Hi Phree
You the man.
ROne Jump Wonder -
Bob_ChurchThis may be easier than I thought. My biggest concern is that I only have information from other sources: books, magazines, that sort of thing.
But it turns out that that's all that wikipedia wants. They don't want first hand accounts, they want citable data.
I'm gathering and formatting it offline (habits left over from playing with computers in the 80s, where you did your programming on paper first then used valuable computer time to enter it) and hopefully will have something up soon.
Got a link?

Hi Ski and Dough.
Your both correct in a way. AirBNB is like a box of chocolate you don't know whats in the center until you bite into it.
NEWSFLASH: Sorry you'll have to google this.
Trump towers had a condo listed on ABNB for a long time until about a week ago.
Only $300 - $450/night
Great view of the Manhattan skyline.
Excellent security.
FWIW I'm not a fan of AirBNB.
To the mods this is not a political rant, or a anti new wave rant The knowledge gained from this thread may enhance the skydivers DZ experience.
If you want to hide this thread in the deep black hole in SC what ever floats your boat.

Hi John
You realize this container was designed for the wingsuit people.

quade******No. The trail of "evidence" is far too tainted. This will never go anywhere except to help promote the cottage industry of speculative fiction surrounding the case. We might as well be talking about Bigfoot.
Quade.
Any chance of locking this thread.

It would be more helpful if people just let it die.

I don't want to confuse the issue with the facts.
But if you think this thread is going to die on its own , you have unrealistic expectations.
Your the mod do whatever you want, maybe this websight needs the extra traffic.
Have a wonderful day, and jump until you puke.
Chow baby

Hi mate
I have 1300 jumps
The feeling your experiencing is what we all experienced irregardless of gender or experience.
It's what keeps us alive.
Have you looked at the incident forum. Read that forum, it was written in blood. Don't do what they did.
I hope you got lot's of money, jumping is a money pit, and you have to stay current.
Be well, don't worry be happy, jump until you puke

Hi Bill
This is a old post, but I know a very handsomely dude that jumped a 10 year pack job in his main and a fresh pack job on the reserve (5 cell swift)
Terminal velocity is a wonderful thing. The main sabre one, opened marvelously.

ChaosMaking my own certificate is not out of the realm of possibilities as I've downloaded a copy of someone else's. Would rather have the blessing of someone from the WFFC staff.
You might be right about the list being long gone. I figured it was worth coming here and asking.
I have one of those certificates
When I got my certificate in the mail
I just used sharpie to turn three letters into two, of course it was obvious
But so what.
The certificate was framed and is hanging on the wall.
IMO if you got the jump in your log book, make your own certificate and don't sweat the small stuff.
Jumping the jet was a hoot, the peeps on the plane made it even better, I'm still laughing about the 2 young ones that jumped butt naked. Don't have a clue where they landed.

pchapmanThere's gotta be someone out there in Texas with enough enthusiasm about skydiving or sense of history to want to preserve this material! (And with some space for boxes.)
When I started in aviation, getting a huge pile of old Sport Aviation or Sport Aerobatics, years of magazines to read through, from someone leaving the sport or clearing out their basement, that was awesome.
Maybe this stuff could be advertised on some DZ's facebook pages or something. (Although Mr Webb, while being generous, probably doesn't want to spend a ton of time trying to flog the stuff....)
Hi PC
Of course I had my collection of parachuting mags. But eventually time moves on.
I'm guessing that someone has already digitized their collection of parachutist mag. Imagine 40 yrs reduced to a cd or thumb drive. I wonder how much that would cost if it hasn't already been done.
The digital collection might be more efficient, but I can still remember waiting for my mags via snail mail.
O the joy when the mail god would favor us with a paper copy. That's one part of the sport that can't be duplicated these days. I long for the pre digital days, just the grape vine and the fire pit.

Hi PZ
Danger ranger. Shopping during the holiday's is what it amazon.
Back to your question about wheels for your machine.
I was a wood worker. Lots of heavy machine, the band saw and drill press have a much higher C.G..
Not everyone has unlimited space so the wood working industry came up with mobile bases for these tools.
The bases that I was familiar with were adjustable. The machine sits in the mobile base.
I suggest checkling oUT amazon.com for woodworking tools and bases.
If you've been good all year, Santa might have one on sale. One Jump Wonder -
mab1218Hello
I'm looking into buying my first rig but I'm on a tight budget so what I can afford seems to be older rigs .....
So my question is would you feel safe jumping with a rig manufactured in the 90's ???
Depends on the how well the owner took care of their kit. Some owners respect their gear like a new car.
Some owners don't give a shit, because they know their going to upgrade, every few years. They leave them in the sun unpacked, etc etc.
The winter season is starting lurk the ads their should lots of used gear coming up for sale.
HAVE a trusted qualified rigger inspect the gear. Have them tell you the remaining life on the aad.
Good luckOne Jump Wonder -

meekerboyHi there,
I am trying to trace a very old (maybe 1960's) skydiving movie where there is a sequence of multiple parachutes opening one after another, but all from one skydiving system. I thought it might be the Gypsy Moths, but now I cannot find that sequence anywhere online.
Can anyone remember?
The 1960s isnt very old , or if it is that make us who were jumping then very old.
Spoiler alert watch the movie and pick up on the line ***jumping isn't only a way to live but a way to die.
That line got the dude laid that night, .
Time for my nap.

Take your own gear.
You'll probably enjoy jumping onto a tropical beach from an Mi8 or An-2.

BeatnikYou can access UPT's Facebook page without registering. Many of the photos are there but not all. There are a lot of photos and video of the event that haven't surfaced yet. They will in time.

Thanks Beatnik
Interesting pics of Mr Booth.

airtwardo***Where's the pics ? where's the video ?
All over Facebook...
Hi Mr T
Glad to see I wasn't the only peep that was confused
A clicky to the Pics and video in "Da Book" would be adequate and solve the failure to communicate.
At least we wouldn't have to register in Da Book.
But that's way to easy and probably not doable.
It is what it is.
Let me think about this a .01 sec. I could register if I needed to.
I'll pass
