO 11 PM ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. IF YOU WANT TO UTILIZE WARMUP TIME, PLEASE BE AT THE TUNNEL NO LATER THAN 8PM FRIDAY. WE WILL START SCHEDULING EXACT SLOTS FOR TEAMS AT 6PM FRIDAY JUST BEFORE THE HUCK JAM. THE PURPOSE OF THE WARMUP TIME IS TO DETERMINE YOUR WIND SPEED FOR EACH EVENT AND TO RELAY THAT TO THE MEET DIRECTOR. THE DRAW FOR EACH EVENT WILL BE COMPLETED JUST AFTER THE WARMUP TIMES HAVE BEEN FINISHED. THIS WILL BE POSTED ON THE SVCO WEBSITE JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT ON JANUARY 30TH. All huck jam sessions are full except Wednesday Evening from 8:30 to 9:30. There are 3 spots left in the Wednesday Huck Jam. We are hoping that another 4 way VFS intermediate team will sign up for the competition-- If anyone is interested in being part of a 4 way VFS intermediate pick up team, please contact Jennifer Tinucci -- we are taking names for people who are interested to help coordinate an additional intermediate team. Hi Everyone, Thanks to all of you for getting your registrations in for the Summitt Challenge! Due to the huge response we have had for this event, there are very few spots remaining. With 40 teams regisitered so far, we can only accomodate a few additional teams. Space will be allotted on a first come first serve basis, and when we have reached capacity for the event, we will go to a wait list for additional teams. There is a little bit of training time left for Wednesday and Thursday, so if you signed up for reduced rate training time, make sure you call the tunnel at 303-768-9000 to book your exact time slot.
