  3. Yep, even if you pay for your slot and take photo or video your not allowed to post the images on the internet. In our contracts theres something about any images recorded during operation are the companys property. I don't even know if that is legal. Heres another one for you... we are also not allowed to smoke. Not just on site, but during work hours. So, even if you leave the dz, your not allowed to smoke. So many rules! I'm 92kg. Drogue was out, tandem jm is the same weight as me and the customer was 100kg and very round. The speed was recorded as I went through 12Kft which was while I was on my way back down from getting some pics from above. Yeah we use kph down here :)
  4. Yeah, tell me about it. Not even allowed to put photos on facebook or anything.
  5. video or it didnt happen My particular DZ doesnt allow any use of footage taken by staff to be used in any way other than to be given to the customer - fireable offense! Even sports jump footage cannot be used. It's BS. I almost lost my job for uploading footage of my first mal. I have a photo of my N3 displaying the speed (@ 12k) after the jump that I can upload - but that doesnt prove I was on my belly at the time of the recorded speed. I know I did it, wouldn't post it otherwise.
  6. Anyone know if there is a record for fastest flat fly speed? Just cracked 291kph (180.8mph) today in baggy pants and a wing jacket. Thinking 300+ wouldnt be too hard in a tight fitting suit! Previous best was 276kph, on my belly with people comfortably flying head up with me :) Cheers
  7. Im personally saddened to hear your opinion of your experiences at the school. I completed the course about 1.5 years ago and experienced nothing but absolute professionalism from all levels of staff involved. I then completed my 3 month workplacement at a busy dropzone and am now fulltime camera, doing the job that I dreamed about having after doing my first tandem. The course really did give me a great skills base to build on and I would recommend it to anyone looking to fast track themselves into a career in the industry. I spose like anything, you get out what you put in. I also must mention that I had a great time living in Methven and met some great people while I was there. I hope to visit again sometime soon. I hope this helps tell the other side of what it can be like at the school, the whole experience changed my life and got me into a great well paying job that I love doing.
  8. Yeah sure. Heres the story from a local paper. I still cant belive that the government will let you have a student loan to learn about and how to skydive. Kick ass http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/11/story.cfm?c_id=11&objectid=10432019
  9. Hey all! My g/f shouted me a suprise jump for my b/day a few weeks ago and, bang - hooked, 1st jump! Ive since signed up to do a "Diploma in commercial Skydiving" which I start in october, its a full time year long course which you do 200 jumps in, so I thought I may aswell try and learn anything I can before that kicks off. So yeah, This looks like a good place to be digging around! Any help, advice, or anything else is appreciated. Thanks!
