Unusual Incident: Blinded by Condensation
rockola replied to AviationTD's topic in Safety and Training
I have one (1) jump on a G3... fogged up so badly I could barely see. Also, since I hadn't practiced it on the ground (silly me), I couldn't get the visor to flip up. -
But wouldn't that be... exercising said right?

+1. I was given one by someone who upgraded to a lighter model. Big enough for rig, helmet, jumpsuit, shoes, and will survive even airline luggage handling.

I've landed a big, slow 270sqft student canopy on rear risers, brakes unstowed. It was hard bordering on impossible to steer, it was so heavy. I don't think I could have managed a 270 deg turn in a reasonable amount of time. I imagine leaving the brakes stowed would not make it any easier to steer.

Have hooded sweatshirts ever caused a malfunction or incident?
rockola replied to cocheese's topic in Safety and Training
FWIW I've thought about this too, and will not jump in a hoodie. I have enough clothes so I don't need to. -
Gospel according to Stalin?

Quote That seems more closely related to santanism Have faith, for He will once again walk among us mere mortals come December.

Full face helmet okay for beginner jumper?
rockola replied to seanhindzinger's topic in Gear and Rigging
I don't mind the wind. Getting kicked in the face is another thing. My jaw was sore for a week after eating someone's boot on exit. I bet I would have enjoyed it even less without my Factory Diver. -
Hear hear. Used to drive a 924 - loved it. Funnily enough, the people who think they know what a "real" Porsche is, or should be, usually haven't ever owned a Porsche of any description.

Not sure what it was like when you were there but Caboolture does just about no tandems at all. Focus is AFF with a little S/L thrown in sometimes Sounds like he went to Willowbank instead of Caboolture; the latter is not really known for running the Skyvan.

If it can be shown that the business engaged in fraud, the directors can be held personally responsible, Pty Ltd notwithstanding.

I'll be in Finland for all of August. Any boogies or other skydiving events happening? I already know of and plan to go to the Comp Air Boogie.

Done 200 jumps on a Sabre2 @ WL 1.5, haven't had end cell closure once.

Are you still afraid of the door?
rockola replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The door is fine once it's open, it means it's playtime. It's the closed door that gives me the s***s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCyt-sIMym0 -
You mean like these? (Sorry for the s&^*ty photo.)
