  1. Don't go to sleep sucking on a red cough drop to ease the sore throat part. In the shower the next morning, I coughed up what looked like a mass of bloody lung chunks. Scared the crap out of me till I realized what it was..... [:/]

  2. That's not correct. I was diagnosed as type 1 at 45. When your body produces insulin but doesn't utilize it, you are considered to be type 2. It's the most prevalent form of diabetes in this country, and is usually the result of a poor diet and/or lack of sufficient exercise. Type 2 can often be reversed with lifestyle changes. When your pancreas stops producing insulin all together, you are considered to be a type 1 diabetic. So far, there is no cure for type 1. Daily insulin injections either with needles or a pump are required. While type 1 diabetics can be diagnosed at a very early age, hence the (improper) name "juvenile onset", type 1 diabetes can appear at any stage of life. Sometimes, like in the first response and in my case, for no apparent reason. There is no history of diabetes at all in my family. I'm 5'9", 165lbs and commute by bicycle 6 miles each way to work year around. Hope this helps...

  3. One evening after jumping concluded at Zhills, Mark was conned into doing an "Atomic sit up". After a nose full of asshole and balls on his chin, he was known as "Ballsack". Until he later tried to start a borrowed dirt bike from the wrong side. He either bent the hell out of the shifter, or broke it clean off. Can't remember. He's called "Kickstart" now... ;)

  4. Hey Pat-

My Dad's name was Hale Castleman (D-1070, GW-601). He ran the school, was the Safety Officer, flew the planes, ect, at West Point (Skydive the Point), back in the '70's.

As far as the image thing goes, add this line in your text:

    Works great!

  7. Soooo.... When my dad passed away, everything skydiving related came my way. He was an instructor, rigger, jump pilot, ect... I basically grew up at West Point (AKA Skydive the Point), in Virginia, back in the 70's. I have a Singer commercial, I think, sewing machine. Model # 196K5. Anyone here know what this might be worth to a current rigger? I'd really prefer for it to stay in the skydiving community.
