  1. Does anyone know if there are any web portals I could use to send text messages from my phone internationally (to Poland)?

Verizon, & most U.S. carriers/are is on the CDMA system, while the rest of the world, or at least most of it is on GSM - and this is why my text messages aren't being sent or received, in 1 direction or the other. Verizon says that you can send texts internationally, but I think to them internationally means Canada [only] ...:S

So what is I'm looking for is a way to send texts to Poland's cell phones from my phone via a web portal & have their texts received here. Possible? With all the technology that we have, this should be beyond simple/easy...

Been with Verizon for 6+ years...

    ZERO problems in ANY area!

That's the 1 problem with T-Mobile that I've had...trying to call anyone while at Airventure was a bitch & a half! Granted, it's because so many people are there & the towers are overloaded but still, all the people I know on Verizon that were there had no problems...

  7. I'm thinking about switiching over to Verizon, but wanted to hear personal experiences with Regard to their customer service. Currently, I'm wth T-Mobile (I have a good track record with them for 3.5 years), & don't get me wrong - I am happy with the signal strength/coverage; the cuustomer service is nothing short of great - good price too.

But lets face it, Verizon has the biggest & best network, the data speeds are faster & they have a better selections of phones. They are roughly $30/month more expensive than what I pay now though, so I want to know if they're worth it.

My only hesitation is the customer service; I've always had a great customer experience with T-Mobile; I never had a problem that wasn't resolved...fast.

Your input is much appreciated. Thanks. :)

  8. I need a flight from, from Chicago, to Warsaw, Poland - this month. The average price is $1,300-$1,500, given that its the summer season. Does anyone have a hookup somewhere? - or can give tips on how to get last minute flights cheaper? Figured here was the best place to ask since most of you fly all the time.

    Thanks! :)

  9. I have a guest staying with me from Poland, & for the last half hour I've been trying to explain to him that - yes, he can drive here in the U.S using his his Polish drivers license [as long as his visa is valid & he has his passport with him]. He can even bring his vehicle here, from Poland & drive on U.S. roads, as long as the car is registered here. However, my friend keeps insisting that - not only can he drive using his home country's drivers license, & driving his car from his country which is brought over, but also that he can drive said car on its Polish license plates... He thinks that he only needs to buy U.S. insurance coverage for the car I keep telling him that, no, the car has to be registered here for the time it will be driven on U.S. roads. His response is: "well, how come an American, German, Croatian, or anyone else can come to my country & drive their car on their original plates, from their home country?..." I keep telling him that it must be Poland's law, or law of the European Union - but he keeps insisting that it is an international law & thus he has a right to drive his car, using his license, & license plates from his country.

His argument is that the same car, with it's unique corresponding vin number cannot be registerd in 2 places at once.

His argument is ogical, therefore I think that maybe in such cases temporary plates are issued that you can drive on for as long as your foreign drivers license is valid (which, according to U.S. law, is as long as your visa is valid). But I still wonder if you can drive a foreign car with its foreign license plates on U.S. roads.

People bitching about this guy being disciplined, but lets face it we're not seeing the whole picture here. You don't know what happend just before the incedent or what was happening out of shot, up the road or if a big gang of fans had just beaten a police office half to death moments ago. This is typical of libral bleeding hearts who hate America. I say lets stand by the hero cops who have to deal with this sort of scumbag daily and have t make split second decisions which may end their lives if wrong. He had it coming.

It is precisely because we don't know what was going on moments prior, out of shot, that we shouldn't assume - anything - including that the cops are hero's...

BTW, Skymama, Why were you at a strip club, and why did these drunks call you while you were there?

    :P

So, here's a quiz...do you think I've ever been to a strip club before?

I've never been to 1 - & have no interest in ever going. I don't see the appeal of seeing some strangers tits & ass.

So you are saying you never looked at "name the rack thread, or name that ass thread on here?" :P

And besides, I said I don't see the sense in looking at a strangers titties/ass. We're not strangers here on DZ.com :);)

I dont have a phone. Let me tell ya, pretty liberating.

I don't know how you, or anyone for that matter can do that these days.

I don't go crazy without my phone for a day or something, but definitely don't like not having my blackberry on me at all times.

Most people probably secretly laugh at me for always having a bluetooth earpiece on too... Hey, I walk with crutches - you try picking up a phone while having to hold them...

Hoping that the president of the USA is killed in a plane crash puts this thread firmly into Speaker's Corner territory.

somehow I didn't see that. That is beyond stupid, I can't believe someone would imply such a thing! >:(:|

I wish you guys would just delete posts like that, I really wanted this out of speakers corner.

To the poster that posted that - thank you, really... :|

  20. Mods: you moved this to speakers corner why?...

Let me guess, the 1st picture was a cross...

"oh no!...a religious symbol...lets move it to speakers corner..."

If that's not the reason, than I apologize - but that is what it looks like.

For being a community of skydivers, this site sure is up-tightly politically correct.

Say "God" here [and no one even said anything about God in this thread] is like saying "bomb" on an airplane. :|
