Not at all, just an observation of mine.

I don't get banned here - I have no need to suck up.

Seems you have no sense of humor either, it was a JOKE!B|

More often than not, it's difficult to pick up a tone via the internet, especially if you never met the person.

Now, if you called me a pillow bitter I would have :D:D

No matter your religious views (or lack there of), burning anyone's religious texts only further promotes hatred, adding fuel to the fire.

I tend to agree...however, after thinking about all this pyro lunacy, there may be some exceptions on a personal level. Say this Jones guy had some muslim converts in his church as he claims...he also claims to provide food and shelter...maybe even money for ex-muslim women. Now if these muslim women or any former muslim felt a personal need to burn the Koran, I would definately support it because it's a personal thing, not meant to obtain publicity or incite anger, even if the end resulted in such things. To me, it's a matter of the heart.

It's not to uncommon for some Christians to make a list of all their shortcommings and burn it as a symbol of moving on and away from that lifestyle.

Some Christians burn their pornography collections.

I once dated an athiest and found some risque photos of her...a little while later, i saw her outside weeping as she burned them.

    It's a personal thing.

See, that's a profound difference, & that being the case I agree with you.

On another forum I somewhat frequent it's enough that you write out one sentence slightly off topic & they start threatening to close the thread. And forget about saying even the most tame of curse words... :| I don't know what's up their ass, but - God damn! :S:|

28 years! I quit "cold turkey" after almost 20 years
of smoking. Don't miss it at all now.

The other night, when I lit up for the 1st time I felt really guilty; "What the fuck am I doing?" was definitely going through my mind. I have since purposely left my pack in the car.

I enjoy coffee & cigarette in the morning before breakfast, & then various times throughout the day - but I know this shit is going to kill me....& quite possibly soon. So it just isn't worth it. This being so strongly on my mind has everything to do with my Aunt dying of lung cancer right now...and I don't want that to happen to me.

I'm just going to give my pack away to someone at SDC when I go there today.

    Mail them to Divot

Yeah, like he needs to smoke more than he already does... :S

    His choice . . .

Didn't say I agree with it.

I'm down to not smoking at all, unless I have a t least 3 beers and that is not very often any more either.

Yeah, resisting smoking while or after drinking is a bitch & a half!

When I first met him a couple years ago, his cough, & the frequency scared the hell out me! (still does). Seldom do I suggest to people that they not smoke, because I know how annoying that is - but having genuine concern, I had to say something, at least once.

Skymama's thread made me think - what's one word that others would use to describe you?... You can choose it yourself, but better yet - we all describe each other.

    This should be fun. :)

    Annoying:)
We are supposed to be describing what others would say?

You can, but ideally it would be better if others describe you. :)

    OH - in that case . . . Tight!:D:D:D:D

Never. I walk away when people light up. I can handle cigar smoke to an extent, but cigarette smoke is out of the question.

That's really odd - since cigar smoke is much more potent.

I don't smoke weed anymore either - but I do appreciate the kind bud when I see it. I just don't partake.

  19. What's the longest you went wthout smoking?... My mom successfully quit for 7 years before she started back; I went 4 years.

I know it disgusts a lot of people, so I have no problem with not lighting up around others - and honestly, I'm trying to limit it, as I worry about my health. Unfortunately, I enjoy it. I'm just surprised that I started back after 4 years.

  20. The more & more I think about it, the more I am annoyed, & even offended that people believe in god. Not by the people themselves [necessarily...] - but by the fact that there are people people who believe in God. It's an insult.

When I think of god, I think of fundamentalism - & fundamentalism makes me CRINGE! Yuck! B|

    You don't regret it?

Are you kidding? best decision I ever made.

Every day I see a friend get married or get the flesh eating pregars virus I remember how lucky I am to not be affected by this disease.

Adopt a child that is in need of love and a family.

Flesh eating pregars virus?...that's a bit much, don't you think?

Marriage & children/family can be a beutiful thing - provided the right people get together.

You don't regret it? That's really young to be making a decision with such permanent consequences. A persons views could change at least a few times on this. When I was 19 I didn't want kids wither, but fast-forward 10 years & I see things differently now. It doesn't have to be now - but I do look forward to being a dad. :)

I can't speak for him, but I've never regretted mine, because there is already an overabundance of children in the world that could use a good family. We have a shortage of food, not children.

Because of my personal beliefs, even if I wanted a child, I would adopt.

That's a valid point. I likewise would encourage adoption - but also would want children of my own also. There's just something about it.
