  1. That will be quite interesting/embaressing!!! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  2. Cheers for the very fast response. I do like the sound of it. Just looked at where the airport I'll be arriving at is: Stockholm Skavsta airport, which is the same airport that Nyköping operates at... so that makes that DZ by far the closest and easiest to get to, but if Gryttjom is worth it, I'll be willing to travel the distance to get there! Maybe I'll go to both?! Will drop each of them an email and see what responses I get. Might have a friend in Uppsala, which will be very handy for Gryttjom. 3. At the moment there is a very good chance I'll be taking a week holiday in Sweden towards the end of August (20-27th roughly), with the main intent of getting some jumps in while I'm there. I'll be flying into Stockholm. Which is the best DZ of these to go to, based on ease of getting to it, price, altitude, bunkhouse, friendliness, things to do at night in the local area and any language difficulties as I don't speak any Swedish. Will do my best to learn the basics by the time I get there, but I'm no linguist. Gryttjom was originally where I was going to go, and I got a nice detailed email back from them with info, but have since researched and found those other two within roughly the same distance from Stockholm. Has anyone been to any of them before and able to offer opinions or advice? Thanks in advance. 4. The triatholon and the orange and yellow oone have lessened my worries now as they do look a lot more "neon" than the yellow in Pincheck's canopy for some reason. This is my first custom canopy and there was me thinking I was being all cool and original with my colour scheme and not only does/did Pincheck have exactly the same colours in the same style (except the stabisliers), but the neon yellow and orange one above is also in exactly the same style!!! Gues I'm not as cool and original as I thought!!! Attached is exactly what I went for... but now thinking a neon yellow slider might be nicer... less chance of looking pink when it starts to fade! 5. Not long ordered my own Pilot as well, and looking through these pics the scheme I went for is almost identical to Pincheck's on the first page! Kinda wish I'd seen this thread before I ordered as I imagined the neon yellow being a lot brighter looking. Order went in about 2-3 weeks ago, do you think I'll still have time to change my mind on colour scheme, if I wanted to? Can't decide whether I'm not as keen on it seeing it properly, or whether I'm now hesitant cause someone else out there has the same colour scheme as what I ordered!! 6. Bollocks. Just realised I put the wrong image in my last post. My rig is the one on the right of this attached file. But it will be a vision, not a regular wings. Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  7. A slightly modified version of top centre made it to the final two, along with bottom centre which are in the attached file. In the end I went for the modified one, which is the one on the right in the file. 15-16 weeks and I should have my brand new Wings, Pilot and Smart! 8. So the red bottom part of the container, with the red main flap and red centre midflap stripe doesn't have the look too much like a penis?! I hate the person who pointed it out to me. I didn't see it at all once I made the design, but now it's all I see!!! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  9. I wasn't able to order my Wings a few months ago when I wanted, but am going to within the next few weeks. Was thinking of one of hte attached colour schemes, for the simple minimalistic style. Liked the look of them until it was pointed out that the coloured bits could possibly be seen to look like a penis! Now I'm not sure about getting this colour scheme!!! Am I just being paranoid and it'll be ok once made, or will I end up being known as the guy with the penis rig?! 10. I'm in the process of trying to get a colour scheme sorted for my soon to be ordered Wings... to help me to that end, does anyone have a decent picture of a Wings with yellow and/or neon yellow cordura? Thinking about having some yellow on mine, but don't know which will look better. Cheers! 11. Hey. At the mo' I can get quite cheap flights to Poland around Easter time and was thinking of going for an extra long weekend and getting as much jumping in at a Polish DZ as possible. Are there any good dropzones that are likely to be open around end of March near any of these places - Krakow, Warsaw and Gdansk. If so, roughly how much is a jump? If anyone has any experience of any of the DZs can you let me know what is would be like for a non-Polish speaking person. Cheers! 12. Exactly the sort of tool I was after! Many thanks! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  13. I know there is a dropzone database on this site, but my French geography sucks, so I don't actually know where all those DZs listed actually are in France. So can anyone tell me if there are any DZs on the south coast of France as I'm flying into Nice in July and travelling round the coast to Barcelona. Going to Empuria once I'm in Spain, but would be nice to go somewhere while I'm in France too! If anyone knows of any, I'd appreciate a heads-up! Cheers! 14. The BPA insurance is £100000 at non BPA affiliated DZs, but is still £2m at BPA affiliated DZs. As far as I am aware Empuria is BPA affiliated. I do plan on jumping once I'm back in the UK, so even though it is a bigger expense just now it might be worth it in the long run. Do you have to BPA insurance to jump in the UK? Cause someone on that thread you linked to said they have a £50 yearly insurance through Endsleigh. Is that ok instead of BPA? Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  15. Just looked at their site and their quote isn't bad, but I'm confused to say the least about the small print in the high risk activities section which includes skydiving. Now skydiving comes under these conditions, so does it mean that skydiving isn't actually covered under personal accident or personal liability? Empuria require third party insurance, that's the same as personal liability, right? Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  16. I'm going to be doing the AFF in july in Empuriabrava and now don't know what is best to do about insurance. I figured most of hte experienced people in these forums would have some idea, which is more than I do. Should I get the BPA membership (£150) and personal accident insurance? Or should I get the personal accident insurance and the 3rd party insurance offered at Empuriabrava? Or option 3, personal accident and shop around for other 3rd party insurance? Cheers. ps. Other than the bunk-house at the DZ, does anyone know of any cheap places to stay with a double room in Empuria? Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  17. Oh bloody hell. I've gone and booked my flights and got in touch with Empuriabrava to book me on the course!!! Roll on July 15th!!! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  18. I've decided I'm actually going to fly in to Nice in France, and then do a two week tour round from there to Barcelona (via Monaco, Marseille, Montpellier, Perpignan, Girona and anywhere else that looks good en route), where my girlf will depart back home and I'll head back up to Empuria for the course. If I book the flights soon, can fly into Nice and out from Barcelona for total ~£60 return. Bargain! And train fares for that entire route work out at about 100Euro, which is great too! Now all I have to do is find the money for accomodation while I'm doing all this! Credit cards ahoy! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  19. Been looking into Seville a bit now as well, and the website I was looking at - Freefall Addicts - sells the place very, very well. Location wise I'd quite like to go there, but I just cannot find as cheap flights there in July as I can to Barcelona... Thanks for pointing it out though, definitely somewhere I'm going to keep looking for cheap flights to!
  20. Hey, That price for the AFF is brilliant and if I was going on my own I think it would work out a bit cheaper to go there, but the cheapest flight I've been able to find for the time I'm likely to be going (July) is about £530. x2 to include the girlf and it becomes a lot pricier. If the flights were nearer the £300 mark then it would be a serious consideration cause I know she'd be quite happy over there!! Thanks for the replies and I'll keep an eye out for cheap flights, but from the mentions that Lillo is more in the middle of nowhere, then I think it'll be Empuriabrava unless the cheap flights to the US materialise! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  21. From the skydiving point of view that does sound pretty great for beginners like me, however as I'll be there for about 2 weeks to do the whole course and in the general area for 2 weeks on holiday, if there is nothing much around there, that isn't so great from the holiday point of view. Don't think my girlf would be too happy taking her there and there ending up being very little to do for two weeks!! Will read up more on the surrounding areas just to be sure though. Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  22. Well, I think those posts are pretty much settling it! I'm glad that is where I was leaning to, as I don't feel that bad about dismissing the others! I'd still appreciate any other pointers or advice from anyone else that reads this though! Cheers. Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  23. This is my first serious post, so please be gentle! I'm planning on doing an AFF course this summer, but don't know where would be best to do it. At the moment I'm thinking between Skydive Empuriabrava, Skydive Lillo and Freefall University. For each of those I can get the flight from the UK to Spain for about £50-60 quid (if I book early), so flight cost is quite cheap. There is very little difference in the price of the course, so that's not really much of a factor. But the factors that I am interested in are: what is there to do in the immediate and general surrounding area around the DZ holiday wise? And also what are the DZs like, cause I'll prob be spending a little time there too! Wherever I go, I'll prob be having about a 2 week holiday before or after the course with my girlf, and then I'll be having about 2 weeks around the DZ area to do the course and consol jumps. During hte time that my girlf is out we'd like to see quite a few places in the two weeks. At the mo' I'm leaning towards Empuriabrava as it is on the coast so there will be a beach and stuff, but I don't know if there is anything else there. Can anyone give me advice on which to go to, or if there is somewhere else entirely (different countries considered too) that you think would be better for us to go to? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
  24. Yeah? You wouldn't happen to know off the top of your head any DZ's that offer that sort of opportunity? Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
  25. Oh shit. I figured I was going to have enough money, maybe at a complete stretch and having no more money for the summer and a bigger overdraft, to do an AFF course in Spain with a few hundred Euro extra for repeating a level or two and to do the 10 consol jumps... i.e. about £1500. If that's not going to be enough (and I will be utterly broke after that) then it will have to wait till the next summer!
