Vaulted ceilings....oh yeah. I actually got very creative with mine. My kitchen and living room are an open floor plan, both with vaulted ceilings. I painted the living room one color and the kitchen another, up to the vaulted ceilings. Then, I painted the vaults in mirroring colors so the two rooms flow nicely. A trick that I learned to make the perfect line

I have almost finished painting my entire house. I have to say that the Ralph Lauren Faux finishes are GREAT! I have used the suede and the River Rock, but they are time consuming. The Behr paint has been my favorite satin for the money, and the Glidden sucked!! I have used very deep colors, and other than painting over the kitchen wallpaper, have not used a primer. A tip that I learned... if you are going to be painting for several evenings in a row, don't clean the brushes/rollers, wrap them tightly with a trash bag and put them in the fridge! This also works with staining, as I have built a lot of wooden units lately. Painting is fun! Don't be afraid to go bold and have fun!! We even did a skydiving themed guest room with bunk beds and rig racks. The walls are bright primary colors with sqaures all over them. I too was adopted, as well as my brother. I found my birth mother when I was 19 and learned that my birth father walked and thrust $300 to her and told her to have an abortion. She used the money to move home and stay at the church until she had me. She had a terrible pregnancy and was in bed for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. She was very young and new that she could not give me the life that I deserved. I also learned that my father died 10 years ago. I sought out my birth parents to learn of my medical history after I had cervical cancer, and also to learn more of what I might pass on to my son. I do not really keep in touch with her, but I deeply respect what she did, after all, she gave me life. It is my parents that raised me though, and made me who I am today. My brother never wanted to find his parents. I do remember when I was growing up, as I always knew I was adopted, dreaming of finding out I was a princess, or a movie star's daughter. As far as the comments, "You are not my real parents" I am ashamed to say as kids growing up when my bro and I were really mad at our parents, they were said. Looking back now, it was a way to test my parents authority, and to push a button that really hurt them. I have apologized for it as an adult, and they were greatful for that. Keep in mind that kids always look for buttons to push, and that is an easy target. I would not worry too much, especially in a young child, as they do not neccessarily understand the full impact of what being adopted means. I now have an 80 lb lab that is 3 years old. From what I have been told, she is one of the best mannered labs. My trick? I got her at 7 weeks old and took her EVERYWHERE. She slept in my room, was always at my side, even if I went to the store to pick up milk. Of course, she still thinks that she is an 80 lb lap dog!! I also worked, and a kennel during the day is a great idea, if you live in an apt. I had a house, so I put a kiddie pool in the back yard for her when I was at work. I also had a friend who would drop off her dog during the day. Dogs tend to be destructive when they are bored, so a playmate is always a good idea. If you think you can handle it, then get 2. I am so excited!! Eagle Flight is a wonderful dropzone with some wonderful people. They made me feel very at home and welcome when I moved to Fort Worth. The otter is going to be great!! I leave Dallas at 5:19pm and arrive Atlanta 8:39pm on Fri. I leave Atlanta 6:09 and arrive Dallas 7:32. Sucks that I have to work friday, but am bailing out a little early to catch the flight!!
