  1. Hi E, Following from the dec99 issue of the mag, so I don't know how up to date.... Airsports Insurance Bureau Ltd 01983 298 480 Columbus Direct 0171 375 0011 Extrasure Travel Insurance Ltd 0171 480 6871 Snowcard 01327 262 805 West Mercia Insurance Services 01993 700 200 (also known as Harrison-Beaumont Insurance Schemes) Backpackers 01702 422 301 Nat West Travel Insurance 0800 331 133 MCIA Sports Plan 01480 218 273 The first three companies above can provide separate cover for skydiving only, ie, not necessarily including general cover for matters such as travel or loss. This is handy if your holiday is half-beach/half Twin Beech or if you want to spend a few days in Ampuriabrava before a business bash in Barcelona. In other words, your travel insurance may cover a few weeks but if you're only skydiving for a week, you can take out skydiving insurance to cover just that week. Good luck, enjoy yourself. D

You should have hung around Jim, Krista got hers for her 1000th, depsite pleading that Canadians get champagne, chocolates, and flowers and such like....... Matt escaped though...His time will come. C y'all in a couple of weeks, D
  3. Texan Hospitality, turbine engines, and the Carbone's Turkeys, not to mention the weather.. yeehaa Cya D
  4. PC7 was the first of the small upright digital cameras that we all know and love. Its a great camera, I know loads of people who use em including myself. Okay it doesn't have the same features that the more modern models have, but its perfectly suitable for skydiving. When it was released, the advert (UK) was a couple of folk geting married in a DC3 then jumping out filming themselves, I think it was Wendy Smith and Patrick passe that 'starred' in it. Mine still works perfectly after many years of abuse, and use as an edit cam/deck. Spare batteries may be hard to come by though.
  5. A wise old instructor once told me its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground....... Watch the winds and learn to suss where to expect rotors thermals etc, if you do end up in turbulence, put on a little brake, and get ready to PLF. If you are gonna be landing on or near highways, disconnect your RSL (if fitted) and get ready to chop once you are on the ground. You don't want to land safey then get caught up on a pssing vehicle..... 2c worth....(1.4 pence) Cya Have a safe weekend.
  6. Yeah, I was also fooled by their ability to talk to each other @ 120mph etc etc. But hey, its only make believe after all.... :>)
  7. Point Break does it for me, any of their exits are cool, and the movie inspired me to sign up for my first jump course.
  8. Yup that was me, and hey, I'm bringing more Scots to the DZ this weekend. See you then.
  9. As a newcomer (and a new.commer) to Houston, and Spaceland, I had a great time there last weekend too, I guess I'll just have to come back for some more fun next weekend. This place and the people are just great. After all, Scotty and I are from the same part of Scotland..... Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Live fast, take chances, Nac
