  1. I was just wondering how a dzo determines at what altitude jump run will be for their dz? I'm guessing the type of plane and airspace class would be factors but I don't know either how much the climb rate of a plane decreases after a certain altitude or how the airspace classes work. Anyone? Watch out for the big banana.
  2. Does anyone know who the demo jumpers are that are jumping into the virgin festival in Baltimore on Saturday? I'm working security for the show and I want to come check them out. Watch out for the big banana.
  3. I have a skymaster 200 and I like it a lot. It has nice openings and is easy to pack because it's a zp topskin and f111 everywhere else. The skymaster is definitely less responsive than your tri 150 but if you're upsizing it's probably because the tri was too fast for you so the skymaster is perfect Watch out for the big banana.

  6. I was wondering if anyone knew what was up with freezefest at xkeys. I saw on their website that it is scheduled for feb 2-3 but couldn't find any other info. I was thinking about making this my first boogie, so the more I know, the better. Also, anyone from maytown thinkin about goin? Watch out for the big banana.
  7. I'm going to be in the LA area (thousand oaks/simi/moorpark) visiting my dad this next week and was wondering how much jumpin there is going on. I guess specific DZs I'm talkin about are perris, taft, elsinore. All of them are about two hours drive from where we'll be. Just makin sure that they're all generally busy enough to fill loads most of the day. We'll probably be jumpin either the first weekend (12th or 13th) or sometime during that next week until the 18th when I leave. I've been to perris before but never been to either taft or elsinore. Thanks! Jason Watch out for the big banana.
  8. AWESOME!!! I can't wait for it to open! I think you'll have more than enough people to fill loads. Watch out for the big banana.
  9. I think I might convert at least for a little bit to chambersburg. I did my A license training there so I'm a little partial, but I want the altitude and the possibility of more than a four way. During the winter months (jan-feb) how does the amount of people compare between the two places? See you at chambersburg soon. Watch out for the big banana.
  10. I'm a relatively new jumper who is totally addicted to larger formations. I had the pleasure of being able to jump with my dad in the Mark and Darryld big ways in august and I was totally hooked. Granted, because of my low jump numbers (42 at the time) and that I hadn't known (or jumped with) either Mark or Darryld before hand, I was in the base. I still got that feeling of total teamwork which I miss since I quit college football. Besides just working on being a better flier in general, I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on what to work on specifically for larger formations? Thanks Jason Watch out for the big banana.
  11. Any news lately? I'd drive by to see it, but it's a long drive from baltimore just for a couple of pictures of the site. I would practically live there if this place opened up in time for winter. Watch out for the big banana.
  12. This post is about me saying thanks to Mark and Darrlyd down at Perris Valley for letting me be apart of their big-ways last weekend. I came into the day of jumping with 45 jumps, a fast fall rate, and a father who has about 5,000 jumps and is a regular at perris. Without even seeing me jump and going with my dad's word, Mark and Darryld allowed me to be a part of the base for the big-ways. It was awesome. A lot of the guys couldn't believe that I was in on the formation with only 45 jumps. My biggest formation up until that day was a 4-way (I come from a c182 DZ). It was a great learning experience and I just wanted to thank them for letting me show them that I could do it. I know that I still have tons to learn about flying my body but that's an experience I'll never forget. Thanks again guys! Jason Hamm Watch out for the big banana.
  13. That'd be pretty sweet if a dz opened up in belair. What's the airport up there called? Anyone have any contact info? Watch out for the big banana.
  14. I saw a website for a new tandem factory that opened up right across the bay. Don't think that counts as a drop zone though. Still, the closest dz to baltimore is Maytown Sport Parachute Club (Pennsylvania) Watch out for the big banana.
