  1. Good to hear your alright. I picked up an argus last season, works great (has not fired) and is very suited for swooping. -turns itself off after a canopy is detected, no chance of fire on descent -has adjustable altitudes (don't use it much, cant think of a case where I need to jack with it, others may have a reason to?) -waterproof to an extent (proven!! with my chowing ass) -and cheap maintenance, bought batteries at walmart last repack for 6 bucks, gave them to my rigger and he put them in and good to go! Not knocking any of these others aad's but all I need it for is if an impact knocks me out and I cant get my handle for myself. If you do hop and pops I guess it's only good if you knock yourself out by hitting the tail! For the task at hand it just works. No worries its off! It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!

  5. Thats 369 !!!!!!!!!!!! my favorite number. hahahaha you ever listen to little john!!!! lolol Thats been up there for about over a month and you are the first person to actually notice it, lol Last diablo I jumped was in the 150 range and it was a true POS hahaha. I do like my reserves to be bigger than my main though. Yes it is a joke, those canopies do not exist, and if they did I would love to know the crazy b&stard who jumped them. Take care It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  6. just another reason not to toggle whip anything close to the ground! It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  7. Your gonna do what your gonna do, but in the end none of us on this forum have to land that canopy, you do. Main thing is, do you understand the canopy your on and have you maximized it to where your ready to move on. I've been in your shoes and you will only know when it comes time to sink or swim. Heres some things you should think about before you do pick up that new canopy. What do you do when you get cut off in your straight in pattern, how do you judge your outs on long spots, nailing tight landing areas, cross wind landings, finding that sweet spot on the brakes and my favorite, finding canopy stall points. Biggest one in my book is your ability to overtake other people on lighter wing loadings when you downsize. Your moving on up like george and weezy so get ready for the added responsibilities for that pent house in the sky.(had to throw a jefferson's analogy in there, lol) Because if you don't have a good understanding and judgement of what your doing then you endanger other people, and thats not right. No matter what your decision, remember in the end its just you and the earth. Take care and be safe for yourself and others. It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!

  10. thanks thats exactly what im looking for It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  11. thanks mike, thought about that one, just need to find a rigger that can make one that has a mounting surface for the screws on the neptune. I know I dont want anything solid like the bonehead cf mounts down there. It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  12. Get some video and coaching ! One thing you can do and most all of us will agree is to visualize it and practice it on clear and pulls. Pretty vague but more practice and you knowing your canopy will solve this. just take some time and get a game plan (stall points, horizontal distances covered, sweet spots etc) and go up and enjoy a birds eye view and get to know what your flying. Never had a canopy flight I didn't enjoy. It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  13. I need some ideas or some visuals on how I can mount my neptune on my left leg strap ( non articulated). I have seen some other swoopers set them up but I can't remember if they used pillows or direct attachment to the strap. Any input would be most helpful. I posted this in gear and rigging and no info, so hopefully somebody over here in the pilots forum can help me. Thanks It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  14. Alright folks I hardly ever post on here but I am stumped. I need some ideas or some visuals on how I can mount my neptune on my left leg strap ( non articulated). I have seen some other swoopers set them up but I can't remember if they used pillows or direct attachment to the strap. Any input would be most helpful. I would like to have it angled up if that can be done. Thanks It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  15. great video guys, seems like all of the new vfs teams are really maturing in the discipline. I agree with some of the other post, but it seems that both the artistic side of ff and the precision formats are complimenting each other. I still dont want to see 3 way go away because I think that it still elevates our sport so much. wander how many vfs teams are going to put together some pick up teams at nats this year. great vid guys keep up the good work It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  16. SWEET DAVE ! No matter what this crap is this year, just go out and swoop your asses off for us young guys. It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  17. just wanted to see what some of you guys where doing with these smaller altimeters and audibles that dont fit in the old protrack clips. Post some pics if you got them. I have an old hurricane and invertigoX and I wanted to see if anyone has tried mounting them on the outside of these helmets. It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!

  21. Freeflying Dead???? HELL NO!! Just talk to any new jumper who just got into a solid sit or back fly for the first time with grins from ear to ear. Thats what its really all about guys, giving people an outlet away from traditional belly to literally fly in the relative wind any way you want. Thats freedom and as long as we keep planting seeds in new jumpers and elevating our sport, through competition, events and teaching new jumpers, then its not gonna die. I know I got into freeflying right out of student status on the sole fact that I was amazed at the local freeflyers and what they where doing(kinda helped that it was anomaly). For a great example of where we are today, is kinda like snowboarding and skiing in the late eighties. I remember not being allowed to board down certain areas in crested butte and being looked down upon boarding when i was a kid. Oh how things change in 20 years. I get those same feelings at my dropzone. Sometimes from the old belly flyers, and the only thing you can do is to bring in new blood. I have been snatching up and planting seeds with every new liscensed student (depending on mental condition) we have had come through to get them open about Freeflying, and thats what I think its going to take. Freeflyers are gonna have to become better teachers and salesman for us to move forward. But its never gonna die, we do too much cool shit !! take care everybody, Jake It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
  22. I feel your pain!!! Its hard to find 2 other people that have both the time and money to commit to putting together a team. If your in eloy at nationals look me up for a pick up team. lololol It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!

  24. I know I've talked to some of you guys about holding a freefly gathering down here in houston. So here it is bitches! Since their is no skyfest boogie this year in Texas, SDH is having the deadman boogie the last weekend of June. NO BOOGIE FEES, Lots of free food, along with a casa and Helicopter jumps(this is also the weekend of a full moon!, so hopefully night heli jumps over houston) Also for those of you interested (skill permitting) we will put up the gates and have a swoop comp(po boy style!!) I got a $120 bottle of crown to the winner, and a few CPC judges that will be out their to really grade your asses for ultimate pissing rights! I will have more to info later, if you have any questions either post it or pm me. later, Jake JUNE 27-29th It's all fun and games till the ground gets big!
