--how do you justify eternal punishment, man?... I'm sorry, but society wouldn't even condemn Hitler to burn forever. Furthermore, how do you reconcile a loving god - but one who E.also is willing to send people to hell?

The god of the bible sounds like an egotistical, power-tripping pricK... I'm not interested.

Personally , I think the concept of hell is a bit over blown. Allegorical fire is used in the Bible to cleanse both those who love God and those who don't. I imagine hell will be a place of regret over lost opportunities. What ever the place is, it is not Gods best for us.

    ...

This is just one of many biblical inconsistencies. Read Romans, chapter 9 - and then tell me man has freewill; any choice in the matter...

Myths that are false fade away and pass out of our collective consciousness. Truth, survives cultures and time because it is always relevant.

Wow, talk about bullshit hyperbole. I'm sure that makes for great talk with the investors, but I'm fairly certain that's not going to happen.

I'm with you, but unfortunately, technology is advancing faster & faster - so who knows... [:/]

It will be 43 years since the Lake Erie tragedy. Just think of all those 16 people whose lives ended on that jump, August 27th 1967.

They would be like me...getting old and grey....not many would still be jumping by now, but they were a historic tragedy on that day. I for one, won;t forget any of them.

    Bill Cole D-41 Canada.

Is the tragedy the reason why U.S. jumpers cannot punch clouds?

  • So, I was crashing on the couch yesterday, & caught this program on the history channel, titled "The Gates of Hell" It was about the *reality* of the existence of hell (righttttt...). Of course I didn't buy it, because as far as I'm concerned, all these stories [myths] concerning hell are due to the evolution of religion; it's a well known fact that all religions borrow aspects from each other. But than my mom brought up an interesting point, pertaining to the fist cultures, such as the Mayans and others of the time - how come they believed such notions? Especially since, the world being as primitive as it was back then, their wasn't much in terms of migration, so oral traditions were not big.

My explanation was that humans, having the imagination capabilities that we do are quick to think of worst case/best case scenarios; it's something inherit about it. I mean, realistically, these myths had to be thought of, before being passed globally. Surely, the original story was anything but the version that we have in the present day; the thing with myths is the longer they survive & are passed on, the more they are believed, & more so, defended with [supposed] rationale

Anyone have more sophisticated ideas? I'm curious to hear some.

Yes, but he also stated sold as is I would say than that buyer is stuck, not the seller.

  • For all you know he's full of shit & is trying to fuck you over. What is the time between him receiving the unit & contacting that it's broken?

If you stated clearly in the listing that it's sold as is than all your bases are covered & you're under no obligation to do anything - and I wouldn't do anything if I were you. Contact eBay & explain the situation; if you're left with negative feedback in this case, eBay will more than likely remove it (don't quote me on this though).

These quotes did make me laugh "Maclean was considered one of the air racing and aerobatic communities' most vibrant and passionate characters"..."known at the Race Airport for his expressive Latino temperament"

The last time I saw him we were nearly screaming at each other over a disagreement we were having. He stopped cold-a huge grin broke over his face and he said "Shane, I love you friend-but you ARE wrong."

Sorry man [:/] - my condolences to all his family & friends. After reading the article & your reflections I came away with the sense that he was definitely an interesting character, & an all around good person.

Yeah, you can't exactly go and call anyone copy cats. Christianity is basically just Judaism which was edited and adapted.

    .

A lot of the Old Testament (Torah) myths can be traced to even earlier religions in Mesopotamia, Babylon and Sumeria.

Can you point me to books on this subject? I really would like to be more educated in the matter.

I usually find it annoying when people post religious/anti-religion or political stuff on FB or myspace (whether it's something I agree with or not). I don't say anything about it, but if a person makes it a regular habit, I either delete them or at least block them to where I don't see any of their posts.

It's anything but a habit of mine...it's maybe my 2nd post in month somewhat tied to religion. Just something I found that i thought is funny.
