One of the most successful DZ`s around broke almost every rule you spelled out. They opened up in an already saturated Market. At the time they opened there were already 4 DZ`s servicing that Market. They opened up the 5th one. Marketing?? They used primarily word or mouth the fist couple years and the DZ across the street was the Home of the biggest marketing machine this sport has ever seen. Underselling?? The fist year they were in business they had $14 Jumps for men and $10 jumps for women. How did they do it? I think it really all came down to the atmosphere they created. A DZ that from day one was all about the Jumpers. they created a Place that people wanted to come to and stay at. Competitive prices and above all, A great Vibe where everyone was welcome. They went from Porter to a Caravan to a Grand Caravan to an Otter in just a few years and are usually the top rated DZ around. It is all about the Vibe and atmosphere the DZO and staff creates.

Which was part of the point I was trying to make. Cancun may be somewhat safe.. But even as close as 15 miles away, Even the locals will not travel on the roads because of the murders and kidnappings. Anyone that thinks it is safe to be in Mexico right now is either completely uninformed or has their head up their ass. When you have 100`s of people slaughtering each other over drug trafficking and there is little if any police presence (Outside of major tourist areas) then common sense says it just might be a good idea to say away for a while.

All of this makes me nervous a hell. My brother is (Darktreader on here) is working there at the moment. Originally he was supposed to fly to Cancun last Saturday and then travel about 15 miles by car to the job site. A couple days before he gets a call and is notified that due to Cartel activity on the road he was supposed to be taking from Cancun to the job site (Kidnappings and Murders), the customer (a Japanese owned manufacturing plant) changed the plans. Instead they flew him to Mexico city where they had a smaller plane waiting that would get him closer to the job site. These people live and work there and will NOT travel on the roads around Cancun. He is still there working at the moment. Yes, I am nervous as hell for him. Anyone that says there is nothing to worry about there right now must really have their head up their ass.

Hey.. As long as you are only stealing from the Rich guys.. Its all good, Huh? Yes, Walmart is a Crappy, Greedy Corporation that abuses Eminent Domain more than anyone else But in my opinion, Stealing from them actually puts you right on the same level if not a good bit lower. Just because it is technically legal and within the rules does not make it right. (just like Walmarts Eminent Domain abuses are technically legal but very WRONG). Hold yourself to a higher standard. Honor and Integrity are much more important than the few bucks you manage to get away with.

In this economy?? I would be ecstatic. I have not had a salary increase in 3 years. In fact all employees and myself took about a 20% pay cut last year in hopes that we could keep the company afloat until things turned around. Fortunately it looks like it might have paid off as this year has been pretty strong so far.
