Fer shure on the story bit. Is there anyone who gets out without the slightest clue on how to get away with shit?? It seemed to me like it made the shady motherfuckers even worse and even the nice kids get shady...and... Is there anyone in the USMC thats happy about anything?? Oh yeah been there...but I contracted privately so I pretty much made my own hours. In drywall the dry time between sanding and coats meant that a job that only took about 14 man hours would take 3-4 days because it would take ALL day to dry. Wish I had been jumping in those days... Yeah, I'm pretty sure thats where I did my tandem. It was a very cool DZ, quite a nice view in FF and under canopy. Everybody there was super friendly too. I look forward to jumping there and seeing if I remember anybody's face. Perris IS really big, and yeah theres Otter loads everyday(I did 4 jumps yesterday,and showed up around load 10 or so) but since I've only jumped there I'm used to the crazyness. I'd say the tradeoff for jumping at a bigger DZ is the initial shock of everything thats going on and the time it takes to get "in" and meet everyone. Once thats done its gravy. Plus you learn so much with all the world class jumpers there...not to mention the tunnel and SquareOne. Soup town will be a welcome change from Cali...I'll be back in time for the amazing Summer Wisconsin weather Someday Never Comes

Anyone else notice how hard it is to get in the Coast Guard??? When you got less than 2 months left they don't really care what happens to you as long as you don't die...you know then there'd be all that paperwork and the insurance payout... If you both pull at the same alt, how is one of you going to be higher than the other?

This happened to me last weekend. I happen to be one of those longer jumpers and a buddy of mine isn't so much. Isn't it better to flat track and cover more distance with a slower fall rate than to speed off but more or less in a head down track?? I thought the whole purpose of tracking was to get separation...yeah I can go fast too but thats not really the point is it?? Someday Never Comes

10!!!!!!!!!!! How do you guys manage with that much traffic. I have seen more then 10 jumpers in the air before at a DZ that only flys a single C-182. Easy there killer...I said 10...wait for it...wait for it...PLUS!!! Holy shit we've gotten to the bottom of this one!! And I woulda gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you damn kids!! Seriously though last weekend we had both Otters and the Skyvan in full effect...so yeah 10+ is just a way of covering the low end. Someday Never Comes

I think banning boogies because they kill people makes about as much sense as banning sex because it creates people. I've never been to one, HOWEVER my home DZ is one of the busier as far as jump numbers and canopy traffic and we routinely have to deal with 10+ canopys in the air on any given jump. I would hazard a guess that any given weekend is about as busy as a moderately sized boogie anywhere else. That said, I think it is really up to the individual skydivers to take charge of their jumps each and everytime. Pay attention to who is on the load with you. Try and remember if you have been on a load with them before or seen them fly their canopy. Avoid reckless or seemingly reckless jumpers. If you don't come from a turbine or busy DZ know your limits!! Get on the early morning loads when many are still nursing hangovers, and the later loads when many have already cracked a few beers. These are just a few suggestions from an low timer, but a lot of them have to do with good old fashioned common sense... Yes there are still going to be some risks involved with things like sex or skydiving...but there are lots of things a person can do to take as much charge of the situation as possible. Putting a ban on it takes all the fun and responsiblity out of it. Someday Never Comes
